A Blessing For You

May the Lord be with you
May His face shine upon you
May His grace wash over you
May His presence abide within you
May His Spirit anoint you
May His mercy pursue you
May His peace instill calm in you
May His joy take sorrow from you
May His hope inspire you
May His patience quiet you
May His power embolden you
May His strength encourage you
May His glory instill awe in you
May His faith cast doubt from you
May His love surround you
Forever and ever
Amen

There are times we wonder why He would love us. Why would He die for us? Why would He have mercy on us? Why would He leave His wonderful throne of glory and come to this earth as a little babe in a lowly manger? Why would he endure the constant murmuring and ridicule of the Pharisees? Why would He allow Himself to be taken by Roman soldiers, beaten within inches of His life, and be delivered to a cross? Why did He not call legions down from heaven to save Himself? Why did He not fight back? Why did He not tell Pilate who He really was? Why did He not defend Himself against the false witnesses? So many questions. All of them answered by one simple fact. He loved us so much He was willing to give His life as a ransom for our sins. All to bless us!

Receive this blessing today on your life. As the Holy Spirit has given it to me, so I penned it for you this day. Know that He loves you more than you can possibly imagine and that He wants was best for you. Know that not matter what you are going through right now He will make it come out for good. Know that He will never leave you or forsake you. Know that he will speak to you in a still small voice every hour of every day. Know that everything is going to be okay and be blessed!

John 3:16
For God so loved the world that he gave His only begotten Son, that whosoever believes in Him shall not perish but have everlasting life.

I Worship You

With all my heart and all my soul
I worship you. I worship you
With all my mind and all my strength
I worship you. I worship you

You are the truth, the light, the way
You give me hope for every day
Your joy and peace are here to stay
I worship you. I worship you

Holy, holy Lord
Worthy of my praise
Honor, glory power and might
I sing to you. I sing to you

This world worships a lot of gods. In this time of great tribulation due to COVID-19, people are scrambling to find hope. Their gods have been taken away from them. First to go was sports. One by one, seasons were cancelled or postponed, bringing a halt to television sports broadcasts. The idols of the game were set on the sidelines, hoping to one day be back on their lofty perch. Second was entertainment. With sports closing down, Hollywood soon followed. Movie theaters, concerts, zoos, Broadway shows all came to a halt. The stars who people idolized were set on the sidelines. Next was leisure travel. Campgrounds, hotels, theme parks, national parks were all closed. Restaurants closed their doors to become delivery specialists The allure of Mickey Mouse faded in the dust. Even our churches were told not to meet. Then our money was affected as businesses all over closed their doors leaving us all with a sense of fear to even go outside. And lastly our freedom was taken as, state by state, shelter in place orders were handed out. All these things we idolized.

God still sat on the throne. He was always there, will always be there, and is there today. What better time to lift up our voices in praise to the King of Kings and Lord of Lords. Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer has not changed. This world around us will slowly get back to normal. I hope and pray that during this time you have come to realize that all you can really depend on is Jesus. He is worthy of our praise!

Revelation 4:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 Thou art worthy, O Lord, to receive glory and honour and power: for thou hast created all things, and for thy pleasure they are and were created.

Jesus Life

Nothing At All

What could I do to have sins erased
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all
What did I do to deserve your grace
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all

What can I offer that will set me free
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all
What will you charge to rescue me
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all

I have been ransomed. I’ve been redeemed
All for no charge you have forgiven me
All that you ask is that I give my life
Just as you gave yours for me

What is the charge for the blessing you give
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all
What is the rent when in heaven I live
Nothing, Lord. Nothing at all

Free, Lord. You set me free
All for no charge you have forgiven me
Nothing I bring you. Nothing I have
Is worth what you’ve given to me

I have been ransomed. I’ve been redeemed
All for no charge you have forgiven me
All that you ask is that I give my life
Just as you gave yours for me

He was taken by a legion of soldiers in the middle of the night. An illegal court hearing was held where He was beaten and spit upon. They sent Him to Pilate where He was lashed 40 times. He had a crown of thorns pout on His head and was mocked and beaten by the guards. .He was offered up to be set free, but the crowd cried “Crucify Him.” He carried His own cross until the weight was too much and they had someone help Him. The nailed Him to that cross and set it upright. While hanging there, in the midst of that torture, he cried out “Father forgive them, for they know not what they do” Then he gave up Hie life for my sins. For my failures. To heal my diseases. I did nothing to earn my salvation and I can do nothing to buy His grace. Nothing at all. His mercy on my life is what rescued me. He gave that to me, and so much more, that day he died on the cross. Then He rose victorious and he is with me every day to guide me, watch over me, heals me, provide for me. All because He loves me. Despite my wretchedness, He loved me so much That He died for me. I did nothing to deserve His love. Nothing at all.

Isaiah 53:5-6 King James Version (KJV)
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was upon him; and with his stripes we are healed.
6 All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned every one to his own way; and the LORD hath laid on him the iniquity of us all.

