Made to Make a Difference

You travel through life a day at a time

Trying to find your way

It seems you are not getting anywhere fast

As you tackle life every day

Then you meet Jesus, and you ask Him to com

Into your heart to stay

And now you feel there’s a purpose to life

So you start to ask as you pray.

Lord, why have I had so many hurts

And difficult times in my life

Why have I faced such a series of tests

That have brought me a good deal of strife

And God answers back that now you’re prepared

To help others with things in their life

Because your an original, one of a kind

But what you have learned helps mankind

So get out and share your experiences

And see who wil heed your call

What you  have gone through will help many come

And answer the Masters call

Every Time I Think

Every time I think about your grace, Lord

And how your blessings fall on me

I look up to the sky

A tear forms in my eye

As I lift my hands in praise to thee

Every time I think about your mercy

And the fact that you forgave all of my sin

My heart leaps in my chest

And my soul becomes so blessed

My worship comes from way down deep within

You are high above all others

You are greater than I know

You are more than mighty

You are more than worthy

Of the praise that I can show

So I will lift my voice and sing out

My worship song to all the earth

I’ll shout it all around

The streets of my small town

Until they all have heard the word

Every time I think about the hope, Lord

That you have put within my soul

I raise my eyes to heaven

Where soon I will be dwelling

You made it my eternal home

Every time I think about your love, Lord

And how you gave your life to set me free

I lift my voice in praise

To your mighty, glorious name

Because before I knew you, you loved me

You are high above all others

You are greater than I know

You are more than mighty

You are more than worthy

Of the praise that I can show

So I will lift my voice and sing out

My worship song to all the earth

I’ll shout it all around

The streets of my small town

Until they all have heard the word

Humble Yourself

Pride is the enemies most valuable weapon

Pride is the way he maintains his possession

Whenever I get tied up inside of myself

Pride convinces me I’m okay.

Pride will take me to heights of elation

Pride will send me to the depths of depression

Whenever I get tied up inside my own self

Pride convinces me I must stay.

Pride is the enemy of God in our hearts

Pride is the first thing that has to depart

Whatever it takes to get out of myself

Pride must be left in the past

Because to come to God we must acknowledge our sins

We must ask His forgiveness and grace

We must bow down before Him and say He is Lord

Then, and only then, we’ll be saved

Then we will know of His ultimate love

Then we will know that He rules from above

Then we will know that He that He wants to know us

In the very depths of our hearts

And if we humble ourselves before God on that day

We will taste of His marvelous, wonderful grace

We will start to feel love as the pride we erase

And allow His meek Spirit to thrive

So won’t you please recognize all of the pride

That you’ve bottled up way down deep inside

And bow on your knee and lay it aside

And be humbled before your God?

Proceed With Caution

I  used to never be careful

About what I said or did

I just had fun and I partied

And most of my life was hid

But then I made Jesus my Savior

And He asked much more of me

He asked me to be His disciple

And live a life for His glory

So I put aside all of the parties

And I watched every word that I said

I wanted to glorify Jesus

And not bring reproach to His name

Now I know it’s hard to be perfect

In all that we say and do

So I will proceed with caution

As I witness to  all the world

The Resting Place

I need to find a resting place

Where troubles will all cease

It seems the daily battles rage

And I can’t find His peace

I long to find a resting place

Where healing will be mine

It seems this worn out body

Gets sorer all the time

I hope to find a resting place

Where doubt is cast aside

Where faith is all that rules

My heart and soul and mind

I’m searching for a resting place

Where I can dwell in peace

I need a calm, assuring voice

To end my worried speech

And when the day is over

And my rhyme is almost done

A small voice whispers in my ear

And now I can rejoice

Jesus is the resting place

That I am longing for

In His arms your comfort waits

Come and make Him yours

He’ll heal you and deliver you

And peace will flood your soul

And soon you’ll find a quiet rest

That soothes and makes you whole

Come into the resting place

Where peace is alt for you

Jesus is the resting place

He’s there awaiting you.

The Only Way

I just woke up this morning

The sleep is still in my eyes

I opened up my computer

That’s when I realized

I had to write out this poem

And not give it any disguise

Because no one can say I’m a fool

I have Jesus, and He makes me wise

Some would start up an argument

Others would question why

Why do you say He’s the only way

To get to the other side?

The answer is really quite simple

It’s because He can not lie

He says no one comes to the Father

Except through His sacrifice.

I will trust Him forever

Because He has shown me grace

And one day that is very soon

I will finally look on His face

Won;t you believe His word today

And ask Him your sins to erase?

If you call on Him He will save you

And you’ll feel His loving embrace

My Refuge That Lasts

I’m tired of the doubt that’s within me

That is welling up deep down inside

I want to have faith like a mustard seed

So I’ll know that this pain will subside

I’m tired of feeling this weakness

That my treatments have brought about

I want to have strength like an eagle

So I can His praises shout

I’m tired of being all cooped up

Inside my nice little home

I want to get out and be strong again

So once again I can roam

But I trust the Lord in all things

And I know He will bring me through

Right now the low point of my life

But soon He will miracles do

Until that day I’m delivered

From the weakness I currently have

I still will not cease to praise Him

For He is my refuge that lasts

So I will sing Hallelujah

Praise God from the depths of my heart

He is my Lord forever

From Him I will never depart

Oh what a wonderful Savior

He’s always right here with me

Oh what an awesome creator

He supplies all of my needs

I’ll always trust in His mercy

I’ll always lean on His grace

Until that wonderful, glorious day

That look upon His face.

Crossing Over

In my youth I visited Canada many times

On family vacations

Crossing the border was easy

No hassles, no problem

As an adult, I visited Mexico

Cancun to be precise

We flew, so went through customs

At he airport, easy as pie!

These border crossings were on this earth

And there were many ways to do it

But the border crossing to heaven

Has one way

Jesus.

In you want to cross that border

So heaven will be your reward

Then call on the name

The precious name

The only way

The truth

And he life

Jesus, the Lamb slain for you.

Grace is Greater

His grace is greater
Than all my troubles
He watches o’er me
When I fall down

His grace is greater
Than all my weakness
He keeps me floating
When I could drown

His grace is greater
Than all my struggles
He walks beside me
When I’m alone

His grace is greater
Than my temptations
He speaks so softly
And gives me hope

Just enough for today
And not for tomorrow
Yesterday’s grace is gone
Day after day
Like the manna from heaven
I have to depend on Him

Grace, grace
Great grace
Greater than all my life could need
Grace, grace
God’s grace
Grace that is greater than anything

Now I Know

I once though God was far away

And did not care for me

I lived my life for just myself

I  thought I was so free

But then I came to realize

That sin had kept me bound

The freedom that I thought I had

Was nowhere to be found

So I gave my life to Jesus

Because He died for me

And now I know He cares for me

And He has set me free!
