Down on My Knees

I could walk a million miles or swim a thousand seas
I could climb the highest mountain or explore the oceans deep
I could lift my hands in worship
Sing a worship melody
But the closest I can get you is down on my knees
 
I could feed a hundred thousand or set the captives free
I could help a man in trouble or cure a dread disease
I could give to the less fortunate
The blessings I’ve received
That would not draw me closer than being down on my knees
 
Down on my knees there is healing
Down on my knees there is peace
Down on my knees there are springs of joy
Down on my knees I’m set free
Down on my knees He will hear me
Every time I cry out in prayer
When I’m down on my knees for others
I can know He is always right there
 
Help me humble myself
Put my flesh in its place
Help me cry out to you
Down on my knees in prayer
Jesus Life

Victory is Mine

He rose up like a standard
Arms stretched out
Feet tied together
Nailed to a cross
A crown of thorns on His head
Bleed dripping down
Sipping vinegar from a sponge
Winning my victory
 
The battle was raging
As he hung there to die
Satan thought he would win
He had the Son of God on the brink of death
Humiliated between two thieves
Soaked in blood from being scourged
No way to escape the nails
Pain inescapable
Hanging in defeat
 
But the battle had just begun
He shouted out “Father, Forgive them”
All my sins, not just there’s
All my failures, not just theirs
All my disobedience, not just theirs
All of it
Every single transgression I had ever done
Gone in three words from Jesus
My victory won
Then He said “It is finished”
Hung His head and died
Gave up His life for me
The devil cried “Victory”
The battle raged on
 
Jesus went to Satan’s lair
Brought the keys
Set the captives free
He didn’t die just for me
He died for all
Gave His life for all
Even those that had died
He gave new life
Their Spirits rose and walked the streets of Jerusalem
Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Jacob, David
Ruth, Hannah, Bathsheba, even Eve\
All were covered
All were set free
All gained Victory
 
On the third day
The stone rolled away
Jesus rose from the grave
Full or power and grace
The battle is over
The victory won
For all time
For all mankind
 
So why do I keep fighting?
Why do I let the enemy have his way?
Why do I allow his torment?
Why do I even listen?
He is defeated
Jesus has won my victory
It’s time to walk in that victory
To put aside my defeat
To claim what He has already done
And make it mine today
Victory is mine.
 
 

Unite My Heart

My heart is divided, Lord
I am undone
I know that I’ve failed you
This cannot go on
When my fear of you falters
The enemy’s won
Lord, please unite my heart
 
One side wants to serve you
Giving you praise
My fleshly heart falters
And wanders away
All this division
Keeps me in a daze
Lord, please unite my heart

When I put it together you can use me.  Use me.
When I no longer wander from your presence. Your presence
There is nothing I can’t do
That you have called me to
You will hear me when I pray
I will hear the words you say
I’ll no longer walk away from you,
Oh Lord, my God

Only by your mercy’

All around me people worship
Giving praise to God above
Filled with joy they lift their voices
Celebrating His great love
 
I can’t help but join the chorus
Lifting hands I humbly sing
He has given me such mercy
Mercy greater than my sin
 
In my deepest, darkest caverns
Down below this mask I wear
I am drowning in my weakness
With a test that I still bare
 
I know that I should walk away
From all the devil’s schemes
Every day he comes alongside
Robbing all my righteous dreams
 
Every word of praise I’m singing
Works to drown his dreadful voice
Still I find my flesh is weakened
Even though my soul rejoiced
 
God of heaven, Lord of mercy
Take away this heart of stone
Fill me with desire that’s burning
Set my mind on you alone
 
Again I raise my soul to praise Him
He has made me pure within
I will be forever grateful
Mercy greater than my sin

Endure

When I am desperate for a touch from God
And He seems so far away
I lean on friends and those I trust
To get me through each day
 
Sometimes I understand His plan
And other times I don't
But I always know He's in control
And that truth I won't let go.
 
I hurt deep down inside today
For the trouble of a friend
I can only trust the Lord will show
His strong and mighty hand.
 
