All Through The Day

When I open my eyes every morning

I rejoice that I’m still alive

And I give praise to Jesus my Savior

Who has saved me and gave me new life

When  I rise from my bed every morning

I feel that I am so blessed

That I still have the strength to be mobile

And to rise up after my rest

When I eat that good meal in the morning

I praise God for all He gives

For He’s the provider of all I have

And His love is why I exist

All through the day I praise Him

I worship His arms which embrace

For He opens my eyes to see Him

And He gives His amazing grace

Reflection

I look up at the moon and am amazed

At how it reflects the sun

different every day

Sometimes it is full and bright

And other days completely gone

Some days it shows a smile

And other days a frown

And I wonder, and ask myself

Is this how I reflect the Son, Jesus Christ?

Some days I shine His light bright

But other days people wonder

If  really am a Christian?

Do I  some days have a bright smile

And other days seem down and out?

If my desire is to win souls

and bring in the harvest

I must shine the light of Christ brightly

In every situation.

He is in control of my life

So nothing can go wrong

That He is not prepared for

and will see me through

Unlike the moon

which has no say in how it will reflect the sun

I can decide how I will reflect the Son

Help me Lord to shine brightly

So others will be attracted to the light

And give you the glory

Zombies and Vampires and Ghosts

There are many today who believe

In zombies and vampires and ghosts

They are splashed over all the TV

Many think that they’re really the most

While I hate to disrupt your life

I thought I should calm your obsession

These weird creatures you think are alive

Are only the devil’s distraction

No zombies come back from the dead

Only Jesus survived the tomb

And no vampires seeking your blood

His blood sacrificed was enough

And as for ghosts, well there’s one

The Holy Ghost, full of great power

Part of the three in one

Partner with Jesus and the Father

Jesus Will Carry You

When life’s got you down

And you feel out of place

Jesus will carry you

If you just feel alone

And your losing the race

Jesus will carry you

He’ll carry you through your trials

He’ll carry you through your storm

He’ll carry you through the valley

When everything seems to do harm

He’ll carry you into tomorrow

And He’ll stay right there by your side

Because He promised He’d never forsake you

And His promises always abide

So don’t get all down

And don;t be dismayed

Jesus will carry you

And when it’s all over

And your back on your feet

You can thank Him for carrying you

Uncomplicated Life

Life can be so complicated

When I try it on my own

The decisions that I make can be so wrong

I find that I am drowning

In a sea of fear and doubt

And I’m always learning that I’m not that strong

But with Jesus in my life

I can walk in confidence

That He will bring me through my various tests

And all my fears and doubts

Are dwarfed by His great love

I find that He makes me be at my best

Reach out to Jesus

I though success was in my grasp so any years ago

I had a good job, lots of friends, and always on the go

But soon I realized that I was on a troubled road

I had to turn around and start again

It was then I met Jesus, and my life turned upside down

I learned that His reach beckoned me to come to higher ground

And so I asked Him in my heart, His peace and joy I found

His blessings started flowing in my life

Now He asks me to reach out to others who need lost

To tell them their redemption’s near for He has paid the cost

They  simply need to reach out and accept Him at the cross

And they will realize His peace today

Finding Favor

I don’t seek earthly possessions

I don’t try to fall for obsessions

I just seek my Lord

The one I adore

To teach me life’s valuable lessons

My life is lived to serve my Savior

He is the one that I savor

I’m not obsessed

Nor am I possessed

It’s in His arms I find favor

Hidden

I see so many Christians

(Or at least that’s what they say)

Who profess that Jesus is their Lord

But they live a different way

On the surface they look very good

And they fool me quite a bit

But underneath and in their heart

They really don’t have it.

They gossip of their neighbors

And do honof them

They tear apart the pastor

When they should pray for him

Their ways are full of sinful things

When Christ asks righteousness

And often they complain and gripe

When they are oh so blessed

Hidden is humility

Pride is on display

Hidden is forgiveness

Anger comes each day

Hidden is compassion

They just walk on by

Hidden is their love for God

They just don’t testify

I pray today that you are not

One who hides their faith

That you are not ashamed to say

That Jesus is the way.

Heavens Door

I went through life when I was young

Aimlessly at best

Drugs and booze and sex  were found

And sober was a test

I thought I loved the life I lived

But one day realized

That all the things that I believed

Would soon turn into lies

Maybe if I’d turned away

From all the party life

And maybe if I’d told the truth

Instead of telling lies

And maybe if hadn’t stolen

Things throughout’t my life

I’d have a home in heaven

And things would be all right

But then I learned there’s just one way

To get through heaven’s door

Acepting Jesus as my Savior

Gets me there for sure

There are no maybes in Gods word

His promises endure

So ask Him in your heart today

And heaven will be yours

Fiery conclusion

One day the devil came calling to me

He said I have the pleasure for which you seek

I followed Him gladly, but the joke was on me

His pleasure was all an illusion

I soon was a mess, my life upside down

Then Jesus came calling, and I turned around

He planted my feet on solid ground

And took away my delusion

Now I follow Him daily and He walks with me

I’ve learned that my future’s secure as can be

And the  joke that the devil can set us free

Ends up in a fiery conclusion
