A Better Way

I’d been a mess most of my life
From high school on I caused much strife
My mouth was harsh with nasty words
My actions full of devilish works

I ran into a childhood friend
Who told that my life could mend
He said that Jesus loved me so
I doubted all the words he spoke

I went to visit him one day
Convinced there was a better way
I bowed my head and softly prayed
Then suddenly by life was changed

If you are headed down a road
That seems to leave you with a load
Cast all your cares on Christ today
He’ll  show you that better way.

Softly Prayed

I came before the Lord today
Bowed my head and softly prayed
That this day He would make a way
For all those who are lost

I brought the sick before His throne
Asked my Lord to make them whole
That they’d make Him their very own
Because He paid the cost

I brought the troubled do His feet
Requested that he give them peace
That this night they would get some sleep
While resting in His grace

The doubters were the next in line
I asked that each would take some time
To watch the stars and see them shine
Your glory they will face

I brought the lame and maimed and poor
All those whom I have prayed before
Please show them you are still their Lord
And heal them every one

I brought my church that we would know
That you are working way below
We just need to walk real slow
So we can see your plan

Even though our eyes can’t see
What you are doing inside each
One day we’ll see your majesty
We’ll grow throughout the land

I finished up my prayer at last
Then realized much time had passed
I know you will answer fast
Because you love us so

His Mercy Covers

Deeper

His love runs deeper than the oceans
Trenches way below the surface of the seas
Life that we cannot imagine lives there
Full of vibrant color
Variety beyond compare
The depths of the deep hold vast treasures
Treasures that we long for
Crave for
Yearn for
So is the depth of His love
He engulfs us in His arms
Holds us tightly and does not let go
Like the intense pressure of the water
In the deepest caverns of the oceans expanse
Pressure that would suffocate us it is so intense
Instead it soothes us
Like a gentle running river
Flowing into the ocean depths
His love runs deep in my soul
Deeper than anything else I know
It is there when I sink lower than I dare
There when everything else seems gone
There when I feel lost and alone
His love remains
His love sustains
His live reaches into the depth of my despair
It pulls me safely out of the sinking sand
No matter how deep I may sink
His love runs deeper

Higher

He is high and lifted up
Higher than the rooftops
They adorn my dwelling places
Where He protects me and shelters me
They protect me from rain and snow
They keep out the cold and heat
Higher than the treetops
Through which the wind gently blows
Rustling the leaves in symphony
Providing accompaniment to the singing birds
Letting us know He is near
So close, moving all the time
Their limbs reaching up to the light
Reaching up to the heavens in praise to Him
Higher than the mountains
Majestic and beautiful
Rising so elegantly to the skies
Reigning over all the earth in size and strength
Unmovable and unshakable
Higher than clouds
Roaming over the earth as the Spirit moves
Providing shade and beauty
Brining the former and latter rain
Clapping with thunder and bursting with lighting
Coming in on the wind
Ever changing their shape and size
Ever bringing new delights
Higher than the stars
Displaying the glory of God
Lighting up the heavens eternally
Giving us direction and stability
Beyond all we can see or imagine
Beyond what our minds can grasp
He looks down at the stars
He looks down over the mountains
He looks down through the clouds
He looks down past the treetops
He looks down past the rooftop of my house
And He lifts me up

 

Forever Over All

The time is coming soon
When Jesus will return
The clouds will open wide
The trumpet shall be heard

He’ll come for all the saints
Who are faithful to His word
They will meet Him in the air
Forever with our Lord

We’ll sing glory hallelujah
Holy is His name
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy Holy Holy
Is the King of Kings
Forever over all He shall reign

In one blink of an eye
The scene above will come
Are you ready for His call
Have you made Him number one

If you haven’t now’s the time
Bow your knee and call to Him
He is ready to forgive you
And cleanse you from your sin

We’ll sing glory hallelujah
Holy is His name
Worthy is the Lamb who was slain
Holy Holy Holy
Is the King of Kings
Forever over all he shall reign

This Rough Vessel

I ask you not to give me praise
For all these words I share
Lift up your praise to God above
He every verse prepares

I simply jot the words He gives
I cannot fathom why
He’s chosen this rough vessel
To bless so many lives

Give God all the glory
Give Him all the praise
Lift your eyes to heaven
Lift His Holy Name

Please leave here your comments
How His verse blesses you
Or how you can relate
To what He says to you

I believe that He is speaking
To your heart throughout the day
This verse that I am sharing
Is just one more of His ways

Once Upon A Time

I once had sorrow then joy filled my heart
I once had troubles then peace stilled the storm
I once was doubtful then faith came along
My life is not what it once was

Once upon a time I was lost
Wondering if I would survive
Then Jesus came in
He took all my sin
Now I am free and alive

I once was bound up then hope brought me out
I once was fearful then love brought a shout
I once had weakness them He gave me strength
Now my life rests in Him

Once upon a time I was useless
Nothing of good came from me
Then Jesus did call
Now I give my all
To be what He made me to be

No more will I go drifting
No more will I live in fear
No more will I be doubting
Jesus is all I need

Once upon a time I was lost

The Clouds Will Part

I had a premonition
It was not intuition
It was a thought that filled my soul and mind
That sooner than we think
In time that’s just a blink
The clouds will part and startle all mankind

Jesus will come calling
For all His faithful followers
To join Him in the heaven’s up above
Have you made Him your Savior
Have you made Him Lord forever
Please ask forgiveness now
Make Him the Lord of all
Then you will join the faithful in the clouds

Guiding Light

For such a time as this
I was born into this world
To write this little poem God gave to me
Then also in this time
He brought you to this place
That you would read these words that God has breathed

Our Father calls to you
From deep within your soul
Asking you to make His plan fulfilled
His love is so immense
His compassion so intense
He gave us life to carry out His will

Do justly love mercy
Walk humbly with your God
That is what our Lord requires of you
It may sound rather simple
But it takes all of our days
Do learn what these words ask us all to do

Ask the Lord today
His wisdom to impart
That you would know all he wants you to do
To carry out these things
Make a difference in this world
As His word becomes alive all over you

It is no coincidence
That you have read these words
The Lord has given me this day to write
Do justly love mercy
Walk humbly with your God
Let these three things become your guiding light
