Proceed With Caution

I  used to never be careful

About what I said or did

I just had fun and I partied

And most of my life was hid

But then I made Jesus my Savior

And He asked much more of me

He asked me to be His disciple

And live a life for His glory

So I put aside all of the parties

And I watched every word that I said

I wanted to glorify Jesus

And not bring reproach to His name

Now I know it’s hard to be perfect

In all that we say and do

So I will proceed with caution

As I witness to  all the world

The Coming Storm

Winds are swirling

Seas are churning

Storm is drying near

Windows boarded

Food is hoarded

Forecast bringing fear

Time is wasting

Storm’s approaching

Skies are growing black

Rain starts falling

Wind is howling

No time to turn back

We see the forecast looming

And prepare for what’s to come

Anticipate the worst case

And hope for much more calm

And when the storm has passed

And the skies all start to clear

We start the lengthy clean-up

That will last throughout the year

But a different storm is coming

One that has no warning signs

It’s a promise in the Bible

And it’s getting close to time

Jesus will return soon

To take His children home

And once we all leave with Him

You won’t want to be alone

But today you can prepare

For this day that’s coming soon

If a storm you will prepare for

Why not the coming doom?

Just ask Jesus to be Lord

And repent of all your sin

He will come and save your soul

And come to live within

The Road Less Traveled

I’m not one to take a big chance

Or go out on a limb

Or venture into unknown waters

I tend to take the road more traveled

One that I know

That i’m comfortable with

That I’ve traveled before

I was at home in my unbelief once

Easy life down an easy road

No responsibility

No worries

Then I learned that road went

Where I did not want to go

It was a road well traveled

Going the wrong way

I heard about another road

One that took daring to travel

It led the right way

And it was much less traveled

I decided to choose the less traveled road

I accepted Jesus Christ

As Lord and Savior

Now I am on the right road

Won’t you come along with me?

Fruit of the Spirit

His love is the life blood
That fills up my veins
It is through this great love
That His fruit remains

His joy overwhelms me
It’s unspeakable
My heart bubbles up
Like an overflowed well

His peace calms my thoughts
And drives out my fear
It passes my knowledge
And dries every tear

The patience He gives me
Through trials and tests
Helps me to witness
To all of the rest

The gentleness He gives
Softens my speech
It helps me to reach more
When others I teach

The goodness He puts in
My oft evil heart
Helps me touch others
Who may have it hard

The faith that He grows
By His marvelous word
Gives me the courage
To stand and be heard

His meekness brings awe
And humility
It beats down my pride
And helps me to see

And finally temperance
Keeps me in line
So I don’t indulge
Too much at a time

The fruit of the spirit
I love them so dear
They keep me in line
As I travel this earth

Remember

This day we remember an enemy lurks

Who would love to harm us much

He has looked at our land and despises the fact

We’ve been blessed by the Master’s touch

As our morals decline and our streets fill with hate

He slowly creeps in like a fog

We better stand up and shout from the roofs

This enemy must be stopped

We love America

Land of the free

Brave soldiers bled and died

For liberty

Let all who threaten us

Be brought to dust

By the Mighty hand of God

In Him we trust

In this year of great division

All across our land

It is time we come together

And make a bold new stand

One that says we are united

And our country’s standing tall

When we rise up as a nation

We can never fall

So let us boldly lift our voices to the sky

And pray that God will hear our heartfelt cry

When we bow down on our knees

And Him only do we seek

He will come and heal our land that very day

We love America

Land of the free

Brave soldiers bled and died

For liberty

Let all who threaten us

Be brought to dust

By the Mighty hand of God

In Him we trust

The Little Dash

We all live our lives the best that we can

Trying to leave some mark on the land

When our time is done and our life is at rest

Our bodies are laid in the ground

The graves are all marked with a stone of some kind

With some words written to keep through time

And the dates of the life of the person are there

Separated by a dash of a line

That dash is now sandwiched between birth and death

All of your life is wrapped up in it

What does that dash say about you?