The Believers Life

Unusual Love

It’s so unusual that I would ever worry
It’s so unusual that I would ever doubt
It’s so unusual that hope would die within me
I’m not sure I would find a way out

I cannot fathom not having faith in Jesus
I am not sure life would ever be the same
If He had not found me in the shadows
When He did the most unusual thing

He brought me to my knees
He brought my eyes to tears
As I cried out to Him
From way down deep within
He took my sins away
Gave new life that day
To a sinner such as I
Now I will testify

His love is unusual
His love is amazing
His love covers everything
My sin and my failures
I trusted my life to Him
Now He gives me everything
I will rest in His sweet arms
Unusual love

There are times I don’t understand it. Let’s face it! I was not the ideal candidate to become a witness for Jesus Christ. I was a drunk, drug addict, lived a perverted life and every sentence out of my mouth used His name as a curse. I had heard of this Jesus but just couldn’t figure out why he would love a derelict like me, nor did I care to know,. I was content with my miserable life, lonely and wandering with others who had the same afflictions as I. I figured life would go on just fine without some kind of religion flooding my mind. I had a good job, making and wasting pretty good money. I had a group of friends but in reality I was alone.

Then one day He led me (I know this now but did not know at the time) 1,500 miles to visit a friend. He led that friend to take me to a church service where I found out about this unusual love. I knew at the end that Jesus had died for my sins so that He could save me from a devil’s hell. I knew I did not want to go to that place. Later that week I gave my life to Him, my miserable life. His unusual love accepted me just the way I was. I knew I had been changed in that very instant. Life would never be the same because of His unusual love.

1 John 4:10 King James Version (KJV)
10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins.

Whisper

I heard a voice so softly whisper in my ear
I’m not sure who is speaking. My waking time is near
I roll myself back over and try to go to sleep
The voice returns once more and I ask the voice to speak

My child I want to tell you how much I love you so
How much I want to bless you. More than you could know
I wish to give you blessings to help your faith to grow
So you can spread the message of my love to all below

I rose up out of bed and I put on my shoes
I opened up the curtains. The sunlight filled the room
I went right to my easy chair and began to sing a tune
My spirit sought to praise Him, My worship filled the room

I am so glad you love me. I am so glad you do
I lift my hands in worship and send my love to you
All of my adoration. With every one of praise
I worship you sweet Jesus. I thank you for your grace

I love the story of Elijah. He bursts on the scene out of nowhere, walks into the King’s palace and announces it won’t rain for three years and then walks out. I’m not sure how he got in or how he got out. It was not easy to get to see the king in those days and when you announce something as drastic as a three year drought, I don’t see how the king did not hold him for a bit to find out who he was. Nevertheless, it took a lot of courage to do what Elijah did,

But Elijah did not always have courage. He also got discouraged. After defeating all the servants of Ball, he ran from Jezebel man actually wanted to die. God led him to the side of a mountain and as he was standing there he saw strong wind, an earthquake and fire, but God was not in any of them. He was in the still small voice that spoke to him and encouraged him to keep going.

If a mighty prophet like Elijah can get discouraged, so can we. But in those times, if we listen for that still, small voice we will hear it. God is always talking to us.

2 Chronicles 20:15 King James Version (KJV)
15 And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat, Thus saith the LORD unto you, Be not afraid nor dismayed by reason of this great multitude; for the battle is not yours, but God’s.

Remarkable

It’s remarkable
Unimaginable
Unthinkable
That He would love me
The one who makes the sun to rise
He makes the stars to shine
He makes the wind to blow
He makes the oceans roar
He paints the sky at night
The lightning flashes bright
The flowers bloom with glee
Nurtured by honey bees
I cannot think why He
Would do all this for me

Way back when the earth began, God thought of me. First He made the Light. Not the stars, sun and moon mind you. They came a few days later. The Light he first spoke into existence was that light that dispels the darkness of the soul. It shines into every nook and cranny to rid evil from our lives and instill good. The Light guides our path, leading us to His truth and His way. This Light is always shining. The problem is that we have doors in our soul. Some doors we will open, some we will not. These doors keep the light out. He will knock at our door to come in and shine that Light, but we often refuse. He could just knock down that door and force the Light in, but He is meek and lowly, He is gentle and merciful.

After He made the Light, he made all the rest of nature so it was there to sustain me. To comfort me. To provide for me. Why did He do all this? Because He loved me and wanted to show His love. He shows His love to us every day, and all he asks is that we let the Light in. He stands at the door knocking. Will you let the Light in?

1 John 1:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Praise and Worship

Hallelujah to My King

One night while I was sleeping
My pillow soft and warm
I felt the Holy presence of the Lord

I stood with great awareness
That He was there with me
Then I sang Hallelujah to my King

Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah to my King
Hallelujah, Hallelujah,
Hallelujah to my King

In the morning I so often hear Him speak to me. It may be through a praise song or in the quiet of the sunrise, but His voice is very recognizable. It may be in the noon day sun or when the stars are sparkling and bright that He would call my name. He often speaks these words to me in rhyme and asks me to write them down. Often He gives me the whole song at once, like He did with this one. As I walk along the old railroad tracks, which have been made into a bike trial, I lift my hands and sing the songs He gives me. Such joy fills me heart as I thank Him for giving me words to share with you.

