The Father Has Promised

The Father has promised us rest
In the midst of the trial and test
He will always give us His best
Because He has promised us rest

The Father has promised us peace
He will always set us at ease
All our worries will surely release
Because He has promised us peace

The Father has promised us joy
All our sorrows He will destroy
No enemies weapons annoy
Because He has promised us joy

The Father has promised us hope
Through every trial we will cope
Heaven is ours this we know

The Father has promised us love
That flows down from His glory above

God is determined to bless me

I’ve come to listen, Lord, to hear you speak
For your truth is what I seek

I long to hear your gentle voice
Come to me now and I’ll rejoice

For you speak life into my soul
You speak hope and make me whole

You speak wisdom so I might learn
You speak glory for which I yearn

You speak peace to calm my storms
You speak joy/ My heart you warm

Lord give me life today I ask
To hear your voice is my only task

Help me to think only on you

Who do I think I am? Am I someone extra special who is allowed the liberty to do whatever I want with my time? That’s the way the world looks at time. They look at it as their own possession, to be used and wasted on their own pursuits. Some serve God with a bit of their time, using the rest to make their own dreams and passions a reality. Some do not know God and they take time to do whatever their heart desires. Most people use their time on what they want, not considering what God wants them to do.

I don’t want to be in that crowd. I want to do what God wants me to do. To use every minutes for His glory. Maybe it’s business I need to do. Am I seeking His plan for my day or am I aimlessly walking through my plan for the day. In my devotions and writing, am I seeking His counsel or just trusting my own ability? Am I exercises for the right reasons? Is God in the center and not of to the side somewhere?

I am done wasting time. Time is on of the most precious gifts God has given us, and we should give it all back top Him. Doing our best all the time because He is right there with us. He knows when I waste even a minute. He knows what I should be doing next and whispers in my ear all the time to guide me through this life. I need to listen better!. I need to give my life into His hand so He can hold onto my right hand!

Nevertheless, I am continually with thee, thou that holdest me by my right hand

Lying in the hay
Shepherds gather ‘round
Bringing Him their praise

Behold the Son of Man
Teaching in the street
Healing all who come
Friend to all he meets

Behold the Lamb of God
Hung upon a tree
Beaten, bruised and tortured
All to set me free

Behold the Resurrection
Rising from the grave
Victory over death
Praise His Holy name

Behold the King of Kings’
Sitting on the throne
He’s the Lord of Lords
Worship Him Alone

I sit here and I tremble at a world out of control
I wonder what will happen as we travel down the road
Will the chaos just increase or will it come to rest
Regardless of what happens I know God will do His best/

You see I do not have to fear what man can do to me
All I need to do is be what God wants me to be
If I follow in His ways and always do His will
I will find my soul will rest when I will just be still

For in that time of stillness He gently speaks to me
He opens up my eyes so that I can clearly see
That all this world can offer will never quite compare
To the peace that He can give me in these times of great despair

Do not think upon what the enemy may do
Set your mind on Jesus for His promises are true
This world will one day fall away and darkness fill the sky
My trust will be in Jesus and He will be my guide

He’ll guide me safely through the storms that will soon come my way
He’ll guide me through the wilderness and strengthen me each day
He’ll walk with me and talk with me and give me peace of mind
While all the while He’ll help me to be gentle and be kind

You see, no greater force is there than His abiding love
Against all of the evil of this world it is enough
So get down on your knees and say a prayer tonight
Lord fill my heart with all that is pure and good and right

Send me out into this world that is growing ever dark
Make me sound the trumpet loud, let me be the spark
The fire of the Holy Ghost is needed everywhere
Help me be the light that will shine and fill the air
