I used to think when I as young that fifty was real old
And now that I am old I think that fifty is quite young
And in that spam of time that’s gone between these years of mine
I’ve come to realize one simple truth
It matters not to God if you are young or if you’re old
In His blessed word we see His handiwork unfold
On people of all ages, from seven to one hundred
A willing heart is all He needs to have
So open up your heart today and let the Savior in
Let God have His way with you and a journey will begin
He will take you places that you’ve never been before
Because age does not matter with God
In response to the daily prompt Fifty
Can I get a witness for our God most high
Who set the world in motion from beyond the sky
He made this lovely planet just for you and I
Oh what a wondrous God we serve
Wonderful He is to me
Wondrous God we serve
Sent His Son to Calvary
His grace I don’t deserve
Now He watches over me
His blessings are reserved
I can’t worship Him enough
Wondrous God we serve
Can I get a witness for the Son who came
To die a beggar’s death to take my sin and shame
Then He rose to heaven. He’s alive again
Oh what a wondrous God we serve
Marvelous He is to me
Wondrous God we serve
Mercy flowing wide and free
None that I deserve
His great love surrounds me
Even when I swerve
I can’t worship Him enough
Wondrous God we serve
Can I get a witness for the Holy Ghost
Who guides us every day if the Son we chose
He guides us to the truth, keeps us on our toes
Oh what a wondrous God we serve
I will lift His name on high
I’ll shout it out to all the sky
And share it with the passers-by
What a wondrous God
I’ll live for Him all of my days
And do my best to show His ways
To all who I may reach each day
What a wondrous God
Wonderful He is to me
Wondrous God we serve
Sent His Son to Calvary
His grace I don’t deserve
Now He watches over me
His blessings are reserved
I can’t worship Him enough
Wondrous God we serve
We hear familiar music on the TV every day
Of a game show that so many love to play
People wager what they’ve won as they try to guess the clues
And every time they answer they’re in jeopordy to lose
It’s fun to play along on this trivial pursuit
In fact the board games really are a hoot
Simple fun can be a way to come together with your friends
And create a bond that opens up a door to let you in
So take advantage of those times when gathering together
And find out if their lives are jeopardized forever
Or if they have met Jesus and are now bound up for heaven
Please don’t let that moment pass you by.
Written in response to the daily prompt Jeopardize
I vowed to you Lord that I would obey
And promised to do everything you say
As I go through this life day after day
But then I slipped and fell
You came to me and lifted me up
You dusted me off and offered your cup
You said start again and never give up
Your forgiven all over again
Oh magnificent mercy
Coming from His precious love
Sweep over me like a river
Mercy that’s more than enough
I try day by day to be worthy
But I succumb to my frailties
Gossip or anger or what my eyes see
Drop me from pure to my knees
But you never speak condemnation
You offer me your consolation
And show me your endless compassion
As you take my hand once again
Oh magnificent mercy
Coming from His precious love
Sweep over me like a river
Mercy that’s more than enough
You always forgive when I stumble
You always forgive my mistakes
You’re always right there
To show me you care
And you’ll do whatever it takes
Oh magnificent mercy
Coming from His precious love
Sweep over me like a river
Mercy that’s more than enough

I have traveled down the road of life
For sixty four sweet years
They’ve been filled with many wonders
And also filled with tears
In my youth I was a rebel
Party life was what I sought
I just lived to please my flesh
My soul he devil bought
But then I met this Jesus
Who saved me from my sin
The party life was over
And a new life did begin
And even though it’s forty years
Since I accepted Him
I feel like I’m a youth again
There’s so much more to learn
In response to the daily prompt Youth
I don’t know why He loves me, but He does
I don’t know why He saved me, but He did
He gave up all he had and left His throne above
To show His grace and mercy were enough
I don’t deserve His favor, but He gives
I don’t deserve His blessing, yet it rains
He treats me like His son who has finally come home
And tells me I will never be alone
His love is greater.
His love is deeper
His love is purer.
Than I have ever found
His grace is greater.
His grace is deeper
His grace is purer.
His mercy will abound
And when the final role is called
And my name is heard out loud
I will see Him as I cross the pearly gates
Now I know that by His stripes I’m healed
I know that He delivers, and sets me free
When trials come my way I know His loving hand
Will always guide me to His perfect plan
Now I know His power is so vast
He tells me He’s my strength, and it will last
I can depend on Him no matter what I face
To keep me in His sweet amazing grace
His love is greater.
His love is deeper
His love is purer.
Than I have ever found
His grace is greater.
His grace is deeper
His grave is purer
His mercy will abound
And when the final role is called
And my name is heard out loud
I will see Him as I cross the pearly gates
When I open my eyes every morning
I rejoice that I’m still alive
And I give praise to Jesus my Savior
Who has saved me and gave me new life
When I rise from my bed every morning
I feel that I am so blessed
That I still have the strength to be mobile
And to rise up after my rest
When I eat that good meal in the morning
I praise God for all He gives
For He’s the provider of all I have
And His love is why I exist
All through the day I praise Him
I worship His arms which embrace
For He opens my eyes to see Him
And He gives His amazing grace
In response to the daily prompt Eye
I sing my songs to Jesus. Love songs just for Him
He purchased my salvation, so to Him my praise I bring
Songs of joy and gladness are in my heart today
He leads me by His truth and daily lights my way
I love the book of hymns that were written long ago
Amazing Grace, He’s Alive, It is Well With My Soul
I also like the new music so abundant out today
There’s a rising up in worship that I hope won’t go away
But more than anything I love the songs he gives to me
In middle of the night He opens up my eyes to sing
I sit down very calmly and he gives me every word
Then I put the rhythm to it, and His story is now heard
I’ll give you some examples of the words to these new songs
The melody you’ll have to guess, as a video I don’t have
I hope these words will touch your lives as they have touched mine
If nothing else I hope your blessed by the nice poetic rhyme
Song #1 I Want to Thank You Lord
I want to thank you, Lord, for your mercy in my life
I want to thank you Lord, for your great sacrifice
You have given me your all
Help me give my all to you
I want to thank you, Lord (This part is sung three times)
You deserve the highest praise
You deserve the highest praise
You deserve the highest praise
My heart can give (This part is sung twice, then close with the first part)
Song #2 We Lift You Up
(softly and soulfully)
As we come into your presence
And we turn our hearts to you
We out aside our care if earthly things
We have come to seek your kingdom
And we long for righteousness
Precious Lord, we want to glorify your name
We lift you up, we lift you up
We lift you up, Oh Lord, and praise your holy name
We lift you up, we lift you up
Come and draw us near to you, we lift you up (back to top first time through)
(with much enthusiasm)
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah to the Lord
Hallelujah, hallelujah, hallelujah to the Lord (Back to we lift you up, with gusto!)
There’s a few examples of the songs He’s given me
There are hundreds more He’s blessed me with
I hope He never stops waking me in dead of night
To share with me these love songs I can give
