Unperplexed

Perplexed is a word that we often use

When seeing the plight of this world

There seems to be conflict on every side

And everything’s up in a swirl

If we could just reach out in love and not hate

As Jesus would have us to do

Perplexed is a word that would soon disappear

As we follow the golden rule

Far From a Winner

It may seem irrational

Or even quite radical

That one man could make such a change

But I’m here to tell you

That this change is quite true

Through Jesus life was rearranged

From a dirty, ugly sinner

I was far from a winner

When I found out that He really loved me

I asked Him to come in

My life was cleansed from sin

And now I know He’ll meet all of my needs

So if you need a change

And life needs rearranged

Why don’t you cry to Jesus Christ today

He’ll gladly save your soul

And make your spirit Whole

Then guide you as you travel in His way

The Little Dash

We all live our lives the best that we can

Trying to leave some mark on the land

When our time is done and our life is at rest

Our bodies are laid in the ground

The graves are all marked with a stone of some kind

With some words written to keep through time

And the dates of the life of the person are there

Separated by a dash of a line

That dash is now sandwiched between birth and death

All of your life is wrapped up in it

What does that dash say about you?

That is the question we one day will get.

So let’s make a sandwich that touches our friends

That reaches beyond to incredible ends

Don’t let that dash just be a small line

Let it bring joy and peace through the land

Elegance displayed

Royal is a word we often hear

To describe the grandest of clothes

Or the rich way that decorators

Will garnish the walls of our homes

Regal means kingly attire

Garments that show majesty

I awe at their brilliance and splendor

And wonder how they’d look on me

But more Elegant was our Savior

As He died upon that tree

Wearing the blood of our sins

As a sacrifice for me

No love has been more beautiful

So much has never been given

As His elegant act to save us

And take us to heaven with Him

What a Relief

I remember well

The Alka Seltzer tale

Plop, plop, fizz, fizz

Would fix you when you ail

But that was temporary

And wouldn’t last for life

Relief would need to come again

When you weren’t feeling right

When you come to Jesus

He wipes away your sin

And sends it far away from you

It won’t come up again

The relief that brings inside you

Is more than you can know

So put your faith in Jesus

And see those ailments go

Which Will You Choose?

It’s an easy life

To just eat cake

Sit back and take it easy

But in the end

You’ll be alone

And hell will make you queasy

The harder road

Is sacrifice

A life that’s lived for Christ

But in the end

Heaven will win

You’ll enjoy eternal life

And when in Christ

The blessings far

Outweigh the price you pay

The cake you eat

While serving Christ

Gets sweeter every day

Alices Cat

In Wonderland she walked

Trying to find her way

Alice wasn’t sure

If she really should stay

Then she saw a funny thing

A moon eclipse she thought it was

But when it was revealed

A Cheshire cat smile as the cause

The cat was full of joy

And funny little tricks

He made himself invisible

Except his smile and licks

As we go through this life of ours

It seems joy can be fleeting

But the joy of the Lord will never cease

It’s abundance is relieving

So make your joy be in the Lord

And not in earthly things

And you w ll see how it endures

When earthly joy is fleeing

Sharing Grace

My hometown is real pretty

With streets set up in squares

And it’s easy to walk through

With sidewalks everywhere

I kius happened to be walking

Down a sidewalk yesterday

When I meet a man that limped

And was obviously in pain

I asked if I could pray for Him

That God would Heal his leg

He told me that would be great

So I took His hand and prayed

I saw a tear come down his face

As I finished up my words

He said thank you so  very much

I know your prayer was heard

We went out on our merry way

A smile broke on our face

A joy filled up my peaceful heart

I was glad I shared His grace

Heaven’s Song

It’s a song for the ages

Sung in heaven above

The angels sing it boldly

Telling of God’s love

The melody is beautiful

The chorus fills the skies

Cherubim and seraphim

Sing it as they fly

His love is so amazing

His love is so divine

It reaches down from heaven

And touches you and I