For when darkness clouds each weary day
And the sun seems dim and weak
I know my God will come to me
How I long to hear Him speak
 
He'll tell me that He loves me
And His plan is good and sure
He'll tell me that He knows my hurt
He'll tell me to endure
 
He'll tell me in the end I'll see
Why I had to walk this road
Until that time, He'll carry me
And lighten up my load

Fake News

This world is full of guessing
What the truth is and is not
The news around the world
Seems often to be bought 

Two sides that can't agree
On what course they should take
Makes for a lot of wordplay
That makes the truth seem fake 

There's one thing that I know 
Will always speak the truth
That is the Holy Bible
God's Word to me and you 

It tells me Jesus came to earth
And gave His life away 
A sacrifice for all my sins
So He could make a way 

No oversimplification
Is in these words today
If you will ask forgiveness
You too will find the way 

His way is to eternal life 
With Peace and joy for you
The fake news that appears down here
Gives way to God's good news

Two Things

There’s only two things you must know
To be all you can be
Thing one is His great mercy
Thing two is grace that’s free
 
Mercy reached out to touch our lives
When Jesus came from above
Took the form of a baby
Because of His great love
 
Mercy was with Him every day
As He healed all that would come
Taught the ways of the Kingdom
Truly was God’s Son
 
Mercy then took Him to the cross
Where He bled and died for me
Mercy rose Him up from the grave
So I’d live eternally
 
The greatest show of mercy
The world has ever seen
Is something I must know deep down
Because it was done for me          
 
Grace has supplied my every need
From the moment I was born
From the fresh air that I breath each day
To the sunrise every morn
 
Grace followed us as we grew in years
For it truly gave us life
Each trial that we faced has passed
And grace helped us survive
 
Grace gave the greatest gift of all
When we asked the Savior in
By grace are you saved through faith my friend
It is grace that makes you win
 
This grace that’s so amazing
Grace always blesses me
He gives it freely to us
Supplying ever need
 
When you are looking out ahead
At what your life may bring
Make sure that grace and mercy
Are the most important thing

Big Brother

I have a big brother who calls me by name
Whenever I need Him He comes with a plan
No weapon against me will ever stand
My brother will save me by His mighty hand
 
I have a big brother and He has my back
When resources dwindle I have no lack
Because of His mercy the world gives me slack
And I have relief when the lender attacks
 
I have a big brother no doctor is He
But when sickness does come all symptoms will flee
When Pain tries to curse me His blood I will plead
Because by His blood I am healed and set free
 
I have a big brother with Him I’ll abide
When trouble comes near me in His arms I’ll hide
A refuge and fortress in He always provides
I know I am safe when he stands by my side
 
I have a big brother Jesus is His name
Once I cam to know Him I’ve not been the same
Each day I will rise up and give Him my praise
For He is on my side all of my days

I Had Been Good

I wandered aimlessly about
Not knowing I was wrong 
Thinking all the while
That God would go along 
 
He didn't mind my sin
He really understood 
After all most of my life
I really had been good 
 
Then i heard that Jesus 
Was God's only true Son
I learned He died for me
So my sins would be gone 
 
He took all my transgression 
He nailed it to that cross
'Twas then I realized 
What my sin truly cost
 
I asked Him to forgive me
To wash my sins away
I told Him I would make Him Lord 
I'd serve Him every fay
 
Now I am bound for heaven
I pray that you are too
Make Jesus Christ your Lord today 
His love will pardon you

Through the Storm

I come to you down on my knees
Hoping you will hear my plea
Ease my suff'ring ease my pain
So I can praise you once again
 
You speak to me so plain and clear
Making sure that I will hear
When you praise me through the storm
I will rescue you from harm
 
Through the storm I'll praise you 
Through the storm I'll worship 
Every trial
Every test
Will find me praising you
 
I rise up from my knees in haste
I lift my voice in grateful praise
Your word has spoken to my heart
From your praise I'll not depart
 
Hallelujah hallelujah 
Hallelujah to my King
Hallelujah hallelujah
Praise to you I sing
 
Through the storm I'll praise you 
Through the storm I'll worship 
Every trial
Every test
Will find me praising you
