Get Busy

“What is your will, Lord” I asked Him today
As I knelt down this morning and started to pray
I want to know that I’ll walk in your way
For all the days of my life

“My will is that all will come to know me
Go into all of the world is my plea
Preaching the gospel and setting them free
My will has never changed ”

I bowed my head as I knew I’d done less
I hadn’t been doing His work to my best
And still He had seen that my life was blessed
I praised Him for His sweet grace

He said “Son, I am pleased with your life at this time

You have done a great work, many souls are now mine

Never believe that your light has not shined

Your testimony is sure”

“But I know there’s so much more I can do

To bring others along so they can know you

And save them from lives of eternal doom

Why have I been so laid back?”

I heard Him smile as He said “That is past

Remember the future is mine, and it lasts

So start today and give me your best

Get busy and preach the word”

Lack of confusion

I am not one to boast or brag

I used to and life was such a drag

I thought I knew just about everything

And I let people know it with plenty of zing

But one da y I learned that I was confused

About what was important when life is diffused

It’s now what I know in my head that stands tall

It’s what’s in my heart that matters at all

So now I am quieter day after day

I realize I don’t really know what to say

Except to say Jesus is really the way

To end your confusion today

Only in You

Only in you am I free, Lord

From all the sin in my life

You paid the price for my freedom

You became my sacrifice

Only in you is there peace, Lord

For my whole mind and soul

Even in times of trouble

You make my heart feel whole

Only in you is there joy, Lord

Not just a happy, cool place

You bring a blessing within me

That nobody can displace

Only in you is there love, Lord

Not just the lust of this world

You showed us your  compassion

And you taught us in your blessed Word

Only in you I reach heaven

You paved he way when you rose

Now I will live forever

Becuase it’s you I chose

Uncomplicated Life

Life can be so complicated

When I try it on my own

The decisions that I make can be so wrong

I find that I am drowning

In a sea of fear and doubt

And I’m always learning that I’m not that strong

But with Jesus in my life

I can walk in confidence

That He will bring me through my various tests

And all my fears and doubts

Are dwarfed by His great love

I find that He makes me be at my best

Special to God

I can’t imagine

A world without horses

Or dogs and cats

Or sharks and bass

I can’t imagine

A world without oceans

or rivers and streams

Or ponds and lakes

I can’t imagine

A sky without stars

Or sun and moon

Or clouds

All these things that God created

By His spoken word

For our pleasure

He provided for us before he even created us

Before He formed us from the dust of the earth

Before He breathed into us the breath of life

He formed us with His hands

All other things were spoken into existence

He still holds us in the palm of His hand

And He loves us above all His creation

We are special to God

You are special to God

Reach out to Jesus

I though success was in my grasp so any years ago

I had a good job, lots of friends, and always on the go

But soon I realized that I was on a troubled road

I had to turn around and start again

It was then I met Jesus, and my life turned upside down

I learned that His reach beckoned me to come to higher ground

And so I asked Him in my heart, His peace and joy I found

His blessings started flowing in my life

Now He asks me to reach out to others who need lost

To tell them their redemption’s near for He has paid the cost

They  simply need to reach out and accept Him at the cross

And they will realize His peace today

Christ Alone

Awaken, my soul, and sing
To Jesus Christ my King
My voice will raise
To sing His praise
Let loud hosannas ring

Arise, my spirit, arise
Let my worship fill the skies
I will proclaim
His mighty name
Until my spirit dies

For He alone is worthy of the praises that I bring
He alone deserves to have my worship offering
Only Jesus will receive the words that I will sing
Christ alone.  Yes Christ alone.

Come alive, my heart, come alive                                                                                                                                                                                                             As I lift up my voice on high                                                                                                                                                                                                                       I’ll worship the King                                                                                                                                                                                                                                 His praises I’ll bring                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     As I offer to Him my life

Open my eyes to see your face                                                                                                                                                                                                             Open my ears to hear                                                                                                                                                                                                                           Open my heart to receive your sweet grace                                                                                                                                                                                                   So that I might be free to draw near

For He alone is worthy of the praises that I bring
He alone deserves to have my worship offering
Only Jesus will receive the words that I will sing
Christ alone.  Yes Christ alone

Finding Favor

I don’t seek earthly possessions

I don’t try to fall for obsessions

I just seek my Lord

The one I adore

To teach me life’s valuable lessons

My life is lived to serve my Savior

He is the one that I savor

I’m not obsessed

Nor am I possessed

It’s in His arms I find favor

Magnificent

Jesus my Redeemer
How wonderful you are
You made this glorious earth for me
And gave me a gift of the stars
Then you brought forth the food to sustain me
And you gave light to brighten the day
Jesus blessed Redeemer
How magnificent are your ways

Jesus, marvelous Savior
I just can’t thank you enough
You gave your life at Calvary
In demonstration of your love
You forgave all my sins and transgressions
Paid a debt I could never repay
Jesus, marvelous Savior
How magnificent are your ways

You saved me
You healed me
You delivered me
From eternity spent in hell

Hidden

I see so many Christians

(Or at least that’s what they say)

Who profess that Jesus is their Lord

But they live a different way

On the surface they look very good

And they fool me quite a bit

But underneath and in their heart

They really don’t have it.

They gossip of their neighbors

And do honof them

They tear apart the pastor

When they should pray for him

Their ways are full of sinful things

When Christ asks righteousness

And often they complain and gripe

When they are oh so blessed

Hidden is humility

Pride is on display

Hidden is forgiveness

Anger comes each day

Hidden is compassion

They just walk on by

Hidden is their love for God

They just don’t testify

I pray today that you are not

One who hides their faith

That you are not ashamed to say

That Jesus is the way.
