About Pete

I love the Lord. Each day, he gives me words of praise and encouragement, and asks me to share them with you I pray that they minister to you as you read them, share them, or ponder on them. Have a blessed day!

Yep, He Was Real

We’ve all heard stories from long ago

About people and creatures that just weren’t so

These made up tales

Were told to regale

And through time some believed what they told

But to say that Jesus was mythical

Is truly quite unethical

There’s plenty of proof

To make it a truth

That Jesus was real and methodical

He came to this earth as a sacrifice

And He lived to offer up His life

His blood set us free

From sins dread diisease

And He rose to give life for all time

No Filter Now!

I’ve always enjoyed a cup of coffee

When I rise up in the morn

It used to be I would percolate it

But now Mr Coffee’s the norm

I used to percolate things of God

I’d filter out what I opposed

That left me wondering if God was real

Or if he was just a big hoax

But then I met Jesus one fateful day

And my whole attitude was changed

Now I take in the whole word of God

And I’ll never be the same

Divine Blessings

What if I was to tell you that joy could be yours
Unspeakable joy ever day
No matter what trials and tests come along
This joy never goes away

What if I was to tell you that peace could be yours
A peace the world can’t understand
Instead of the worry you now dwell upon
This peace is at your command

These blessings and more can be yours
Divine blessings from God up above
If you’ll call on His Son
And accept He’s the one
Who redeemed you from sin with His blood.

What if I was to tell you that hope could be yours
A hope everlasting and sure
Instead of wondering what tomorrow may bring
This hope will always endure.

What if I was to tell you that healing was yours
From all of your aches and pains
When your body is hurting and nothing will help
This healing will sooth your complaint

His power to forgive

His mercy that gives

His grace everlasting and true

All these are His gifts

And they are yours if

You accept that He died for you

What if I was to tell you that love could be yours

A love that defies human thought

This love reaches down to the depth of your soul

It’s a love that can never be bought

These blessings and more can be yours
Divine blessings from God up above
If you’ll call on His Son
And accept He’s the one
Who redeemed you from sin with His blood.

I Was A Righteous Dude!

I used to be called righteous

Because I was really cool

I was oft called a righteous dude

As I walked through my school

But then I learned my righteousness

Was filthy rags so gross

So I gave my life to Jesus

And He washed me white as snow

Now I walk each day with Jesus

He calls me His son

And He gives me His righteousness

I’m so glad I  found His love

Sweet Jesus

Isn’t He amazing
Isn’t He wonderful
Isn’t He marvelous
Jesus

Isn’t He glorious
Isn’t He magnificent
Isn’t He delightful
Jesus

More than I imagined
More than I could see
More than I can fathom
Is His love for me

Isn’t He graceful
Isn’t He merciful
Isn’t He peaceful
Jesus

Isn’t He my healer

Isn’t He deliverer

Isn’t He Savior

Jesus

More than I imagined
More than I could see
More than I can fathom
Is His love for me

Like no other name

High above all

Worthy of praise

His name we call

Power and dominion

Unto His name

Jesus, sweet Jesus

Glory and honor

Offered to Him

Holy of Holies

He enters in

Gives His own life

A ransom for all

Jesus, sweet Jesus

Isn’t He King of Kings

Isn’t He Lord of Lords

Isn’t He Emmanuel

Jesus

Isn’t He the crucified one

Isn’t He the Lamb on the throne

Isn’t He our risen Lord

Jesus

More than I imagined
More than I could see
More than I can fathom
Is His love for me

Jesus, sweet Jesus

Jesus, sweet Jesus

He Holds My Heart

I love to just bite in

To a pastry filled with sweet

It makes my face to smile

Oh, a tart is such a treat.

But better yet is Jesus

The sweeest name I know

He fills me with His Spirt

My heart is all aglow

We all have a choice today

Between Jesus and a tart

I choose Jesus every time

Because Jesus holds my heart

My Warrior King

He comes riding on the clouds

Dressed in brilliant white

His robes flow free behind Him

As He breaks upon my sight

With crowns upon His head

Flames of fire in His eyes

The Word of God rides in

As a warrior in the skies

He is the King Almighty

Faithful and True

Coming in the last day

To rescue me and you

His armies ride behind Him

Clothed in robes of white

Their horses match the color

As they gallop with the Light

On His thigh, His name is written

King of Kings and Lord of Lords

A sharp sword in His mouth

To smite the nations with His word

He is the King Almighty

Faithful and True

Coming in the last day

To rescue me and you

An angel cried through heaven

Come and gather for the feast

And the birds all came to answer

Time to rid earth of the beast

The feast was set before them

Kings and armies of the earth

The battle waged and finished

The King of Kings the victory earned

He is the King Almighty

Faithful and True

Coming in the last day

To rescue me and you

His name is high above

Every other name or sound

Jesus is the Lord of all

He wears the royal crown

I’ll sing His praise forever

My mighty warrior King

He fights my battles for me

He rules o’er everything

A New Catch

When I was a kid, the water

Was one place I liked to play

Catching bullfrogs, skippping rocks

Was how we spect our day

And one more thing consumed our time

And sent us ’round the town

The thirll of catching one big fish

That I could call my own.

Iit wasn’t easy work too do

Those fish would fight real hard

To be quite honest, I was not

A fishermann at heart..

So fishing is a memory

That I don’t live today

The thought of stannding, waiting

Just doesn’t make my day.

However there’s anothe kind

Of fishing that I know

This kind is something I  can do

Wherever I might go

Jesus came to save me

And to set me free indeed

But He alos had a plan for me

To help find those in need.

He said I’d be a fisherman

The lost would be the catch

So now I fish ’bout every day

And hope someone to bless

Goal S etting 101

For years I’ve been a salesman

And done quite well indeed

They say that setting lofty goals

Can bring success to me

So I have always set my sights

On goals hard to attain

It makes me work much harder

Until that goal I’ve gained

But lofty goals are on thing

When they reach for worldly gain

I also  need to set my sights

On goals that don’t bring fame

Love my fellow Christian

And even more the lost

Bring joy to all I meet

Leave peace at all costs

Never say an unkind word

Never criticize

Be a friend to all around

Until the day I die

These are goals that I should have

Every single day

So set your sights on lofty things

And be a friend today.

Ode to America

Beautifully said by Susan Irene Fox. America is indeed a wonderful country, and she captures it well in this piece.

Between our Ocean coasts

are the most varied people

on the planet.

We are from every country

(whether or not we

chose to be here).

We are from every religion,

culture, color of skin

education level, economic class

and point of view.

We are like a family who

argues so passionately

spittle shoots out of our mouths.

Yet should anyone else insult us,

we defend each other

with all our might.

We love each other deeply,

but understand our frailties and our failures

even if we are loathe to admit them

to ourselves.

America is a country of

slow progress and

individual overcomers.

We take two steps forward

and one step back and

embrace new ideas with difficulty.

At the same time,

when push comes to shove,

we learn, we grow, and eventually

we move forward.

As we lean into hope,

into integrity, unity, grace and God,

we hold…
