Morning Prayer

Prepare me for the battles that come my way today
Keep my mind stayed on you and well above the fray
Let my spirit be uplifted as in your sweet grace I stay
Jesus thank you for this day

Touch those people on my prayer list with your love today
Bring healing to their bodies and strength to those who wait
Help them see the answer to the needs for which they pray
Jesus thank you for this day

Our government needs you Lord for wisdom on this day
Help them follow in the right and Godly way
A new spirit of unity us needed Lord I pray
Jesus thank you for this day

My family needs you desperately in oh so many ways
Give strength to my sweet wife as she goes throughout this day
A touch to all three daughters that you’ll answer when they pray
Jesus thank you for this day

My pastor needs your wisdom to bring the word today
I ask you send your spirit and give him words to say
Bless our church and people and hear them as they pray
Jesus thank you for this day

Now Lord I lift my heart to you and offer up my praise
I worship you with all my soul and thank you for your grace
Your mercy is around me and you hear the words I pray
Jesus thank you for this day

I now arise to greet this awesome day
My feet hit the floor and I am on my way
I know you have heard every word I pray
Jesus thank you for this day¬¬

Holy Spirit Fire

I put my jammies on
And jumped into my bed
My warm and comfy covers
We’re pulled o’er my head
The cold north wind was howling
As temperatures dipped low
The whisky clouds that blew on by
Seemed ready to drop snow

Winter I’m not ready for
The cold and ice can go
I’ll be housebound for months
Low immunity in tow
But I have a secret weapon
That can warm me right away
I cry out to my Savior
And start to lift my praise

I lift my praise
I lift it high
My song I sing to you
My Lord and Savior Jesus
I lift my voice to you
Send your Holy Spirit fire
To warm me in my soul
My worship will exalt your name
My God my King my Lord

I throw the covers off
I jump up from my bed
I dance across the room
My hands above my head
Rejoicing in the spirit
Filled with Holy fire
I open up my mouth to praise
I lift to Him my eyes

Lord of Lords
King of Kings
Hear my worship offering
Savior Healer
Blessed Redeemed
To you my praise now I sing

I lift my praise

My Lord and Savior Jesus

Don’t worry so much
Don’t break a sweat over tomorrow
Just concentrate on the gift of today

Darkness hides the shadows as I wake up with a yawn
I open up my eyes before the coming of the dawn
My feet hit the floor as the sleepiness wears on
It must be time to praise the Lord

Before I rise up from my bed I lift my feeble voice
Before any other thing I will take time to rejoice
Before the day has started His praise will be my choice
This is the time to praise the Lord

Hallelujah Lord I love you
I thank you for your grace
Hallelujah thank you Jesus
Thank you for my wife’s embrace
I will praise you
I will bless your name
From the rising to the setting sun
Not a moment will go by
That my heart will not cry out

When I start my day with worship the whole day will turn out right
I never have to wonder if I’m walking in His light
He draws so near to me in the quiet of the night
As I take time to praise the Lord

No matter what the day will bring
Come rain or snow or wind
No matter what my body feels
If I’m well or if I’m ill
My voice will lift up praises
My heart will fill with song
My spirit will rise up to Him
My worship will be sung

My soul and spirit cry out
For your sweet touch today

Grass dusted with dew
Dawn coming in view
Stars glittering bright
Moon absent from light

Birds greeting the day
Leaves falling like rain
Breeze gentle and cool
Freeze coming real soon

Marvel at His creation
Wonder that’s ever-changing
One day differs from others
All as a gift from the author

Precious each passing moment
Our job to be a witness
All who love this creation
Need to know their situation

Heaven or hell does await them
Their choice determines the outcome
Choose Christ and His wondrous mercy
Or fall to the depths of pure misery

He’ll make you a new creation
When you give Him your life without caution
Repent of your sin
Ask Jesus in
He’ll build you a mansion in heaven

Marvel at His creation
He’s made you an heir to His glory
Love, peace, joy and hope
Will fill up your home
As you tell His marvelous story

The Gift of Love

He’s given me life everlasting
And a joy this world cannot afford
But it’s only for me
When I bow on my knee
And make Him my Savior and Lord

Some think they are saved by their actions
That His grace covers them through their lives
His Word shows one way
That you can be saved
The blood that He shed must apply

It’s a gift of love that must be received
A gift of love that you must believe
A gift of love that covers your sins
You must ask the Savior to come live within

If you are not sure that heaven’s your home
If you have depended on your deeds alone
Repent of your sin
Give your life to Him
This gift of love then you will know

It’s a free gift and you must accept it
It’s there in the Saviors hands
Just humble yourself
And ask for His help
Receive Jesus Christ as your Lord

It’s a gift of love that must be received
A gift of love that you must believe
A gift of love that covers your sins
You must ask the Savior to come live within

Focus

In the morning I put in my contacts
When I look up they need to align
I take a quick wink
Then hurry a blink
And finally my focus arrives

My phone has a nice built in camera
That I use rather sparingly
My hand has a shake
Like a mild earthquake
The focus just won’t quite agree

There are times my mind wanders from reason
I just can’t seem to focus on God
I’ve succumbed to sin
Or I’ve struggled within
I have walked off the path of the Lord

When a finally realize what’s happened
I need to repent of my ways
Just bow my head down
Kneel in prayer on the ground
Asking God to forgive my disgrace

He is faithful and just to forgive me
He’ll restore me to His righteous side
His joy and His peace
Will put me at ease
As my focus in Him does abide
