Lifting Praise

There are days that I don’t feel like getting out of my bed
All my current problems seem to clog up in my head
When me feet hit the floor it seems I’m carrying lead
I can feel a real bad day coming on

My attitude this morning is headed to an all-time low
But I’ve learned that attitude is one thing I can control
I turn down deep within me and my spirit does roar
With a mighty sound of praise a new day dawns

Lifting praise unto my Lord
Lifting songs of worship to the one that I adore
When the day seems oh so bleak
There is one thing I can do
Lift a song of praise unto the Lord

When you wake up to a bad day wanting just to sleep
I have a proven method that will get you on your feet
It doesn’t take too long before your joy is complete
You’ll wish you could bring everyone along

Lifting praise unto my Lord
Lifting songs of worship to the one that I adore
When the day seems oh so bleak
There is one thing I can do
Lift a song of praise unto the Lord

For the song of praise takes your mind off your problems
The song of praise brings you into peaceful rest
Lifting Jesus up each day
Will start you on your way
You will see that every day becomes the best

The Most Amazing Thing

I serve the God who put all the stars in place
He stretched out all the heavens and set the bounds of space
He even put the smile on the moon man’s face
The God I serve can do most anything

I serve the God who taught the morning birds to sing
The spider learned to spin his web the bee learned he could sting
The leaves learned changing color would autumn beauty bring
The God I serve can do most anything

His wisdom fills the heavens
His glory lines the clouds
His beauty can be seen day after daycreation
When you look up to heaven
You’ll see His handiwork
With wonder and with awe you’ll be amazed

I serve the God who started with an earth devoid of life
He told the light to shine and the water to arrive
He grew the trees and grasses so the beasts would all survive
The God I serve can do most anything

Then He formed a man out of the dust that covered earth
He breathed in him the breath of life which gave his spirit birth
God gave dominion to the man to show him his great worth
The God I serve can do most anything

His wisdom fills the heavens
His glory lines the clouds
His beauty can be seen day after day
When you look up to heaven
You’ll see His handiwork
With wonder and with awe you’ll be amazed

But man would disappoint Him, and disobey His plan
He sinned a sin what would be passed along to every man
God had to find a way to restore this earth again
The God I serve can do most anything

He sent His Son to earth to rescue all of us from sin
He died upon the cross to give us joy and peace within
He made us all a heavenly home when He rose again
The God I serve can do most anything

With all the wonders He has made
With all the miracles He gave
The most amazing thing he did
Was die to set me free

His wisdom fills the heavens
His glory lines the clouds
His beauty can be seen day after day
When you look up to heaven
You’ll see His handiwork
With wonder and with awe you’ll be amazed

Don’t Delay

Do you think it strange
That I would spend all my days
Giving Him praise
With all of my heart

If you could believe
What the Lord’s done for me
Then you would see
That my love won’t depart

He took my sins as black as night
And made me white as snow
He took my sickness and disease
And made me fully whole
He took my sorrow and my fear
And filled my heart with joy
He took my doubt and left His faith
His love has overflowed

He changed my trembling into peace
He showered me with His dear grace
His mercy forgave my disgrace
Oh what a friend He is
Oh what a friend He is

I hope you now see
What the Lord has done for me
Because His love is real
And it’s for you today

If you will believe
Then you can truly receive
All that’s He’s done for me
Don’t delay
There’s a way
Be blessed today
And give Him praise

The Greatest Journey

We all know great explorers who set out on a task
To search uncharted waters and place them on a map
They travelled far to lands unknown with zeal and courage grand
Many who set out would die in far off foreign lands

Columbus comes to mind as he crossed the ocean vast
Most thought the world was flat and he would never last
Magellan set his sails to go across Pacific heights
He lost his life in Philippines to many tribal knives

Vespucci learned that big Brazil was not east Asia land
It was indeed a new found place a separate continent
Marco Polo travelled out to South America.
The courage shown by all these men goes way beyond compare

But the greatest journey of all time did not start on this earth
It started up in heaven from the throne room of the Lord
When God said Son it’s time to go and rescue all mankind
You’ll come in as a little babe, and in the end you’ll die

The angels worshipped at His feet. The elders sang His praise
He had been exalted since the creation of all days
Now He’d go to earth to become a common man
The journey would be long and hard a cross would be His end

What an expedition. What a selfless act
To take a journey from the throne to stripes upon His back
He knew where he was going and what would come to pass
He knew that He would save mankind by hanging on that cross

He took the stripes upon His back to heal all our dis-ease
He took the thrones upon His brow so we could have His peace
He took the nails in feet and hands so we would not be bound
He took the spear into his side so victory would be found

And when He said forgive them the words rang loud and clear
The sins were washed away from everyone who hears
He calls those words today from His royal throne above
He wants to be your Savior so you could know His love

Yes the greatest journey ever was to ransom you and I
The Son of God came to this earth to live and then to die
His death bought your salvation from the ravages of sin
When He rose He made a place for you to live with Him

The greatest journey you can take is to His cross today
To bow before His majesty and give your life away
You need not know your future or the plans He has for you
One step then another is all you have to do

Sweet Peace

My soul has days that worry looms
Inside my mind I’m filled with gloom
It seems I can’t find rest from fear
Then suddenly your peace appears

