Our Salvation

Life Overflowing

When I think of His mercy
His grace
His passion
His wonderful love
That flows from above

When I see His creation
Hear the birds
See the sunset
His tapestry flows
As nature unfolds

When I think that He came down
From His throne
To die alone
He took my sins
Gave me peace within

When I think that He rose again
Seated on high
On heaven’s throne
He prepares a place
I will see His face

My enraptures my heart
Fills my life overflowing
I am overwhelmed by Jesus
He comforts my soul
His blessings surround me
What a glorious Lord we serve

Grace & Mercy

Mercy Wins

When I’m in a battle
I know you are there
To strengthen me for the fight
When sickness is looming
I know I’ll survive
My healing comes through your stripes

Your grace is the greatest
When trouble surrounds me
My faith is uplifted when trials arise
So I will have joy
When my life faces setbacks
I know you are guiding my life

Mercy wins Mercy wins
In ever dark storm Mercy wins
You will not leave me Helpless at all
In every test In every trial
Mercy wins Mercy wins

I will walk on today
Knowing you’re with me
Holding me close in your loving arms
Prayer with Thanksgiving
Instead of worry
Will bring a peace to my longing heart

I will rejoice
I will rejoice
Always in all things
I will rejoice

Mercy wins Mercy wins
In ever dark storm Mercy wins
You will not leave me Helpless at all
In every test In every trial
Mercy wins Mercy wins

Tell the World

Reign in the Heavens
Sweet Lamb of God
Twenty four elders
Praise ‘round your throne
Cherubim shout out
Holy are you
Seraphim fall down
Worship is due

Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the Lamb who was slain
Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the lamb who was slain

Rain down from Heaven
Spirit of God
Fill us with power
To tell of His love
Grant us your wisdom
Your words we seek
Fill us with boldness
To preach in the street

Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the Lamb who was slain
Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the lamb who was slain

He’s the one who gives us power
He’s the one who gives us strength
To tell the world
To tell the world
Of His great love

Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the Lamb who was slain
Blessing and glory
Honor and power
To the lamb who was slain

The Believers Life

Walking By

I walked by him completely on purpose
That old man that sat there alone
My gait even started to speed up
Even though I had nowhere to go

His clothes were dirty and tattered
His smell filled the cool morning air
I could see he had been there a while
But I walked on without a care

Then I heard his voice as it rattled
It stopped me there in my tracks
Son don’t you know that I’m Jesus
I was hoping you’d turn and come back

Do I see the needy
Do I hear their cry
Or am I too busy
When I pass them by
Do I not remember
What Jesus said
What I do for others
I do for Him

I turned to face him and looked again
His eyes locked on me filled with pain
His smile was broad and his teeth were brown
I saw a man who needed a friend

I walked on over and gave him my hand
He latched onto me and arose
We walked off together to get a good meal
As we talked about life in this world

After sharing a meal and chatting a while
I asked what he had in store
He said he had lost all he had in this world
When he came home distressed from the war

Please listen to what I am saying
It is time to open our eyes
There are hundreds of needs all around us
Watch and you’ll be surprised

Do I see the needy
Do I hear their cry
Or am I too busy
When I pass them by
Do I not remember
What Jesus said
What I do for others
I do for Him

I nearly cried as he told me his tale
All the things he had to endure
The torment that filled his mind was intense
And I’m not sure what is the cure

I asked him to come and stay with me
I’d help him to find his way
I never knew I would find a friend
By just walking by on this day

Do I see the needy
Do I hear their cry
Or am I too busy
When I pass them by
Do I not remember
What Jesus said
What I do for others
I do for Him

Help Me, Lord

Help me Lord
Help me see the depth of sin in me
Help me be what you called me to be
Help my heart be opened up to see
Help me Lord

Help me Lord
Help me know your mercies when they come
Help me understand the wrongs I’ve done
Help me see the victory you’ve won
Help me Lord

You have done it all for me
There’s nothing I can do
But fall down humbly on my knees
And cry out help me Lord

Help me Lord
Help me follow you all of my days
Help me walk in all your lovely ways
Help me lift my hands in lofty praise
Help me Lord

From manger to grave
Your life you gave
To show me the way
Into your grace
Now help me obey
Your word everyday
My lips will lift up your praise

