Darkness Can Not Stay

 I saw the Light.
 It shone in my heart,
 And darkness fled before it.
Where the Light shines in my life
 Darkness cannot stay.
 Oh, Lord
Help me open all the doors in my life to your Light.
Help me allow all my darkness to be purged
 By your glorious Light.
The Light of your word will heal
The Light of your word will deliver me
The Light of your word will set me free
The Light of your word will bring me peace
The Light of your word will bring me Joy
The Light of your word will help me love my neighbor as myself
The Light of your word brings me life abundantly
Open the eyes of my heart, Lord
So that I may see your glorious Light.
So darkness will be removed from my life
And I will walk with you every moment of everyday.

It’s All Good

When I come up against an ocean of fear
And doubt surrounds me like the enemy
There is nowhere to turn for escape
 There is nowhere to hide
 Defeat seems imminent
 I hear you say
 It’s all good

When the trials are hotter than I can stand
And the lion is waiting in his den
There is no hope for relief
 There is nowhere to run
Death is right around the corner
 I hear you say
 It’s all good

I turned the sea to dry land
 I turned air into manna
 I turned water into wine
 I turned bones into flesh
 I turned walls into rubble
 I turned death to life
I turned all these things before
 I can turn them again

 So when all seems lost
And there’s nothing left to do
 Turn to Jesus
 Turn to prayer
 Turn to peace
 Turn to joy
 Turn to hope
 Because in the end
No matter what it looks like now
No matter how bad it might seem
 No matter what you think
 God says it’s all good

Forever I Am Yours

I don’t know why you love me Lord
But you do.  Yes, you do
I don’t know why you love me
 But you do.

I’m not a model citizen for heaven
So many things I don’t deserve
Yet you have given me your mercy
 You’ve given me a heart that’s pure

The love you’ve shown me has saved me
From every trial that I might face
By faith I’ll follow in your footsteps
I know I’ll never lose your grace

I don’t know why you saved me Lord
But you did.  Yes you did.
I don’t know why you saved me Lord
 But you did

I know you’ve called me out of darkness
So I can show the world your holy light
I pray my life will be a witness
 Of your redeeming sacrifice

You took on the stripes, the curses of man
The crown on your head and the nails in your hands
You carried your cross to calvary’s hill
You gave up your life so I could be filled
 With your love.  Hallelujah
 Hallelujah.  Hallelujah

I don’ know why you love me
But you do.  I know you do
I don’t know why you saved me
But you did.  Oh Yes, you did
Your love has saved me forever
Your love has saved me forever
Your love has saved me forever
Forever I am your, forever I am yours!

I’ve Got To Rise

There are times that I get down
From the trials of this life
It is then I realize
I’ve got to rise

It seems I am in a pit
And the grave is not too far
I gaze up into the skies
I’ve got to rise

Rise up from the ashes
Rise up from the deep
Rise up from the sin that weighs me down
Rise up from my torment
Into His loving arms
Jesus stands there waiting
Holding out His hand
I gaze into His eyes and rise up

I can see a brighter future
But there’s one thing I must do
I must take back my life
I’ve got to rise

Only by His power
Only by His blood
Only by the Spirit of the Lord
Rising out of darkness
Into glorious light
Rising out of bondage
Into free delight
I’ve got to rise
I’ve got to rise

Rise up from the ashes
Rise up from the deep
Rise up from the sin that weighs me down
Rise up from my torment
Into His loving arms
Jesus stands there waiting
Holding out His hand
I gaze into His eyes and rise up

Shall The Dead Arise?

