The Road Less Traveled

I’m not one to take a big chance

Or go out on a limb

Or venture into unknown waters

I tend to take the road more traveled

One that I know

That i’m comfortable with

That I’ve traveled before

I was at home in my unbelief once

Easy life down an easy road

No responsibility

No worries

Then I learned that road went

Where I did not want to go

It was a road well traveled

Going the wrong way

I heard about another road

One that took daring to travel

It led the right way

And it was much less traveled

I decided to choose the less traveled road

I accepted Jesus Christ

As Lord and Savior

Now I am on the right road

Won’t you come along with me?

In response to the daily prompt Daring

My King Forever

He is my all

My everything

He is the Lord

The King of Kings

He is my Rock

So now I sing

Praises to His name

He is the Lamb

Who gave His life

He came to be

My sacrifice

He rose to give

Eternal Life

I will praise His name

All glory and honor and power

Be unto His name

He is my King forever

He’ll always be the same

I lift His name

His wonderful name

I lift His name

His glorious name

I lift His name

The mighty name of Jesus, Jesus

He sits in heaven

He watches o‘er me

He sends the angels

To set guard by me

He will return

And take me home

To a mansion He prepared

I can no longer contain the praises of my lips

I have to shout from the mountains the love He has to give

So now I will sing at the top of my voice

In Jesus name I‘ll forever rejoice

I’ll sing His praise as long as I shall live

All glory and honor and power

Be unto His name

He is my King forever

He’ll always be the same

I lift His name

His wonderful name

I lift His name

His glorious name

I lift His name

The mighty name of Jesus, Jesus

Thoroughly Broken

Lost

Lost

Alone
Confused
Restless
Life out of control
That was me

Mind wasted
Body tested
Stomach molested
What a mess
Thoroughly Broken was I

Then
An old friend
A new story he told
About Jesus
Died just for me
On a tree

I asked Him In
Breakthrough to win
He is mine
I no longer was bound
He changed my life
Now I’m thoroughly alive
And I walk with Him all the time

In response to the daily prompt Breakthrough

Trust In The Lord

In a moment
Life can change
In oh so many ways
How do you handle
These unforeseen times
That can really mess up your days

Maybe it’s sickness
Or an accident
That lands you days on your bed
As you try to get well
And the days drift on by
What kind of thought go through your head?

Maybe there’s something
That decides to break down
And will cost way too much to replace
Your savings are low
And you live check to check
What fears are you likely to face?

Maybe it’s a friend

You’ve had for many years

And suddenly they turn their back on you

Their words are harsh and hurtful

And they don’t seem to care

All these situations

And many, many more

Can cause is to imagine life’s not fair

And it becomes so easy

To just give up our hope

Because quite often there’s no one to share

When I get in these trials

And my faith seems on the line

I do the same thing every single time

I open up my Bible

To my very favorite verse

And In follow what it says line for line

Trust in the Lord

With all your heart

And lean not to your own understanding

In all your ways

Acknowledge Him

And He will direct your paths

When you believe this

And live it each day

There’s nothing that will shake your faith

Because He is a God

Who honors His word

And He loves when we walk in His ways

Trust in the Lord

With all your heart

And lean not to your own understanding

In all your ways

Acknowledge Him

And He will direct your paths

Greatest Value Ever!

I like to find bargains

In the grocery store

It’s a challenge to find he best deal

And when I choose one

That seems like the best

I feel good that the bargain is real

Now groceries are one thing

We need them each day

To strengthen our bodies and minds

And the value we get

From the food that we eat

Is essential to everyday life

But the best value ever

Was the price that we pay

To have all our sins be wash away

Because it costs us nothing

The price has been paid

And I’m fee from my sin every day

Jesus gave His blood

There on the cross

And bore all my burden away

Now I can walk

In freedom and hope

Because Jesus blood made a way

In response to the daily prompt Value

You’re the Answer

Hold me, Lord.

Hold me close

In your everlastings arms

Let me feel

Your tender love

As you keep me from all harm

Teach me Lord

Of your ways

Help me walk where your light leads

Keep me always

On the pathway

To the plans you have for me

You’re my ever loving Father

My Lord and King of Kings

You’re the answer to my questions

You’re my everything

So I will lift my voice up high

And with it praises sing

To my Savior and my healer

Jesus Christ my King

Have mercy, Lord

On my poor soul

For I am still a sinner on my own

I’m so glad

For your grace

Which has washed me white as snow

Cleanse my mind

Cleanse my heart

From the things I sometimes think

Give me new

Thoughts so pure

Transform and renew again

You’re my ever loving Father

My Lord and King of Kings

You’re the answer to my questions

You’re my everything

So I will lift my voice up high

And with it praises sing

To my Savior and my healer

Jesus Christ my King

Praise, glory and honor

To you my precious Lord

Hallelujah in the heavens

It is Jesus we adore

Praise, glory and honor

To you my precious Lord

Hallelujah in the heavens

It is Jesus we adore

More than Enough

I once did not know that grace was around

I squandered my life like a big circus clown

Mischief and parties were where I was bound

I didn’t give much thought to God

But then I learned that He loved me so much

And I heard His voice, and I felt His touch

I learned that He’s graceful, more than enough

To forgive me of all of my sin

So I asked Him then to make me His own

And I will eternally bow to His throne

Because of His grace I will not be alone

He will walk with me everyday

In rersponse to the daily prompt Graceful

My Heavenly Father

I once had a Father on earth

Who I barely knew at all

He left us when I was young

And He hardly ever called

We would get a gift at Christmas

And a visit here and there

But through time I grew bitter

And didn’t even care.

The anger inside grew mighty

As I reached my teenage years

I got into things angered my mom

And had her often in tears

I could not find my way through life

I struggled just to survive

The time had to come to turn around

Or I might take my life

Then a friend from a long time ago

Came and told me a story I knew

But He told it in such a different way

I listened and heard the truth

I have a heavenly Father

Who loves me very much

A heavenly Father up above

Who came my heart to touch

He gave His own son

To die in my place

And covered my sin

With amazing grace

His mercy is greater

Than all my shame

He’ll live in my heart

And call me by name

And one day he’ll come

And take me home

To a life everlasting

Around His throne

I love my heavenly Father

He takes care of all my needs

My heavenly Father

He’ll always be there for me

The Master Painter

I sit and watch

As sunset approaches

Scattered clouds above the western horizon

A ribbon of gold touches the bottom clouds

He spreads upward

Around the dark clouds

Bright and shimmering

Outlining and silhouetting

Suddenly a blaze of brilliant gold

Rays peek through

To touch a higher cloud with gold

Sun sinks deeper

Red starts to color he lower clouds

As Gold starts to relinquish its power

Red, orange, pink, yellow

An incessant palate

Changing minute to minute

Reaching across the sky

Until it reaches above me

Behind me

Then slowly the colors fade

From west to east

Into gray

As the last rays

Leave the clouds

Oh. What a thrill

To watch the Master painter

At work

Passing Grades

Every day we face them

Tests to help us grow

Hopefully were ready

With what we need to know

Because passing grades define you

In the eyes of this old world

Each test will bring us closer

In the end we reach our goal.

More important then the testing

Is the subject we have picked

There’s one topic that we must pass

If we want to fully live

Four questions, answered right

Will a passing grade be given

Four questions that will change you

And ready you for heaven

Is Jesus Christ your Savior?

Have you asked Him to forgive?

Have you turned away from your sin?

Are you living to please him?

If you answered yes to all

Your salvation is assured

then you get the passing grade

And eternity in heaven

Will be your resting place
