Jesus my Redeemer
How wonderful you are
You made this glorious earth for me
And gave me a gift of the stars
Then you brought forth the food to sustain me
And you gave light to brighten the day

How magnificent are your ways

Jesus, marvelous Savior
I just can’t thank you enough
You gave your life at Calvary
In demonstration of your love
You forgave all my sins and transgressions

Only through Christ the blessings flow

Only through Christ will I ever know

The promise from Heaven He bestows

To all who call on His name

 

He bought me at such a great price

By becoming my precious sacrifice

Paying the debt of sin in my life

So that now I am redeemed

 

His blood wiped away all my sin

Now God will never bring it up again

It’s just as if I’d never sinned

Justified by His blood

 

No longer will sickness rule in my life

Because I am healed by the horrible stripes

Now I claim victory when evils rise

Delivered from pain and disease

 

My mind is now free from doubt and fear

The thorns that he wore brought a covering here

Now I can now he will always be near

Peace and Joy flood my life today

 

He opened the way to heaven for me

He calls me His son, and He says I am free

He sets me apart because I believed

Sanctified through the cross

 

He’s there for me in good times or bad

Giving me guidance that I never had

His Holy Spirit shows me His plan

To prosper my life every day

 

From now on I’ll praise Him with all of my heart

I’ll sing out my worship, I’ll never depart

His precious love has set me apart

I am a child of the King

Bow my head in thanks for your grace

At the mention of your mercy

I listened

Hoping to hear His voice

Quietly waiting for His direction

 

I heard the voices of this world

Roaring like a mighty wind

But God was not speaking through them

 

I heard the sound of battles in foreign lands

Shaking the earth and all its people

But God was not speaking through them

 

I heard loud preachers and evangelists

With fire in their voices they preached the word

But God’s direction for me was not in their words

 

So I settled down to sleep

Quiet and peaceful

And then I heard His voice

Still and small, giving me direction

 

I Kings 19:11-12.  And, behold, the Lord passed by, and a great and strong wind rent the mountains, and brake in pieces the rocks before the Lord; but the Lord was not in the wind: and after the wind an earthquake; but the Lord was not in the earthquake: and after the earthquake a fire; but the Lord was not in the fire: and after the fire a still small voice

Two Great Gifts

I’m awaiting His mercy this morning
With His sweet, gentle grace by its side
I know that I’ll need them throughout this day
As I live out my everyday life

I try to walk worthy of His name
Always doing the best that I can
This flesh that I live in still wants to be free
To do things that are not in His plan

When I find myself stepping the wrong way
And I’m tempted to keep going there
His mercy steps in to turn me around
And His grace says forgiveness is here

When my words become hurtful to others
Because of my passion and pride
I turn to His grace to help me explain
That this battle is deep down inside
And that only by grace can I conquer
The pride that I have in my life
So I ask them for mercy whenever my words
Are raising their level of strife

When I stumble back into my old ways
And the urge to keep going is strong
His mercy and grace rush in like a flood
To keep me from going along
And if I insist I’ll go deeper
Back into my past life of sin
He reminds me His grace and His mercy
Are there when I want to return

Oh wonderful is His mercy
How amazing is His grace
He did on the cross
At such a great loss
To put these great gifts in place

I can always depend on His mercy
And His grace always covers me
He died for my sin
And then rose again
So I’d be with a Him eternally

Mercy and Grace are amazing
And they’re gifts that He gives away
Let me never forget
To do my best
To give mercy and grace every day

The Flow

There is a fountain of life

That flows from Calvary’s tree

It comes from God above

And washes over me

But when it hits my heart

It’s not for me to hold

I have an obligation

That others must be told

 

There is a river of hope

That tells me heaven’s my home

There is no doubt of where

I’ll rest when life is o’er

This hope should flow through me

To others that I know

For I am just a vehicle

To bring friends into the fold

 

There is a stream of joy

That flows throughout my heart

It reminds me of the blessings­­­

He does to me impart

These blessings are for everyone

Who call upon His name

So I must share this joy

By giving Him all praise

 

There is a flood of peace

That keeps me safe and warm

It flows from knowing God

Is always on the throne

My friends all need this peace

In this chaotic world

So I must let it flow through me

To touch and make them whole

 

