The Word Is True

I believe in a babe in a manger
I believe that shepherds saw angels
I believe that wise men brought gifts
I believe, I believe

I believe that a dove came from Heaven
I believe that the Father spoke
I believe that fishermen followed
I believe, I believe

The Word is true.
The Prophets told of Him long ago
Jesus my Lord would come to die
And in three days He would rise

I believe that He taught the truth
I believe that He led in the way
I believe that He shone the light
I believe, I believe

I believe He was beaten and lashed
I believe that the thorns pierced His brow
I believe He hung on that cross
I believe He was laid on the grave

The Word is true.
The Prophets told of Him long ago
Jesus my Lord would come to die
And in three days He would rise

I believe only three days passed
I believe He arose at last
I believe He is with me today
I believe He’s beside me to stay
I believe He will hear when I pray
I believe He’ll come back any day
I believe, I believe
I believe, I believe

The Word is true.
The Prophets told of Him long ago
Jesus my Lord would come to die
And in three days He would rise
And He did.  Yes, He did
In three days, He did rise

When I Look At the Cross

When I look at the cross, I see mercy
Pouring down from the blood on His brow
All of heaven came down at that moment
To forgive me and make me His child

When I look at the cross, I see grace
Given freely with the nails in His hands
All the riches of heaven became mine
When He suffered and died for my shame

When I look at the cross, I am peaceful
He took all my punishment there
I don’t have to worry about storms that may come
They all crumble and vanish away

When I look at the cross, I see His love
As He gave up His life for me
All the suffering that He endured that day
Just to pardon and sanctify me

When I look at the cross, I am hopeful 
For eternally living with Him 
I will lift up my praise and my worship 
To the Lamb who has washed all my sin

As the sun greets the day
