Whisper

I heard a voice so softly whisper in my ear
I’m not sure who is speaking. My waking time is near
I roll myself back over and try to go to sleep
The voice returns once more and I ask the voice to speak

My child I want to tell you how much I love you so
How much I want to bless you. More than you could know
I wish to give you blessings to help your faith to grow
So you can spread the message of my love to all below

I rose up out of bed and I put on my shoes
I opened up the curtains. The sunlight filled the room
I went right to my easy chair and began to sing a tune
My spirit sought to praise Him, My worship filled the room

I am so glad you love me. I am so glad you do
I lift my hands in worship and send my love to you
All of my adoration. With every one of praise
I worship you sweet Jesus. I thank you for your grace

I love the story of Elijah. He bursts on the scene out of nowhere, walks into the King’s palace and announces it won’t rain for three years and then walks out. I’m not sure how he got in or how he got out. It was not easy to get to see the king in those days and when you announce something as drastic as a three year drought, I don’t see how the king did not hold him for a bit to find out who he was. Nevertheless, it took a lot of courage to do what Elijah did,

But Elijah did not always have courage. He also got discouraged. After defeating all the servants of Ball, he ran from Jezebel man actually wanted to die. God led him to the side of a mountain and as he was standing there he saw strong wind, an earthquake and fire, but God was not in any of them. He was in the still small voice that spoke to him and encouraged him to keep going.

If a mighty prophet like Elijah can get discouraged, so can we. But in those times, if we listen for that still, small voice we will hear it. God is always talking to us.

2 Chronicles 20:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Remarkable

It’s remarkable
Unimaginable
Unthinkable
That He would love me
The one who makes the sun to rise
He makes the stars to shine
He makes the wind to blow
He makes the oceans roar
He paints the sky at night
The lightning flashes bright
The flowers bloom with glee
Nurtured by honey bees
I cannot think why He
Would do all this for me

Way back when the earth began, God thought of me. First He made the Light. Not the stars, sun and moon mind you. They came a few days later. The Light he first spoke into existence was that light that dispels the darkness of the soul. It shines into every nook and cranny to rid evil from our lives and instill good. The Light guides our path, leading us to His truth and His way. This Light is always shining. The problem is that we have doors in our soul. Some doors we will open, some we will not. These doors keep the light out. He will knock at our door to come in and shine that Light, but we often refuse. He could just knock down that door and force the Light in, but He is meek and lowly, He is gentle and merciful.

After He made the Light, he made all the rest of nature so it was there to sustain me. To comfort me. To provide for me. Why did He do all this? Because He loved me and wanted to show His love. He shows His love to us every day, and all he asks is that we let the Light in. He stands at the door knocking. Will you let the Light in?

1 John 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Praise and Worship

Hallelujah to My King

One night while I was sleeping
My pillow soft and warm
I felt the Holy presence of the Lord

I stood with great awareness
That He was there with me
Then I sang Hallelujah to my King

Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah to my King
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah to my King

In the morning I so often hear Him speak to me. It may be through a praise song or in the quiet of the sunrise, but His voice is very recognizable. It may be in the noon day sun or when the stars are sparkling and bright that He would call my name. He often speaks these words to me in rhyme and asks me to write them down. Often He gives me the whole song at once, like He did with this one. As I walk along the old railroad tracks, which have been made into a bike trial, I lift my hands and sing the songs He gives me. Such joy fills me heart as I thank Him for giving me words to share with you.

What is God saying to you today? I can guarantee that He is speaking to you every day, and quite often during the day. Do you hear Him? Do you try to hear Him. Or are you so caught up in this world that the voices here drown out the voice of God. Don’t you hear that voice telling you what is right and what is wrong? Don’t you hear Him whispering which way to turn? He is always there. We too often are not still enough to hear!

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God

You Are My Desire

You are my desire
My soul longs after you
Every day in every way
You fill me through and through

You are my desire
My heart is in your hands
There is no greater purpose
Than walking in your plan

You are my desire
Your joy awakens me
I never have to worry
About my destiny

You are my desire
Your grace delivers me
I never have been worthy
Of the mercy shown to me

You are my desire
Your peace calms every storm
I rest in great assurance
That I am in your arms

You are my desire
You make all thing new
Your love is everlasting
I give my life to you

Before I came top know Jesus I had desires that were of this world. Drugs, alcohol, sex, power, riches and all kinds of worldly things were the longings of my heart. The defined me in my own imagination and nothing could change me because I really did not want to change, at least on the surface. But deep down inside, where the soul and spirit of a man lay, I was in turmoil. Je knew the lifestyle I was living was not sustainable. I knew one day it would kill me.