And last there is His love

That flows eternally

It reaches out to everyone

No matter what they be

I must tell all I come to know

Of this great love divine

So the love, joy, peace, hope, life He brings

Will not just stay as mine

I was sure

No one could hear my cry

No one could feel my hurt

No one could truly love me

 

Then I found

Jesus would hear my prayer

Jesus would heal my pain

Jesus would always love me

 

I knelt down

And prayed through in tears

And prayed for His peace

And prayed He would save me

 

He came in

And filled up my soul

And filled me with joy

And filled the void in my heart

 

Now I know

His love has no end

His love is by grace

His love shows His mercy

 

What a change He brought

To my longing heart

What a Savior He is to me

Because He has set me free

 

He’s all that I ever sought

To fill up my poor dead heart

And He’ll do the same for you

If you’ll only ask Him to

It’s not hard to explain

The love I have inside

For Jesus Christ my Lord

The one they crucified

He took away my sin

The day he bled and died

And when He rose again

He gave eternal life

 

His love fills me with joy

And that abundantly

This joy that lasts all day

And always comforts me

No circumstance can change

This joy that’s deep in me

It bubbles out in love

For all the world to see

 

His peace is always there

To brighten up my day

It keeps me safe and sound

Wherever I may stray

I never have to worry

When trials come my way

Because His peace is there

It gives me strength to pray

 

I’ll never lose the hope

Of heaven that’s ahead

My future is secure

I will not fear or dread

When all of life is gone

And to most I will be dead

My hope has made a mansion

Where I will rest my head

 

This poem could go on

For days and even years

Listing all the ways

His love is oh so dear

And all the benefits

He whispers in my ear

My prayer is that you’ll come to know

The love this poem shares

I dreamed I was in heaven
And Jesus walked with me
We went out by the pearly gates
Where a long line I did see
I asked my Lord about it
And He told me just to watch
And listen for a moment
As the line moved slowly past
The first one was a man
Who had given to the poor
He had always put his neighbor first
And never took rewards
To many here on earth
His life had been a blessing
But the angels said I’m sorry
The main thing is still missing
The second was a women
Who had given up her life
As a living testimony
To the church and as a wife
She baked and cleaned and chored
Spent all her time for God
But the angels said I’m sorry
There is one thing you have not
A third and forth and fifth came down
And all had done great things
Some were even pastors
Who were living offerings
But as they told their stories
Of works that they had done
The angels said I’m sorry
You can’t enter, not a one
Then I saw another angel
With a woman who was plain
The angel brought her past the line
To a door with Jesus name
They stopped but for a moment
And the guard opened the book
Then they entered into heaven
And the other stood and looked
I said dear Lord please tell me
What does all of this mean
He looked at me and smiled
It’s simple to explain
The people in the line
Think works will get them in
But this lady had accepted me
And help me deep within
You see my son, the truth is
There is no other way
To enter into heaven
Then to call upon my name
The works you do don’t matter
Nor what you have to give
But if you make me Lord of all
You will in heaven live

When I thirst I need a fountain

When I am sad I need more joy

When I’m in turmoil peace will comfort me

When I have doubts I turn to faith

When I seem lost I can’t lose hope

When I feel down, love is what I need

 

There are times my life gets dry and hard

I just wallow in the dust

It is in these times the living water flows

You’re my source for strength in battle

As you quench my thirsting soul

I can feel the Holy Spirit in me grow

 

When life brings situations

That bring sadness to my life

I can count on you for overwhelming joy

You’re my source for inspiration

When the burden gets to hard

I can count on you to make my spirit soar

 

In days of great confusion

When I don’t know where to turn

I know that your sweet peace will comfort me

You’re my source for calm assurance

That all things will turn out good

And I’ll rest in the abundance of your peace

 

There are times my doubts take over

And I wonder where to turn

Then I read your word and faith is lifted high

You’re my source for truth and wisdom

In the times I trust my flesh

You renew the faith that gives eternal life

 

In this world of greed and power

It is easy to get turned

From the hope you have instilled within my heart

You’re my source for all the future

I can know heaven’s my home

And forever my abode will not depart

 

Your love is so amazing

Your love is so divine

It sought me out when I was full of sin

You’re me source for loving others

The way that you loved me

Help me, Lord, to keep your love within