Overwhelms me like a flood

The storms of life are gathered ‘round
My feet seem stuck in sinking ground
I pray to God my path to clear
He hears my cry and peace appears

Then Jesus comes and calms the seas
He leaves me with His gentle peace

Glorious Indeed

I walked out this morning to a silent peaceful night
Up above my head I saw the stars that shone so bright
The crickets chirping softly sang a tune that let me know
They praised the one who reigned on high and sat upon the throne

And as I walked in wonder I can feel his presence near
The night air was so calm there were many sounds to hear
As I put it all together I just stood in awe
This glorious creation was a testament to God

Glorious creation glorious indeed
I look up to the heavens He adorned
His glory they proclaim
So I lift up His name
To join the heavenly chorus of the Lord

All that I have was given by His grace so undeserved
He saved me from my sin with His mercy and His Word
When I look at the stars I am reminded of the day
That Jesus came and rescued me from all my sinful ways

Glorious creation glorious indeed
I look up to the heavens He adorned
His glory they proclaim
So I lift up His name
To join the heavenly chorus of the Lord

He didn’t have to leave His throne
He didn’t have to save us
He didn’t have to die an ugly death
He did it so we’d know His love
He did it so we’d look above
He did it to have fellowship with us

Incredible Love

His love is more than I can know
It reaches inside me
The love He brought from heaven above
The love that set me free
He taught me how to live each day
In love and harmony
Oh that I could demonstrate
His incredible love

His mercy reached my struggling soul
And forgave all of my sin
His grace has blessed abundantly
It flows from deep within
His strength is now my sure defense
I know that I will win
Oh that I could only show
His incredible love

I feel it when I rise each day
‘Til when I face the night
I feel it when I work and play
His love is like a light
It shines on me and gives me joy
I feel His awesome might
All because He gives to me
His incredible love

Love that’s filled with power
Yet it’s sweet and kind
Love that knows no limits
Touching all mankind
Love that shows compassion
Troubled ones He finds
How I want to demonstrate
His incredible love

It’s up to me to tell the world
And show them by my ways
That there’s a God in heaven above
Who cares about their days
They all should know that He is there
To touch their lives today
Oh how I must spread the word
Of His incredible love

What Can I Give

What can I give to Jesus my Lord
Considering He’s given me so much more
All that I have has come from His grace
His mercy touched me in my disgrace

There are 3 things I must daily give
To walk in His presence as long as I live
He gladly accepts these three simple things
So to Him each day I gladly will bring

First I must give Him all of my sin
Turn from it fully and repent within
He will take all of it gladly from me
Then clean my soul and I shall be free

Next I must give Him all of my praise
Lifting my voice to Him with hands upraised
Offering words that exalt His sweet name
A sweet smelling savor of love for His grace

Last I must give Him all of myself
My body, my soul, my mind and all else
There is nothing that I should withhold from Him
He desires to bless me without and within

When I have given these three simple things
Jesus my Savior becomes King of Kings
Lord of my life, I will bow at His throne
Knowing that now my life He does own

Why?

Early Saturday morning
Lightning dazzles the sky
I woke up asking one question
The word on my mind was why

Why do I love God so much
Why does He give me such choice
Why do I love to praise Him
Why did He give me a voice

The answers came rather quickly
As I penned these words today
I’d like to share with you now
And then be on my way

I love Him because of His mercy
And His wonderful grace to me
He found me when I was a sinner
Then He lovingly set me free

He gives me a choice to follow
Or stumble right back to my shame
Just to see if I really love Him
Or if I’ll just make fun of His name

I praise Him for He’s the creator
Nothing equals His majesty
I praise Him for who He is
And all He has done for me

He gave me a voice to tell others
Of my wonderful Savior above
To share with all that I meet
How they can know His great love

Now that He gave me the answers
To the why’s I was having tonight
I think I’ll go back to sleep
And pull the covers up tight

Is He Lord, or Just Savior?

We all can call Him Savior
For that is who He is
The stripes on His back saved us from sickness and disease
The thorns on His brow brought healing to our minds
The nails in His feet makes Him a lamp to light the way
The nails in His hands bring His peaceful touch
The blood dripping down His face redeemed us from our sin
The spear in His heart heals our broken hearts
And all this brings us joy
His resurrection brings us hope
And the guarantee of eternal life
All for just accepting that sacrifice on the cross
So many years ago
And accepting Him as our redeemer
Confessing our sins
Repenting and turning away
And following Him
Savior He is and always will be

But is He Lord
Do I follow His word
Do do as He asks
Do I give Him my liife
For that is what He requires
For entry to heaven
Or do I selectively do what He wants
And then what I want
Wallowing in between His truth
And mine.
This is lukewarmness
And the lukewarm He will spew out of His mouth
I don;t want to Be in that state
Is He Lord
Or is He just a puppet you call when you need Him
Is He Lord
Or is He just a gift giver to you
Is He Lord
Or is he just mercy and not truth
Is he Lord
Or is He just grace and not judgment

If He is not both Savior and Lord
You do Him a disservice
And yourself
And you may miss heaven
According to His own words
Make Him Lord today
Submit to His will
Follow His ways
Heed His words
Peace and Joy will seek you out
When He is Lord
