Lonely People

I walk into the church here in Iowa
Waiting for the choir to begin
I settled into the back of you as I always do
As an elderly gentleman walks in

I have seen him here before, but it had been a while
His appearance seems to drive some folks away
I was sitting on the pew on the other side
As the congregation starts to sing God’s praise

Why are there so many lonely people
In a country where so many claim to know
That Christ came for the Lost
And He paid such a cost
Now our mission is His love to show

As I sang I couldn’t help but notice him
Tears were welling up with in his eyes
His feeble voice did lift his praise to Christ the King
I sensed His heart was breaking inside

The worship service came to a mighty end
In the sermon was inspiring to all
As the pastor gave an altar call prepared that day
The old man slowly rose and went aisle

Why are there so many lonely people
In a country where so many claim to know
That Christ came for the Lost
And He paid such a cost
Now our mission is His love to show

A sudden urge came over me to join him there
So I went and knelt beside him for a while
He was weeping as he bowed his head in silent prayer

Then he turned and looked at me with a smile

He said “Son, my wife passed on 5 years ago

And I was blaming God that she was gone

But this morning I awoke and felt the Holy Spirit call

And I knew that God had loved me all along

I hadn’t been to church

For all those many years

And when I heard the choir sing, I was so blessed

For God to still love me

When I had turned on Him

Overwhelmed me and brought me to His rest

We left the church that morning as friends

And vowed that we would keep in touch through time

I thanked the Lord He’d given me this day to realize

That a simple deed can change a person’s life

Let’s all try to look for lonely people

And ask the Lord what he would have us do

His mission is the same

His love will never change

He desire is to reach them through you

Go To Jesus

If you’re looking for peace in your turmoil

And you can’t find the solace you need

There’s one place to go

Where peace always Flows

Go to Jesus

If the joy in your life is depleted

And sadness is claiming your day

You’ll find what you need

If you sit at His feet

Go to Jesus

Jesus has all that I need

And all I could ever desire

He’s always right there

To hear every prayer

I will never go wrong with Him

If you think you’re unloved by the world

And you feel like you’re always alone

I know that you’ll find

A real love divine

Go to Jesus

His mercy is everlasting

His grace flows freely from His throne

When you ask Him in

He will be your friend

And you will be loved evermore

Jesus has all that I need

And all I could ever desire

He’s always right there

To hear every prayer

I will never go wrong with Him

Wonder

I cannot help but wonder
How he came to love me so
And I cannot imagine
How his love I came to know

So is it any wonder
That I lift His name in praise
He’s more than I imagined
His worship fills my days

Oh how amazing is His love for me
He came to save me, and set me free
I am in awe of His sweet grace
I cannot wait to see His face

I cannot help but wonder
Why He left His throne above
And I cannot imagine
Why He’d die to show His love

So is it any wonder
That I give my life to Him
He’s more than I imagined
That is why His praise I sing

My wonderful redeemer will soon return for me

And take me home to heaven where His I’ll always be

All pain and sorrow He’ll erase and death will be no more

I cannot wait to see His face

The one that I adore

Oh how amazing is His love for me
He came to save me, and set me free
I am in awe of His sweet grace
I cannot wait to see His face
Oh how amazing is His great love for me

The Little Dash

We all live our lives the best that we can

Trying to leave some mark on the land

When our time is done and our life is at rest

Our bodies are laid in the ground

The graves are all marked with a stone of some kind

With some words written to keep through time

And the dates of the life of the person are there

Separated by a dash of a line

That dash is now sandwiched between birth and death

All of your life is wrapped up in it

What does that dash say about you?

That is the question we one day will get.

So let’s make a sandwich that touches our friends

That reaches beyond to incredible ends

Don’t let that dash just be a small line

Let it bring joy and peace through the land

With Me

I’m walking with Jesus all the day long

He fills up my heart with a joyous song

I am so glad He travels along

With me

I’m talking with Jesus all the day long

He tells me he loves me, to him I belong

I am so glad He walks alongside

With me

What a wonderful Savoir I have

He takes care of my every need

He meets me in the morning dew

And stays with me all the day

What a wonderful Savior I have

He stays with me through every storm

And when day is done and the sun is set

Through the night He will always stay

I’m resting with Jesus under this tree

He tells me how much He really loves me

I lean on His shoulder, glad that He will be

With me

I’m trusting in Jesus every day

I know that He’ll lead me in His ways

And He will protect me all my days when He is

With Me

What a Merciful Savior I have

He overlooks all my mistakes

When I fall down He picks me up

And helps me start over again

What a Merciful Savior I have

He took my sin and shame away

When He gave His life at Calvary

He pardoned me with His dear grace

I will lift my voice and sing

Hallelujahs to the King

I will shout His praise

All of my days

To me He’s everything

I will worship His sweet name

He is day to day the same

I can trust in Him

He’s my lifelong friend

Jesus is His name

What a wonderful Savoir I have

He takes care of my every need

He meets me in the morning dew

And stays with me all the day

What a wonderful Savior I have

He stays with me through every storm

And when day is done and the sun is set

Through the night He will always stay

Elegance displayed

Royal is a word we often hear

To describe the grandest of clothes

Or the rich way that decorators

Will garnish the walls of our homes

Regal means kingly attire

Garments that show majesty

I awe at their brilliance and splendor

And wonder how they’d look on me

But more Elegant was our Savior

As He died upon that tree

Wearing the blood of our sins

As a sacrifice for me

No love has been more beautiful

So much has never been given

As His elegant act to save us

And take us to heaven with Him

The Eyes Have It

I can see it in your eyes

That bright shining twinkle

That comes form knowing Jesus

Knowing His love

Knowing His joy

Knowing His peace

Knowing He has removed your sin

As far as the east is form the west.

Knowing He’s preparing a mansion for you

And your home is eternal in heaven

What a wonderful j]knowledge that is

It builds up inside us

And puts a twinkle in our eyes.

Wonderful Savior

He took the stripes His blood ran red
A thorny crown was on His head
Stood Pilate”s judgment on that day
Silently gave His life away

He took the cross, that rugged tree
And on that day He died for me
Bowed down His head, gave up His life
As He became my sacrifice

What a wonderful Savior you are to me
My precious Redeemer you set me free
What a wonderful Savior you are to me,                                                                   Jesus, oh Jesus

Laid in a tomb, a borrowed grave
Big stone was rolled to seal Him safe
All hope was gone for those He taught
They went to hide, and not get caught.

Three days went past and darkness loomed

Suddenly stirring in the tomb

Then He arose, He arose
With a mighty sound of triumph He arose
The angels up in heaven were rejoicing on that day
For they knew the Son of God was coming home again to stay
He was building up an army of the saints who took His name

Now I am in that army, and I’ll never be that same!

What a wonderful Savior you are to me
My precious Redeemer you set me free
What a wonderful Savior you are to me,                                                                   Jesus, oh Jesus

What a Relief

I remember well

The Alka Seltzer tale

Plop, plop, fizz, fizz

Would fix you when you ail

But that was temporary

And wouldn’t last for life

Relief would need to come again

When you weren’t feeling right

When you come to Jesus

He wipes away your sin

And sends it far away from you

It won’t come up again

The relief that brings inside you

Is more than you can know

So put your faith in Jesus

And see those ailments go