Based on Psalm 88:10a “Shall the dead arise to praise him”

I was dead
Wrapped up in sin
Held back by doubt
Darkness was all around me
I could not see where to go next
I could not imaging getting free
God was quiet
I wondered if He even heard my cries
I felt so alone
So far away
Like a dead man in the grave
Stinking with sin
No hope
No future
No life

Then Jesus came
Commanded the stone be rolled away
And it was
Light flooded into the room
My sin exposed
My shame announced
Blinded by the light
I covered my eyes
I could not stand before Him
The sinless Son of God
I was not worthy to even approach Him
I smelled of death
I walked like death
Sin all over me
No power
No strength
Ashamed

Then He cried out
“Come Forth”
His power stood me up
His love started my feet to moving
Still wrapped in my sin
I could not hold back
I could not stay where I was
I had to come out
Out of that grave
Out of that sin
Out of that death
Into the brightness of His glory’
His mercy
His grace
Then He said
”Unwrap Him”
The bindings of sin started to unravel
I could feel the weight slip off of me
I could feel the freedom all over me
I was free
Free
Free from sin
Free from doubt
Free from fear
No longer bound
Basking in the light of His love
Drinking of the living water
Drawing from the well
No more pain
No more suffering
No more darkness
No more shame

Then I praised Him
I thanked Him
I gave Him all the glory
Shall the dead arise?
Indeed they shall!
They shall arise to praise Him
Arise to bring Him honor
Arise by the power of His mercy
His grace
His love
Shout His praise
Shout
The victory is ours
The stone has rolled away
The bondage is all erased
I am free!
Jesus Life

Victory is Mine

He rose up like a standard
Arms stretched out
Feet tied together
Nailed to a cross
A crown of thorns on His head
Bleed dripping down
Sipping vinegar from a sponge
Winning my victory

The battle was raging
As he hung there to die
Satan thought he would win
He had the Son of God on the brink of death
Humiliated between two thieves
Soaked in blood from being scourged
No way to escape the nails
Pain inescapable
Hanging in defeat

But the battle had just begun
He shouted out “Father, Forgive them”
All my sins, not just there’s
All my failures, not just theirs
All my disobedience, not just theirs
All of it
Every single transgression I had ever done
Gone in three words from Jesus
My victory won
Then He said “It is finished”
Hung His head and died
Gave up His life for me
The devil cried “Victory”
The battle raged on

Jesus went to Satan’s lair
Brought the keys
Set the captives free
He didn’t die just for me
He died for all
Gave His life for all
Even those that had died
He gave new life
Their Spirits rose and walked the streets of Jerusalem
Abraham, Joseph, Moses, Jacob, David
Ruth, Hannah, Bathsheba, even Eve\
All were covered
All were set free
All gained Victory

On the third day
The stone rolled away
Jesus rose from the grave
Full or power and grace
The battle is over
The victory won
For all time
For all mankind

So why do I keep fighting?
Why do I let the enemy have his way?
Why do I allow his torment?
Why do I even listen?
He is defeated
Jesus has won my victory
It’s time to walk in that victory
To put aside my defeat
To claim what He has already done
And make it mine today
Victory is mine.

His Abiding Love

I sit here and I tremble at a world out of control
I wonder what will happen as we travel down the road
Will the chaos just increase or will it come to rest
Regardless of what happens I know God will do His best/

You see I do not have to fear what man can do to me
All I need to do is be what God wants me to be
If I follow in His ways and always do His will
I will find my soul will rest when I will just be still

For in that time of stillness He gently speaks to me
He opens up my eyes so that I can clearly see
That all this world can offer will never quite compare
To the peace that He can give me in these times of great despair

Do not think upon what the enemy may do
Set your mind on Jesus for His promises are true
This world will one day fall away and darkness fill the sky
My trust will be in Jesus and He will be my guide

He’ll guide me safely through the storms that will soon come my way
He’ll guide me through the wilderness and strengthen me each day
He’ll walk with me and talk with me and give me peace of mind
While all the while He’ll help me to be gentle and be kind

You see, no greater force is there than His abiding love
Against all of the evil of this world it is enough
So get down on your knees and say a prayer tonight
Lord fill my heart with all that is pure and good and right

Send me out into this world that is growing ever dark
Make me sound the trumpet loud, let me be the spark
The fire of the Holy Ghost is needed everywhere
Help me be the light that will shine and fill the air

You Found Me

When I was lost and all alone
You found me
When my strength was almost gone
You found me
When I just could not go on
You found me and set me free

Free from the darkness in my life
Free from the fear that ate me alive
Free so my soul could now survive
You found me and set me free

Thank you Lord for not giving up
Thank you for showing me you are enough
Thank you for your amazing love
Thank you for finding me
