You are my way
My only way to heaven
It is a narrow way
A straight way
Following this way is hard
It requires discipline
And obedience
The world prefers the broad way
Where they can make their own rules
Follow their own path
Do their own thing
They think they are doing good
But they are headed for destruction
You are the way
The way that was blocked in Genesis
By Cherubim and Seraphim
The way to the Tree of Life
Eternal life
There is no other way
Jesus is my way
He is your way
Follow Him
Let Him lead you every day
Let His words guide you
Let His Spirit show you where to step
One step at a time
His footprints and yours
Or sometimes just His
When He carries you
I will trust Him every step
I will follow His rules
I will give Him my life
As a living sacrifice
For He is my way

I Remember the Cross

There are times that I get hurt by those around me
They do something that I don’t really like
I’ll fuss and moan about offenses given
And I’ll hold my anger right ion through the night

I don’t feel any better
In fact I feel much worse
This feeling that’s inside of me
Can soon become a curse
Somehow I must release it
I search for ways to cope
And then I look to Jesus
That’s where I find my hope

I remember the cross
And the price that He paid
To purchase my salvation
To show me heaven’s way
He said I am forgiven
Now I must pass it on
Forgiving those who hurt me
Forgiving everyone

Now each time someone might say something offensive
Or do something that hurts down in my soul
Right there and then I pray and I forgive them
There’s none of that offense that I will hold

Forgiveness I will give
Forgiveness I will live
I’ll put aside offenses
I’ll live a life of love
For Jesus paid the price
And He’s forgiven me
I’ll practice that forgiveness
So others will be free

I remember the cross
And the price that He paid

You are my Light
You shine into the darkness of my soul
Showing me the error of my ways
Shedding your brilliance on my plight
Revealing to me my hidden desires
The desires of my deceitful heart
I have trusted in my heart
It tells me all is well
My heart tells me I am a good man
The blood pumping organ that brings life to my body
Providing nourishment to my cells
Keeping everything going
Everything running
Is true and faithful to my physical body
My heart will always do everything it can
To make the provisions needed for my well being
Physically
But not spiritually
Spiritually my heart does not reveal my sin
It hides it in darkness
Until the light of Jesus shines in
Revealing my sin
This light only comes when I ask
When the Holy Spirit convicts me of sin
Then the Light comes in
The Light that is Jesus
The Light that opens up the dark places
The Light that allows me to see myself as I am
A sinner in need of Salvation
Shine you’re light into my heart Lord
Shine it every day
Reveal every dark place
Every hidden sin
Every wicked way
So that I might truly repent
Not from my intellect and what I know
But by what you reveal to me
I do not want to be intellectually saved
I want to be cleansed completely
Washed with the blood of the Lamb
Free from all sin
All iniquity
Only your Light can do that
So shine your Light into my soul
For you are my Light

Ask His forgiveness from a heart that’s true

Shining
Brightly shining
From the sky above
Down to earth below
Every day
The sun’s rays stream down
From so far away
To touch us all
To heat us all
To give us sight
The light reveals colors
In its prismatic glow
Radiating energy and warmth
Even when the clouds appear
Seemingly blocking it out
The warmth still comes

It cannot be darkened

With brilliance

It shines from the heavens
