The Greatest Journey

We all know great explorers who set out on a task
To search uncharted waters and place them on a map
They travelled far to lands unknown with zeal and courage grand
Many who set out would die in far off foreign lands

Columbus comes to mind as he crossed the ocean vast
Most thought the world was flat and he would never last
Magellan set his sails to go across Pacific heights
He lost his life in Philippines to many tribal knives

Vespucci learned that big Brazil was not east Asia land
It was indeed a new found place a separate continent
Marco Polo travelled out to South America.
The courage shown by all these men goes way beyond compare

But the greatest journey of all time did not start on this earth
It started up in heaven from the throne room of the Lord
When God said Son it’s time to go and rescue all mankind
You’ll come in as a little babe, and in the end you’ll die

The angels worshipped at His feet. The elders sang His praise
He had been exalted since the creation of all days
Now He’d go to earth to become a common man
The journey would be long and hard a cross would be His end

What an expedition. What a selfless act
To take a journey from the throne to stripes upon His back
He knew where he was going and what would come to pass
He knew that He would save mankind by hanging on that cross

He took the stripes upon His back to heal all our dis-ease
He took the thrones upon His brow so we could have His peace
He took the nails in feet and hands so we would not be bound
He took the spear into his side so victory would be found

And when He said forgive them the words rang loud and clear
The sins were washed away from everyone who hears
He calls those words today from His royal throne above
He wants to be your Savior so you could know His love

Yes the greatest journey ever was to ransom you and I
The Son of God came to this earth to live and then to die
His death bought your salvation from the ravages of sin
When He rose He made a place for you to live with Him

The greatest journey you can take is to His cross today
To bow before His majesty and give your life away
You need not know your future or the plans He has for you
One step then another is all you have to do

The River of Grace

I stood by the banks of the river
The river of God’s great grace
It flowed from His throne in heaven
Right down to the human race

All were invited to enter
This stream of His endless love
His grace was poured out to us all
When He gave His only Son

What an act of mercy
What an act of love
What a mighty God we serve
Who loves us all so much
He created us to praise Him
And to walk with Him each day
I love to stand amid the flow
In the river of His grace

So many souls are searching
For something more in life
They’ve tried all kinds of different ways
But are not satisfied

If only they would realize
This awesome truth I share
There is a God in heaven
That longs to bring them care

A simple prayer is all it takes
To enter His embrace
Just ask Him for forgiveness
And step into His grace

Jesus, mighty Savior
My sins I now confess
Forgive me, please, I ask today
Come take away this mess
I promise I will turn away
From sin that rules my life
I’ll make you Lord of all my heart
Until the day I die

What an act of mercy
What an act of love
What a mighty God we serve
Who loves us all so much
He created us to praise Him
And to walk with Him each day
I welcome you to stand with me
In the river of His grace

He Gave

He gave us His peace
His wonderful peace
Our hearts can be free and untroubled
It’s deep within us
Changing our lives
Keeping us free from all doubt

He gave us His joy
Unspeakable joy
We rejoice in the good and bad times
It’s bubbling inside
Just wanting to thrive
Spreading joy to so many lives

Oh, what a Savior
Oh, what a friend
Who would give these remarkable gifts
I’ll lift His name
His wonderful name
He is worthy of all I can give

He showed us His love
When He died in that tree
To redeem us from all of our sin
Now let’s spread that love
To all those who need love
Bring them peace and joy settled within

Each day of our lives
God’s love forgives us
A gift of His mercy and grace
What greater gift
Than the gift of forgiveness
Can we give to our neighbors and friends

Oh, what a Savior
Oh, what a friend
Who would sacrifice His life for me
I’ll give Him my life
And all the other do
Then He’ll make me all I can be

I Can’t Begin

I can’t begin to say how much I love Him
The one who came from high in heaven above
He gave His life for me
When He died upon that tree
I’m a demonstration of His awesome love

I cant begin to say how much He helps me
As I go about my business day to day
He guides me as I go
Gently leading me to know
The plan He has for me when I obey

Merciful Savior
So good to me
I lift my praise to you
Honor and power
Glory forever
Unto your name is due

I can’t begin to know how much He loves me
His grace has covered all my sin and shame
He is the King of Kings
Yet He gives me everything
I lift my hands to worship His sweet name

Merciful Savior
So good to me
I lift my praise to you
Honor and power
Glory forever
Unto your name is due

My words of praise are lifted to you
High upon the throne
My voice declares your majesty
I worship you alone

Merciful Savior
So good to me
I lift my praise to you
Honor and power
Glory forever
Unto your name is due

He’s Mine

If not for the Lord I’d still be in sin
No pardon for me the devil would win
I’d flounder through life and wish for retrieve
Then in the end hell my soul would receive

If not for the Lord no joy would be mine
My laughter would be empty echoes through time
Sorrow below in my merriest rhymes
I’d wind up with smiles my face would tell lies

But He’s mine, all mine
He redeemed me that day long ago
He’s mine, eternally mine
He is with me wherever I go

If not for the Lord all hope would be lost
I’d pay the price now an eternal cost
No future would hold anything prosperous
I’d flounder through life in a whirlwind of loss

If not for the Lord my peace would subside
I’d think I was calm but I’d tremble inside
When it seemed things were right only fear would reside
Only terror would fill up the thoughts of my mind

But He’s mine, all mine
He redeemed me that day long ago
He’s mine, eternally mine
He is with me wherever I go

I don’t have to worry
I don’t have to fret
I don’t need to have any doubt
When I asked Him to save me
He did it that day
And my life was turned about

Yes He’s mine, all mine
He redeemed me that day long ago
He’s mine, eternally mine
He is with me wherever I go
