Miracle Child

The young girl was praying on bended knee saying Lord I will follow wherever you lead
With this child my family will send me away ‘til the day the baby is born.
The young man asked why he should still love the lass when the child she carried he knew was not his
All the world would mock her and treat her as dirt and the hurt would never return

But the Angel had told them the child would be theirs that He would be special and they should not care
How the world would respond to this miracle child
So they trusted in the Lord.  Yes they trusted in the Lord.

 CHORUS
They called His name Jesus, Emmanuel
Ki-ing of all kings, Lord of all
 Wonderful Savior, Prince of peace
 Emmanuel, God is wi-ith us.

They followed the road down to Bethlehem where the child would be born, in a manger lay
And they settled him down in the soft, cool hay and they prayed, giving thanks to the Lord

Then kings from afar came bearing great gifts and shepherds left flocks just to kneel at His feet
The star was so bright ‘bove the place where he lay
‘Twas the birthday of the King.  The birthday of the King!
All heaven rejoiced at the sound of His coming, on earth all was quiet and still
The child in the manger brought peace to all men, and His message would be of good will

 CHORUS

The Good News

Have you heard the news?  It came out today.
How a child was born and in a manger lay.
Have you seen the star shining oh so bright?
Right above our heads, making day of night.
How can all this be?  What can these things mean?
Is it coincidence or a miracle we see?

 Where is this little child?
I hear he’s meek and mild.
I hear he’s come to save the world.
How can a baby boy bring all the earth such joy?
Is he the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

Shepherds keep their watch In a quiet field
When a host of angels in the sky appear
They sing highest praise, saying do not fear.
A child is born this day – he’s in a manger near
How can all this be?  What can these things mean?
Is it a vision, or have we just dreamed a dream?

 Where is this newborn babe?
 The angels told the way.
They said he’s come to bring us peace
How can a baby boy bring all the earth such joy.
Is he the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

Mary lifts her head.  Joseph lifts his arms.
The sing praise to God for the wondrous thing he’s done
Shepherds join in song.  Wise men sing along.
Hosanna to God’s precious Holy Son

He is the King of Kings.  He is the Lord of Lords.    Sing Emanuel to the Lord
He is the King of Kings.  He is the Lord of Lords.    Sing Emanuel to the Lord
Sing Emanuel to the Lord.  Sing Emanuel to the Lord.  Sing Emanuel to the Lord

My Christmas Gift

I searched for a gift this Christmas
A gift I could give to all
It would have to be inexpensive
 And hopefully rather small

I shopped on the net for days
 And nothing seemed quite right
So I went to some stores in the city
And I looked for several nights

But the perfect gift was elusive
Nothing I saw seemed to fit
I started to think it was hopeless
But then found the perfect gift

It was free to any who wanted
It was small, so I’d keep it in hand
It was easy to give out to others
I decided that this fit the plan

This gift didn’t need to be wrapped up
And it wasn’t some cute little toy
All I had to do was give it
The recipient would have much joy

 I’m giving Jesus this Christmas
I’m telling my friends of His love
I’m sharing with them His salvation
And His mercy that rains from above

I’ll share with them the Christmas story
And the Easter story as well
They will hear how much He loves them
They’ll be touched by the story I tell

This gift will last them a lifetime
 And they’ll live for eternity
Safe in the arms of the Savior
 Forever they will be free

This Christmas give all a present
That will last for the rest of time
 Give everyone Jesus
And give them the gift of life.

This Christmas

 Amidst all of the packages
 That sit under the tree
As I look around the house
 Decorated in beauty
And I smell the sweet aroma
Of the up and coming feast
I can’t help but think of Him

And when the day is over
And the crowd is heading home
I will sit in my nice lounge chair
And my mind will surely roam
 Perhaps I’ll take a nap
As I take some time alone
To give thanks to my Savior and Lord

 Let’s lift up holy hands
 To Jesus Christ our Lord
 This Christmas
 Let’s lift our voices high
To the one that we adore
 This Christmas

 Let’s fully magnify
The one who came to die
 Let’s shout aloud our praise
 Because He gave us life
 Let’s worship the great name
 Of our Savior Jesus Christ
 This Christmas Day

He came to earth a babe
 And in a manger lay
 He gave up heavens throne
To come to earth this day
 Shepherds came to worship
 Wise Man kneeled and prayed
As they gave their gifts to Him that day

He grew to be a man
 Anointed from above
 And then condemned to die
To show us of His love
He gave His life for me
 His mercy is enough
 This Christmas Day

 Let’s lift up holy hands
 To Jesus Christ our Lord
 This Christmas
 Let’s lift our voices high
To the one that we adore
 This Christmas

