What a night, what a night, what a very special night See the star in the sky shining oh so bright See the shepherds watching their flocks See the wise men follow the star Knowing not what’s to come this very special night Mary and Joseph travelled oh so many miles They awaited the birth of their first child Looking for a room at the inn There was no room for them within A stable would be there room for the night The shepherds were startled by an Angelic light Do not be afraid echoed through the night I bring good tidings of Joy Peace on earth for girls and boys And a host of Angels Loud Hosannas sing What a night, what a night, what a very special night See the star in the sky shining oh so bright See the shepherds watching their flocks See the wise men follow the star Knowing not what’s to come this very special night They came with their flocks to find that babe Wrapped in some clothes and laid in the hay They knelt down to worship Him Assured He’s the coming King Then for a while they would worship and stay Mary and Joseph knew their child was special They’d both been told of His coming arrival But they held their peace When the shepherds did speak And asked why they were summoned by angels What a night, what a night, what a very special night See the star in the sky shining oh so bright See the shepherds watching their flocks See the wise men follow the star Knowing not what’s to come this very special night The wise men arrived from the east they had come They knew that the star was a sign from above Their gifts they did bear Gold, incense and myrrh They knelt down to worship this child filled with love Thus, the scene was set No one would forget That the Son of God came as a babe And for many years Mary shed her tears For she knew what a price he would pay What a night, what a night, what a very special night See the star in the sky shining oh so bright See the shepherds watching their flocks See the wise men follow the star Knowing not what’s to come this very special night
One night One very special night So many years ago Changed the course of History That baby in a manger So forgotten by the world Attended to by shepherds Visited by Kings Wrapped in tattered cloths And sleeping on the hay All but a silent night With Sheep baaing And horses whinnying Cows mooing and donkeys adding hee-haws They celebrated His birth They praised His coming They witnessed His arrival While the world slept on Don't let this Christmas pass Without recognizing the past Without recognizing that it changed the world Don't let this Christmas pass Without looking in that manger At a lowly child Who would change all mankind Forever.
Have you ever thought it strange That a baby in a manger Would be the one who came to set men free And have you ever stopped to think About the fact that Heaven’s King Left His throne to come and die for you and me You may think it’s fable He was born in lowly stable But the story has withstood the test of time And I thought that you should know Why I’ve come to love Him so For I want you to know this Lord of Life You see, He changed my life When I came to Him that time That my life was spinning out of control He forgave all of my sin And He put His spirit in Now He walks with me wherever I may go Because this baby in the manger Was no ordinary stranger But the Son of God who came to earth that day He shared the Father’s love And brought healing from above And He said He was the truth the life the way His teaching brought division Put the leaders in derision They decided that He must be put to death So they shouted crucify Him On a cross they railed against Him And He gave His life in one last gasp of breath The final price was paid For the sin of human race And now we are set free forevermore And it all began that day In a stable filled with hay And a baby who the blessed Mary bore. This Christmas don’t forget The great payment for our debt That was made by that baby in the hay He was born to die for me And to set the captive free Let us celebrate His birth this Christmas day
