I’ll Wait

I’ll wait in my sorrow. I’ll wait in my pain
I’ll wait in the sunrise. I’ll wait when it rains
I’ll wait in the storms. I’ll wait when I cry
I’ll wait in the evening. I’ll wait when I’m tired
I’ll wait when I’m lonely. I’ll wait when I’m blessed
I’ll wait when I’m weak. I’ll wait to find rest

I know if I wait like an eagle I’ll fly
He’ll make me to walk. He’ll make me to rise
I know if I wait patience He will give me
Then all of my troubles will soon disappear

So I will wait. I’ll wait for my King
Because I know my Lord controls everything
I know that His timing is never late
Whenever I pray I’ve learned to wait

I hate going to the doctor. It’s not that I am afraid of seeing him, or worried anything is wrong other than the obvious on that day, I just don’t like going. It’s not the blood work or the exam that bother me. It’s the waiting. You wait in the first waiting room, then you wait in the exam room. Sitting around waiting makes you have patience, Maybe that’s why we are called Patients!

But waiting for God is different. The Bible assures us that we will be rewarded if we learn to wait in the Lord. Some people are impatient and think they need their answer right now. They receive their reward and are done. But those who are patient get a bigger reward. David tells us that when we wait patiently, God inclines to us. Think about that for a minute. He leans over and listens intently to us. His ear is right there ready to hear. Plus, James tells us that our trials teach us patience and take us to perfection, or maturity in Christ. You can have your answers right away. I’ll choose to wait on the Master’s timing. He knows my needs before I’ve even asked. If we have to wait, there’s a reason and a plan. We grow in the wait!

Psalm 40:1-2 King James Version
40 I waited patiently for the LORD; and he inclined unto me, and heard my cry.
2 He brought me up also out of an horrible pit, out of the miry clay, and set my feet upon a rock, and established my goings.

I Am So Glad For His Grace

I’m far from perfect need I dare say
So many times I have drifted away
My life’s in limbo day after day
I am so glad for His grace

I look at the cross which is where I should be
Then I remember that He died for me
From sin and shame He set me free
I am so glad for His grace

Grace that amazes. Grace that endures
Grace that my pardon from sin assures
Grace more then needed to cover my faults
Wonderful grace. Marvelous grace
I am so glad for His grace

I try to walk the best that I can
I try to hold on to His faithful hand
All that I desire is to stay in His plan
I am so glad for His grace

Often I stumble. Often I fall
Often I wonder why he loves me at all
Often I’m caught in the snare of defeat
But then His grace comes, sets me up on my feet

Grace that amazes. Grace that endures
Grace that my pardon from sin assures
Grace more than needed to cover my faults
Wonderful grace. Marvelous grace
I am so glad for His grace

I don’t deserve an ounce of His grace. Not one minute of His time should be spent on me because I so often just ignore what He asks me to do. I am disobedient, selfish, impatient, insufficient and ungrateful way too often. I know my life often does not please Him because there is sin at the door. I must be a disappointment to Him.

Yet, through all this, He sends His grace. He hears my prayer. He forgives me. He loves me. He dries tears. He calms my fears. He holds me close. He waits for me to turn back to Him. He is my refuge and strength. I do not have to worry when I get lost, He will find me. That’s what His grace is all about, and I am so thankful for grace.

2 Corinthians 12:9  King James Version
9 And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me.

The Believers Life

You Are My Destiny

Rivers in the desert
Manna down from heaven
All that I desire
Comes alive in you

Mercy everlasting
Grace that knows no measure
Love uncompromising
Comes alive in you

Lord keep me safe in your arms
Lord give me rest from all harm
Only in you can I find peace
You are my destiny

All of our lives we search after meaning. Why am I here? What am I supposed to accomplish? What purpose is there for me? These questions, whether we want to admit it or not, flow through our minds day in and day out. They can drive us to do things that are not meant to be done. They can make us say things that should not be spoken. If someone gets in our way, we demand they move. If someone should offend us, we want to get even. All this because we have not yet found the real path that are lives are bound for. We have wandered and sometimes made our own path, thinking surely this will be the right way to go.

There is only one path. There is only on way. Our destiny is fulfilled once we accept Jesus Christ as our Savior. When we find His grace and mercy true rest comes. Rest for our wandering hearts. Rest for our weary souls. Our eternal destination, our destiny, is in Him. Once we have arrived there, the journey has just begun. From this point on life becomes a mission.

Philippians 3:13-14 King James Version
13 Brethren, I count not myself to have apprehended: but this one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind, and reaching forth unto those things which are before,
14 I press toward the mark for the prize of the high calling of God in Christ Jesus.