What is God saying to you today? I can guarantee that He is speaking to you every day, and quite often during the day. Do you hear Him? Do you try to hear Him. Or are you so caught up in this world that the voices here drown out the voice of God. Don’t you hear that voice telling you what is right and what is wrong? Don’t you hear Him whispering which way to turn? He is always there. We too often are not still enough to hear!

Psalm 46:10 Be still and know that I am God

You Are My Desire

You are my desire
My soul longs after you
Every day in every way
You fill me through and through

You are my desire
My heart is in your hands
There is no greater purpose
Than walking in your plan

You are my desire
Your joy awakens me
I never have to worry
About my destiny

You are my desire
Your grace delivers me
I never have been worthy
Of the mercy shown to me

You are my desire
Your peace calms every storm
I rest in great assurance
That I am in your arms

You are my desire
You make all thing new
Your love is everlasting
I give my life to you

Before I came top know Jesus I had desires that were of this world. Drugs, alcohol, sex, power, riches and all kinds of worldly things were the longings of my heart. The defined me in my own imagination and nothing could change me because I really did not want to change, at least on the surface. But deep down inside, where the soul and spirit of a man lay, I was in turmoil. Je knew the lifestyle I was living was not sustainable. I knew one day it would kill me.

But I died a different death than expected. When I met Jesus, that man that I was started to fade away, to die out. That old man and all of it’s desires became my history instead of my present moments. I found myself with a new desire, something much bigger and greater then heaping things upon myself. Jesus was now the source of my purpose in life. He came in and dispelled of the old man and gave me new desires. Now I longed for love, peace, joy, hope, patience, faith and all those godly virtues. And my deepest desire was to praise Him, the one I used to curse. What a change in my life. What a wondrous love He has for me!

Psalm 37:4 King James Version
Delight yourself in the Lord and He will give you the desires of your heart

Plant The Seeds

I wish I could speak to myself when I was just a child
When innocence was bliss and my thoughts were not too wild
I wish when I was a teen I knew what I know now
Instead of becoming a hippie and letting my hair grow down

I wish when I entered my twenties I would have been a grown up
Instead of listening to friends and think drugs were enough
I wish I could go back there with the lessons I have learned
I think that life would be different today if the alcohol I‘d spurned

My life has been shaped by these things and made me the man I am
It drove me to my knees so I would call to the great “I AM”
He brought me out of that darkness and into His glorious light
Now I know the struggles of man and can understand His plight

You see life is all a lesson that will teach us of ourselves
Then we can help out others who do not know themselves
Their heart is aching inside and they know not what they need
The emptiness inside will surely change with just one seed

The seed of faith we plant in the heart of those we know
Will one day break on through and start the heart to grow
Some will water, some will weed to help that seed produce
Until it becomes mature and a new life is introduced

All of us can plant those seeds and help our neighbors out
Out of the miry clay and into life that’s come about
Make sure that you are walking in Jesus Christ alone
Then you’ll become a light that shines and brings His children home

It is impossible to change our past, or anyone else’s for that matter. We can pine away all we want and it won’t change one second of what has happened days, months and years ago. Every work spoken and deed done has been written on the minds of those affected and there is nothing we can do to erase it or make it go away. However, all of life’s trials and test, the misery and doubt, the failure and heartache has all come to this moment in time to shape us and mold us into the person that we are. If we had a time machine and could change just one minute of our past, we would not have the same wisdom and insight into life that we have today. We are uniquely qualified to help others in the areas where we have been tested. If we have Jesus Christ as Savior, that qualification enables us to minister to others with our words and deeds on a daily basis.

Don’t waste the precious time that you have on this earth. Make the mist of it. Be a light that shines on everyone you come in contact with. Give a smile, say a kind words, do a helpful deed and pray for those in need. You can change the path of someone, just like the seeds planted by my friends changed my path. Be a difference maker!
Matthew 5:16 King James Version
Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works, and glorify your Father which is in heaven.

I Will Lift My Praise In Song

God you are holy
God you are righteous
God you are worthy of my praise

God you are mercy
God you are gracious
I will lift up your holy name

So I will lift my hands and lift my voice
To worship you and rejoice
You are my rock and fortress strong
I lift my praise in song

When we look into the heavens we see His glory. When a thunderstorm comes through and the rainbow appears in the sky we see His glory. When the sun starts to set and He paints the sky, we see His glory. From the morning dew to the cool night air, His presence is all around us. Minute by minute, day after day, He never ceases to provide everything we need for life. The air we breathe, the food we eat, the water we drink all come from Him. The sun that heats, the snow that cools and the wind that dries are all His handiwork. There is nowhere on earth that escapes His presence. There is nowhere His glory is absent. In the deepest depths of the ocean there is beauty man has hardly seen. From the loftiest of mountains spectacular views greet all of mankind. His glory is all around us, His presence surrounds us and His unfailing love will never leave us. We should never cease:6 to praise Him and give Him the glory He deserves. It doesn’t matter what others may say, think, or do. I will praise the Lord!

Psalm 150:6
Let everything that hath breath praise the Lord