You have done it all for me
There’s nothing I can do
But fall down humbly on my knees
And cry out help me Lord

The Believers Life

My Solid Rock

When doubts avail
And storms arrive
When all seems lost
I will survive

When sorrow comes
And brings me pain
I will hold on
To Christ again

Jesus my hope and stay
Jesus my only way
Jesus my solid rock
Jesus Jesus

When life is hard
And all is wrong
I’ll trust in Him
To make me strong

Jesus my hope and stay
Jesus my only way
Jesus my solid rock
Jesus Jesus

My faith cries out the will be done
My heart lifts up the Holy one

Jesus my hope and stay
Jesus my only way
Jesus my solid rock
Jesus Jesus

Amazing Things

What keeps me from giving my all
To answer the call
You’ve given to me

Why do I hold back
Is it for lack of faith
That you’ll do what you say

Help me Lord to see
That I can be
All that you’ve showed to me

Lord I humbly come before you
Take my pride away from me
Lord I truly do adore you
Make me all that you want me to be
If I’d only trust in you
And not myself
If I’d give all that I have
Get off the shelf
You’d do amazing things

I must find a way
To walk in faith
And reach the lost today

Open my eyes
Help me realize
You’ll give the words to say

All of you
None of me
So that others may see
Of your love
From above
Shine through me

Lord I humbly come before you
Take my pride away from me
Lord I truly do adore you
Make me all that you want me to be
If I’d only trust in you
And not myself
If I’d give all that I have
Get off the shelf
You’d do amazing things

Proclaim His Love

How can I begin to say I love Him
The words within my mouth just seem to fail
Mere words cannot express
The love that I possess
For Jesus Christ my Savior and my Lord

I think I’ll start by loving those around me
They need to see the love He wants to share
How can they even know
If I don’t start to show
How much He loves them each and every day

He’ll lead me as I take His love to others
He’ll guide my words as I speak out in love
I do not need to fear
For He is always near
To comfort me as I step out in faith

For telling others is the best expression
Of the love I have for Jesus Christ
No more will silence reign
His love I will proclaim
To all of those I meet along the way

Grace & Mercy

He Has Been Merciful to Me

Through all of my struggles
And all of my pains
Through all of my heartaches
And all of my days
Through life’s hardest battles
I know this one thing
He has been merciful to me

He has been merciful
So merciful
All of my life, all of my days
He showed me His love
When my life goes through the battles
He’s always at my side
He has been merciful
So merciful to me

Through troubles in marriage
That caused me to cry
Through loss of a job
Twenty years left behind
Through every trouble
I know this one thing
He has been merciful to me

He has been merciful
So merciful
All of my life, all of my days
He showed me His life
When my life goes through the battles
He’s always at my side
He has been merciful
So merciful to me

I’ve battled through cancer
I’ve battled through pride
I’ve battled through sin
Long settled inside
Losing a finger
Or a shoulder that hung
He has been merciful to me

He has been merciful
So merciful
All of my life, all of my days
He showed me His life
When my life goes through the battles
He’s always at my side
He has been merciful
So merciful to me

The Right Path

I loved to play a part or two with the Iowa River Players
They put on stage plays several times a year
For many years my wife and I filled roles that made us smile
And sometimes they would also bring a tear

These roles were usually fun to play and kept us very busy
It stole a lot of time away from home
It also took away from spending time alone with God
And that is when my mind began to roam

I went a long way off the path where I should not have gone
I found myself destroying my own life
Then I remembered the dramatic way that Jesus came
And took all of my deathly sins away

He was beaten close to death by a Roman soldiers scourge
His flesh was ripped with wounds on back and chest
A cruel crown of thorns was placed upon His head
He was beaten, spited on and mocked in jest

All His followers denied Him as they called out crucify
He carried His own cross to Calvary
Nails pierced through hands and feet as they hung Him to a tree
Then He breathed His last and died for you and me

He died to free us from our sin and heal us from our pain
He died to reconcile us to God
The He rose again to give us all eternity with Him
He proved to all that He had overcome

Now we all have a choice to accept the price He paid
And become the sons of God he called us to
This is what has brought me back to the path I am now on
And the path that I am praying is for you
