As His Own
The Lord sits on His Holy hill
Who can stand opposed
He reigns in royal majesty
From His lofty throne
Filled with all the power
The angels lift His praise
Yet He still looks down on us
And showers us with grace
Holy is He, holy is He
Seated on His throne
Creator of the world below
He loves us as His own
There is no reason I can think
Why He should love us so
Yet daily He will walk with us
His presence all will know
I will join the angels
In choruses of praise
For He alone is worthy
Jesus is His name

I stepped out of the path
That God had planned for me
Every day I found myself
In a place I should not be
I tried to turn and fix my course
But could not find the way
Ready to give up I wept
Then I heard Jesus say
Walk with me my son
I’ll show you the way
You cannot do this on your own
I’ll give you the strength
I’ll hold your hand on every step
Pick you up when you fall
Walk with me through every storm
Fulfill your heavenly call
When I heard His voice I wept
Peace came over me
I knew that it would be all right
He would carry me
I found myself back on the path
That God had led me to
My hope is in the Lord alone
His will now I will do

When I woke this morning I heard you
Calling out my name
You said arise and worship
Take time to lift your praise
For I have come to rescue
I’ve come to give you grace
No matter what may come your way

I determined in my heart right then
That I would praise His name
No matter what the trial
Or temptation I might face
For He alone has power
To free me from disgrace

A sinful man

Confused
Shattered by life
Crying for help
Looking anywhere I can
Drugs are not the answer
Neither is alcohol
Sex is not even close
Money comforts
But does not bring peace
Power is exhilarating
But is fleeting and empty
Fame only lasts for a moment
Like a vapor in the wind
All of life’s pleasures
Bring no joy that lasts
But only sorrow
Heartache
Solitude
And I despair in my condition
I am not sure of the way out
I do not know where to go next
Everyone looks at me and sees success
They see happy
They see what I want them to see
But it’s only an image
A projection
Of the external man
Not the internal man
Oh, wretched man that I am
Who will save me
Who will rescue me
Then
In an instant
In an unanticipated moment
Jesus whispers into my ear
With words of peace
Words of joy
Words of a refuge
Safe in His arms
And I weep
My heart breaks
My spirit collapses
My mind is fixed
On His words
I cannot deny them
I cannot refuse them
So I ask Him to forgive me
For my sin
My arrogance
My wandering heart
My sinful ways
Surprisingly to me
He does
A wave of freedom flows over me
I can feel the filthiness leave
I can feel His Spirit enter in
There is no doubt
No way to undo
What he has just done
He has washed my win away
Like a tide washes the shore
Like the light dispels darkness
I am a new man
A new creation
Walking the narrow path
Walking with Him
Blessed by his Spirit
No longer alone
No longer in despair
But filled with joy
Peace
Hope and His love
Oh what a Savior
Jesus my Lord
Lamb of God
Wonder of wonders
He has done what I could not do
He has done what no one else could do
He has done what this world cannot d0
He changed my course
From hell to heaven
In the blink of an eye
I am saved
Forgiven
Washed by the blood
Redeemed from my sin
Forever forgiven
Alive again!
The Lord
The Lord is my strong tower
A refuge from the storm
When danger lurks about me
He keeps me from all harm
The Lord is my deliverer
When I call on His name
The enemy will flee from me
If I will seek His face
The Lord is my redeemer
My sin He has erased
Forever I will trust in Him
I’ll give Him all my praise
The Lord will fight my battles
When I obey His word
As long as I am seeking Him
His promises endure
The Lord is strong and mighty
The Lord is always near
The Lord will calm my doubts
The Lord will squash my fear
The Lord does reign forever
The Lord is above all
The Lord is King of Heaven
The Lord still hears my call
I will shout and sing
The praises of my king
For He will be my guide
He’s always at my side
What a precious Savior
The one that I adore
He showers me grace
Oh how I love the Lord
Follow Jesus
I have decided
To put my sin behind
To clean this filthy mind
Let light remove the blinds
And follow Jesus
I have determined
My path has gone astray
That I have lost my way
Please turn me back today
And follow Jesus
He is the way the truth the light
His is the only way that’s right
He’ll turn my darkness into light