That is the question we one day will get.

So let’s make a sandwich that touches our friends

That reaches beyond to incredible ends

Don’t let that dash just be a small line

Let it bring joy and peace through the land

The Storm

Storm clouds gather in the west

Lightning claps the sky

Wind is rising, sudden gust

Lifts a tree branch high

Thunder rumbles, drawing near

Majestic dark clouds roll

Smell the fragrance of the rain

Before it starts to fall.

Then the drops come slowly downward

Hear their pitter-pat

Picking up the pace they echo

Through the rolling grass

Now a torrent water fountain

Opens up the sky

Streams of raindrops rushing downwards

Onto you and I

Suddenly the rain is over

Clouds start to depart

Evening sun peeks through below

And brings a brand new start

As the sun reflects the raindrops

Rainbow does appear

Reminds me of God’s great promise

He is always near

When you face the next storm in your life

Remember this

God allowed the storm too come

It may be just test

So guard your way and lean on Him

Throughout the stormy blast

On the other side you’ll see

A rainbow come at last

A.S.K.

When I’ve lost my direction
In this crazy old world
I’m reluctant to ask for some help
I think it’s a reflection
That I’m not self-assured
And it makes me feel very inept

But I can’t have this attitude
In my walk with the Lord
When I find I am losing my way
I will have more gratitude
If i look to His word
And find how He tells me to pray

He says first I must ask Him
When I’ve come to stray
Whether knowledge or wisdom I need
And He says that He’ll give
And show me the way
To find the next step in my plea

Next is to seek out
His will for my life
In the situation I’ve fallen in
Then I can figure out
The escape from my strife
And find the path destined to win

Last I must knock
At the door I come to
It shall open to me on its own
The door is unlocked
And it opens to view
The answer that He will make known

Now all that sounds simple
And easy to do
But there’s one trick you need to remember
The asking and seeking
And knocking you do
Must be done ’til you’re led to the answer

He always leads to the answer

He always answers your plea
It’s the waiting and watching that’s hard to do
So ask ’til your heart is set free
And seek ’til you see
And knock “til you reach the door.

My Past Has Passed

Your love is more than I can fathom
Your hope is way beyond compare
I can’t imagine why you chose to save me
When all I did was mock your name

When I fall into sin you send mercy
When trials come around you lend grace
I see your hand surround me when I wander
And gently lead me back to your embrace

You see my future.  I see my past
I need to learn that you always know what’s best
That when the trials of life come in I need to rest
You know my future.  My past has passed

I have been blessed by the joy that you give

It overwhelms me each day that I live

Your peace is a river that flows slow and free

I am so thankful that you have blessed me

When sickness of pain should enter my life

I know that you’ll heal me in your chosen time

And if I should lose someone real close to me

I know that your spirit will comfort my grief

You see my future.  I see my past
I need to learn that you always know what’s best
That when the trials of life come in I need to rest
You know my future.  My past has passed

I can’t praise you enough for what you have done

Or for what you are going to do

So I yield control to your marvelous plan

And I lift my worship to you

Go

I heard God Calling

In a voice sweet and low

He said “Child, you are ready

It’s time that you go

You’ve studied and prayed

That the harvest would come

So go out today

And touch everyone.

Hope for despair

Joy for their sorrow

Peace in the storms

Through all their tomorrows

Deliver the captive

Give sight to the blind

Bind up the demons

And cast them aside

Cleansing for lepers

Words for the dumb

Strength for their weakness

Heal everyone

Faith for the doubters

Forgive all their sin

Calm down their minds

Bring solace within

On top of all that

Show mercy each day

Give them my love

Teach them my ways

And treat everyone

With unrestrained grace

Never be harsh

Fill them with praise

And when you have done

All the things I have said

Then people will listen

And souls will be saved”