But I died a different death than expected. When I met Jesus, that man that I was started to fade away, to die out. That old man and all of it’s desires became my history instead of my present moments. I found myself with a new desire, something much bigger and greater then heaping things upon myself. Jesus was now the source of my purpose in life. He came in and dispelled of the old man and gave me new desires. Now I longed for love, peace, joy, hope, patience, faith and all those godly virtues. And my deepest desire was to praise Him, the one I used to curse. What a change in my life. What a wondrous love He has for me!

Psalm 37:4 King James Version
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart

Plant The Seeds

I wish I could speak to myself when I was just a child
When innocence was bliss and my thoughts were not too wild
I wish when I was a teen I knew what I know now
Instead of becoming a hippie and letting my hair grow down

I wish when I entered my twenties I would have been a grown up
Instead of listening to friends and think drugs were enough
I wish I could go back there with the lessons I have learned
I think that life would be different today if the alcohol I‘d spurned

My life has been shaped by these things and made me the man I am
It drove me to my knees so I would call to the great “I AM”
He brought me out of that darkness and into His glorious light
Now I know the struggles of man and can understand His plight

You see life is all a lesson that will teach us of ourselves
Then we can help out others who do not know themselves
Their heart is aching inside and they know not what they need
The emptiness inside will surely change with just one seed

The seed of faith we plant in the heart of those we know
Will one day break on through and start the heart to grow
Some will water, some will weed to help that seed produce
Until it becomes mature and a new life is introduced

All of us can plant those seeds and help our neighbors out
Out of the miry clay and into life that’s come about
Make sure that you are walking in Jesus Christ alone
Then you’ll become a light that shines and brings His children home

It is impossible to change our past, or anyone else’s for that matter. We can pine away all we want and it won’t change one second of what has happened days, months and years ago. Every work spoken and deed done has been written on the minds of those affected and there is nothing we can do to erase it or make it go away. However, all of life’s trials and test, the misery and doubt, the failure and heartache has all come to this moment in time to shape us and mold us into the person that we are. If we had a time machine and could change just one minute of our past, we would not have the same wisdom and insight into life that we have today. We are uniquely qualified to help others in the areas where we have been tested. If we have Jesus Christ as Savior, that qualification enables us to minister to others with our words and deeds on a daily basis.

Don’t waste the precious time that you have on this earth. Make the mist of it. Be a light that shines on everyone you come in contact with. Give a smile, say a kind words, do a helpful deed and pray for those in need. You can change the path of someone, just like the seeds planted by my friends changed my path. Be a difference maker!
Matthew 5:16 King James Version
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I Will Lift My Praise In Song

God you are holy
God you are righteous
God you are worthy of my praise

God you are mercy
God you are gracious
I will lift up your holy name

So I will lift my hands and lift my voice
To worship you and rejoice
You are my rock and fortress strong
I lift my praise in song

When we look into the heavens we see His glory. When a thunderstorm comes through and the rainbow appears in the sky we see His glory. When the sun starts to set and He paints the sky, we see His glory. From the morning dew to the cool night air, His presence is all around us. Minute by minute, day after day, He never ceases to provide everything we need for life. The air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink all come from Him. The sun that heats, the snow that cools and the wind that dries are all His handiwork. There is nowhere on earth that escapes His presence. There is nowhere His glory is absent. In the deepest depths of the ocean there is beauty man has hardly seen. From the loftiest of mountains spectacular views greet all of mankind. His glory is all around us, His presence surrounds us and His unfailing love will never leave us. We should never cease:6 to praise Him and give Him the glory He deserves. It doesn’t matter what others may say, think, or do. I will praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord

When I Think Of Jesus

When I think of Jesus I think of peace
In every storm I am at ease
For He’s the one who comforts me
I am at peace when I think of Him

When I think of Jesus I think of hope
There’s not a time when I can’t cope
For in His hands my life He holds
I’m filled with hope when I think of Him

CHORUS
No power is greater. No love is stronger
No mercy will surpass His grace
No deeper passion saved forever
Jesus, precious, holy name

When I think of Jesus I think of joy
When trouble come I still rejoice
My enemies He will destroy
My joy flows out when I think of Him

CHORUS

BRIDGE
Then His love, unceasing love
Flows over me from high above
I can’t escape His love for me
I praise His royal majesty

CHORUS

There are times that my mind wanders away from Jesus. I get caught up in the every tasks around the house so easily. The dishes pile up, laundry needs washed. Vacuuming must be done, windows are dirty, grass needs mowed, garden is filling with weeds – the list is endless. Work can also consume me now that most of my work is done form home. Phone calls to make, contact management databases to update, letters and cards and emails to send, planning for tomorrow, next week, next month. He seems far from my thoughts. He seems distant and somehow I can’t sense His presence. I feel like Peter, out on the water, suddenly loosing sight of Jesus because of the cares of the world crashing around Him.