 Let’s fully magnify
The one who came to die
 Let’s shout aloud our praise
 Because He gave us life
 Let’s worship the great name
 Of our Savior Jesus Christ
 This Christmas Day

I Love That Name

I look up to the heavens and wonder Who Am I
That you would send your Son to die for me
And then I realize it’s not who I am
But who you are that matters most to me

You are mercy.  You are grace
You are righteousness deserving of my praise
You are holy.  You are awesome
I will lift my voice and worship your sweet name

The name of Jesus, oh how wonderful
The name of Jesus, oh how marvelous
The name of Jesus, oh how glorious
I love that name.  I love that name
Christmas Poetry

Christmas Cheer

It’s once again that time of year
When we ring out our Christmas cheer
We sing the songs of Jesus birth
Declaring Him through all the earth

 Hark the Herald angels sing
Hear the bells oh hear them ring
 O come oh come Emmanuel
A silent night for all to tell

 Far away in manger lay
What child is this who sleeps in hay
Three great kings come from afar
Joy to the world beneath that star

We’ve heard angels from on high
 Little town of Bethlehem sighs
Come all ye faithful raise your voice
Come let us adore our Lord

In all these songs we give Him praise
For He our sin has far erased
This Christmas time I hope you know
The reason for the seasons show

Let Christ be lifted high above
Tell all your friends of His great love
That He would leave His royal throne
To come to earth and die alone

His Mercy Has Covered Me

 My Savior rescued me
 From all my misery
He set my heart on fire
 He gave me His desire
 He’s with me every day
He guides me in His way
He is my hope and strength
I lay my life at His feet

And I sing Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb
I sing Holy, holy, holy is the Lamb
What a wonderful gift He has given to me
His grace washed my sin away
Now I rest in His arms and I look in His eyes
 I see His mercy
 His mercy has covered me

One Very Special Night

 One night
 One very special night
 So many years ago
 Changed the course of History
 That baby in a manger
 So forgotten by the world
 Attended to by shepherds
 Visited by Kings
 Wrapped in tattered cloths
 And sleeping on the hay
 All but a silent night
 With Sheep baaing
 And horses whinnying
 Cows mooing
 and donkeys adding hee-haws
 They celebrated His birth
 They praised His coming
 They witnessed His arrival
 While the world slept on
 Don't let this Christmas pass
 Without recognizing the past
Without recognizing that it changed the world
 Don't let this Christmas pass
 Without looking in that manger
 At a lowly child
 Who would change all mankind
 Forever.

So Few

He was born in a stable in little Bethlehem
Laid in a manger sleeping on the hay
Angels beckoned shepherds and kings from other lands
To see the Son of God that day

What they all knew is that He was born a King
Despite the surroundings they could see
Mary and Joseph knew glad tidings He would bring
The Son of Man would show the way

 Oh, what a blessing
 Oh , what an honor
Oh, what a solemn call it is
So few had come to the baby born that night
So few knew Him as a King

Today we decorate with lights and candy canes
Presents are set under a Christmas tree
But there are so few that really recognize the day
As a day they celebrate their King

They think He’s a prophet or a teacher of great truths
They think He’s a wise man with a gift
Some even think He’s a fable and never really lived
Oh how wrong they are to miss the King

 Oh, what a blessing
 Oh, what an honor
Oh, what a solemn call it is
To be among the few who call this baby King
So few make Him Lord of their lives

So few bow down to the baby born that night
So few know the Savior has arrived
So few recognize He came to give His life
So few will bow before His throne

 The shepherds Knew the story
The wise men knew the story
Mary and Joseph knew the story
 Do you?

All Because of Christmas

I walk through the city and see the lights
Red, green and blue, they shine so bright
Each house is lit up in the night
 All because of Christmas

Merchants are smiling as people pay
For merchandise they bought that day
They smile as people shop and play
 All because of Christmas

Churches are bustling with holiday fare
Candies and cookies abundant are there
The choirs are singing their songs of cheer
 All because of Christmas

Families will gather from miles away
Have not been together for many a day
They get along fine and then go their way
 All because of Christmas

But Christmas is more than shopping and food
More than the lights or family viewed
Christmas is when a baby was born
 A long, long time ago

He was born in a stable that Holy night
Above shone a star of incredible light
Angels announced His birth that day
 A long, long time ago

He did not come a good life to live
He came to die and to pardon our sin
Now we are free from guilt and shame
 And live forever with Him

This Christmas you can enjoy the lights
The food and the family and presents all right
But please don’t forget that babe long ago
Who gave His life just for you
