Miracle Child

The young girl was praying on bended knee saying Lord I will follow wherever you lead
With this child my family will send me away ‘til the day the baby is born.
The young man asked why he should still love the lass when the child she carried he knew was not his
All the world would mock her and treat her as dirt and the hurt would never return

But the Angel had told them the child would be theirs that He would be special and they should not care
How the world would respond to this miracle child
So they trusted in the Lord.  Yes they trusted in the Lord.

 CHORUS
They called His name Jesus, Emmanuel
Ki-ing of all kings, Lord of all
 Wonderful Savior, Prince of peace
 Emmanuel, God is wi-ith us.

They followed the road down to Bethlehem where the child would be born, in a manger lay
And they settled him down in the soft, cool hay and they prayed, giving thanks to the Lord

Then kings from afar came bearing great gifts and shepherds left flocks just to kneel at His feet
The star was so bright ‘bove the place where he lay
‘Twas the birthday of the King.  The birthday of the King!
All heaven rejoiced at the sound of His coming, on earth all was quiet and still
The child in the manger brought peace to all men, and His message would be of good will

 CHORUS

The Good News

Have you heard the news?  It came out today.
How a child was born and in a manger lay.
Have you seen the star shining oh so bright?
Right above our heads, making day of night.
How can all this be?  What can these things mean?
Is it coincidence or a miracle we see?

 Where is this little child?
I hear he’s meek and mild.
I hear he’s come to save the world.
How can a baby boy bring all the earth such joy?
Is he the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

Shepherds keep their watch In a quiet field
When a host of angels in the sky appear
They sing highest praise, saying do not fear.
A child is born this day – he’s in a manger near
How can all this be?  What can these things mean?
Is it a vision, or have we just dreamed a dream?

 Where is this newborn babe?
 The angels told the way.
They said he’s come to bring us peace
How can a baby boy bring all the earth such joy.
Is he the King of Kings and Lord of Lords?

Mary lifts her head.  Joseph lifts his arms.
The sing praise to God for the wondrous thing he’s done
Shepherds join in song.  Wise men sing along.
Hosanna to God’s precious Holy Son

He is the King of Kings.  He is the Lord of Lords.    Sing Emanuel to the Lord
He is the King of Kings.  He is the Lord of Lords.    Sing Emanuel to the Lord
Sing Emanuel to the Lord.  Sing Emanuel to the Lord.  Sing Emanuel to the Lord

Meek and Mild

She came riding on a donkey
 From many towns away
Ready to give birth to her first child
The ride she took was rugged
 The trail sometimes was steep
Her journey would go on for many miles

Joseph walked and held the reins
 Guiding her along
Wishing he could ease the pain she felt
 When they reached their destination
 Relief did fill their souls
They sought a room to settle for the night

The innkeeper did all He could
To find for them a room
But a stable was the only place he had
Mary's child was born that night
In a manger filled with hay
Wrapped in rags the blessed Savior lay

 Meek and mild
 Mother and child
 Filled all prophecy that night
 Angels praised
 Shepherds gazed
 Below the star so bright

 Shepherds watching flocks that night
 Were summoned by the angels
Go and see the babe in Bethlehem
He us Savior Christ to all
 Peace is what He brings
Glory be to God in the highest

 As they knelt before Him
 They realized their place
As all of history would mark this day
 Simple lowly shepherds
Were called to be the ones
They were the first to bow to Him and pray

 Not the rich
 Not the mighty
 Not the ones in power
 He calls us in humility
 To worship Him this hour

 Meek and mild
 Mother and child
 Filled all prophecy that night
 Angels praised
 Shepherds gazed
 Below the star so bright