But then He is there. I realize my mind has strayed and I bring it back to Him and realize He has been there all the time. He never left me. He never walked away. He was there all the time. My mind is quickly filled with joy, hope, peace and love again. Once again, I am thinking of Him and all is well.

Isaiah 26:3 King James Version
3 Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.

He Was….But He

He was a King
But He became a servant
He was mocked
But He gives comfort
He was despised
But He loves me
He was rejected
But He accepts me
He was questioned
But He is the answer
He was unforgiven
But He forgave us
He was weak
But He gives us strength
He was called a liar
But He is the truth
He was thought to be lost
But He is the way
He wept over Jerusalem
But He dries our tears
He was always traveling about
But He gives us rest
He was troubled in the garden
But He gives us peace
He was forsaken by those closest to Him
But He will never leave us
He was silent before Herod
But He is the Word of Life
He was beaten
But He gives healing
He was crowned with thorns
But He gives us wisdom
He was thirsty
But He is the living water
He was burdened with our sin
But He took our sin away
He was crucified
But He gives us life
He was dead
But He gives us power
He was laid in a dark tomb
But He is the Light
He was alone in the grave
But He is always with us
He was buried
But He rose again
He went back to heaven
But He’s coming back soon

You Will Send Your Grace

You’re my refuge and my fortress
In the raging storm you bring rest
You will send your grace to still the waves
In your loving arms I am blessed

Your my hope and my assurance
You give strength for my endurance
You will send your grace. I will run the race
While I’m holding on to your hand

No weapon formed against me
No fiery dart thrown at me
Can ever stop me for you are for me
The wind and waves may lash me
No way that they’ll outlast me
You will uphold me for you are with me

Your my everlasting Father
I will love you like no other
I will lift my praise for your wondrous grace
And your will I will discover

And when the storms of doubt when the waves of fear
Crash around me you will surround me
In your loving arms I am safe from harm
No matter what I face you will send your grace

No weapon formed against me
No fiery dart thrown at me
Can ever stop me for you are for me
The wind and waves may lash me
No way that they’ll outlast me
You will uphold me for you are with me

You don’t make us invincible, Lord. You don’t keep the trials and tests way from us. You don’t keep sickness at bay or injury away. Our lives continue on just like the unbeliever’s do. You say the rain falls on the just and the unjust. In the same way the trials of life fall on all of us. You allow them into our lives, you don’t cause them. I often wonder why this happened, or what did I do to deserve that? But I have learned that your plan is always good and right and just. I only need to trust you.

Proverbs 3:5-6
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your path.

Jesus Life

Greatest Gift of Love

Holy is the Lamb
Slain for all of man
Came to set us free
Give us victory

He laid down His life
The greatest sacrifice
Then rose again
Rose again to give me life

Holy is the Lamb
Holy is the Lamb
Holy s the Lamb that was slain for us

Jesus Son of God
Greatest gift of love
Came down from heaven
Died on a cross
Greatest gift of love

From the very beginning of time, sin has been covered by a blood sacrifice. When Adam and Eve ate of the tree of knowledge of good and evil and realized they were naked for the first time, they were suddenly ashamed. God was not pleased with their sin and used animal skins to make them a covering. God Himself set a pattern for the covering of sin. We see Abraham almost sacrificing His son before God provided a lamb. When Israel was in Egypt, it took the blood of an innocent lamb, which had to be swiped on the top and sides of the door, to keep the death angel away. In Leviticus, we read of all the sacrifices the people had to make to cover their sin. It’s just the way God planned it from the beginning. “Without the shedding of blood, there is no
remission of sin” (Hebrews 9:22). Man can do nothing about removing their sin except cover it by the blood.

Jesus is the Lamb of God, sent down to this earth to be our sacrifice for sin. His blood covers us, just like the animal skins covered Adam and Eve in the old testament. The difference now is that Jesus removes our sin completely, washes us white a snow, and casts our sin as far as the East is from the West. He is the Lamb of God, seated on the throne in heaven just waiting for us to come home. Do you know Him today? Have you asked Jesus for forgiveness? Have you asked Him to wash away your sin? This is a personal decision. Please make it today!

Romans 10:13 King James Version
13 For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved.