Praise and Worship

I Sing My Love to Thee

Wonderful Creator
Mighty God is He
He put the stars all up in place
Displays His majesty

Glorious Creator
Nature bows to thee
The trees all wave and birds sing praise
They testify to me

CHORUS
I lift my hands and give my words
To songs of praise for He is worthy
Every day from dawn to dusk
I sing my love to thee
I sing my love to thee

Merciful redeemer
Lord of Lords to me
He came to earth to give His life
So I could be set free

CHORUS

BRIDGE
All of heaven all of earth
All of nature sings your worthy
From highest height to oceans deep
Creation shows your majesty
Witnessing your love for me

CHORUS

I love to walk early in the morning. The air is so crisp and clean. Even on a cloudy morning it smells like a new earth. But on a clear night, when the humidity is low and not a wisp of cloud is anywhere to be seen, my eyes light up. If there is a moon shining that night I wonder at it’s glorious shape. Be it half or crescent, like the Cheshire Cat smiling down at me, it is a glorious sight, riding across the sky like it does. When it is full, it lights my path almost like a dim sun. And when the new moon rises, those clear skies display majesty beyond belief. I walk out to the northern part of our bike trail, where the city lights go dim, to see the wonder of the heavens gloriously displayed. Every star placed there by your loving hand to guide us on our way. It is the most evident display of your great love for us.

Psalm 19:1-2 King James Version
The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament sheweth his handywork.
2 Day unto day uttereth speech, and night unto night sheweth knowledge.

He Is With Me

He was with Abraham on his journey
He was with Jacob in the night
He was with Joseph in the prison
With Joshua in the fight

He was with Samuel when he whispered
He was with David against a giant
He was with Daniel giving visions
And in the den against the lion

He is with me. He is with me. Every hour of every day
He is with me. He is with me as my guide to show the way
He is with me giving strength. He is with me in His power
I know that I have Jesus. He is with me

He is with me showing mercy
He is with me showing grace
He is with me in my battles
He is with me when I pray

I can walk with great assurance
In the middle of the storm
Because I know the one who calms the sea
I can pray with expectation
That each prayer will be heard
His word says when I pray He’ll answer me

Don’t spend one more day without Him
Don’t spend one more hour without Him
Give it all. Give it all to Jesus

I can trust Him in every storm, in every test, in every trial and in every way. There is nothing that can separate me from His love. Not fire, not flood, not height or depth. No mountain or valley or strange event. When I come to Him, he will meet me where I am. If I am in sin, he will forgive me if I ask. If I am struggling he will pick me up and help me along. If I am crying he will dry my ears and comfort me. If I am troubled, he will say peace be still. There is nothing in life greater than knowing Jesus is right there loving me every minute of every day. What a joy it is to serve Him with all my heart and soul and mind and strength.

Psalm 16:8 King James Version (KJV)
8 I have set the LORD always before me: because he is at my right hand, I shall not be moved.

I Met Jesus

Sometimes I remember when I was all alone.
Sometimes I remember when I had no joy
Sometimes I remember when I had no peace within
But long ago those days came to an end.

I met Jesus. I met Jesus.
The day that I met him my life changed
When I met Jesus He washed away my sin
It seemed like I was born again

Many times the trials of life seem more than I can bear
Many times my mind will drift to things I cannot share
Many times I wonder if his grace will cover me
Then I remember that he came to set me free

I met Jesus. I met Jesus.
The day that I met him my life changed
When I met Jesus He washed away my sin
It seemed like I was born again

I never expected to meet Him. I never thought it was even possible. I was a drifter, a drug addict, a drunkard and a perverted soul. I had every intention of staying that way because I thought I was happy and having a good life. I had a job, I had friends, I had family close. I ran in social circles that supported me and buddies that loved being around me. I had a great job that I really liked, people that respected me in my position, and made pretty good money. I was never one much for material possessions and did not own a lot because I had no need for things. What more could a person want?

Then I encountered Jesus, or should I say he encountered me. It was as unexpected as a bolt of lightning striking me on the head. I had grown up in church but had abandoned it years ago. People had talked to me about Jesus but I thought it just a game to play, another way of life I wasn’t the least bit interested in. But that day, I learned that he loved me. He shed His blood for me. He died for my sins, which were plentiful. He rose again to give me eternal life. Suddenly I knew I had to know Him better and that he wanted, desired and longed for a relationship with me. I will never leave Him now that I met Him. Have you met Him? He is calling to you. Open your ears and listen for His voice.

Jeremiah 29:11-13 New International Version (NIV)
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. 12 Then you will call on me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you. 13 You will seek me and find me when you seek me with all your heart.

I Live For You

I gave up my old ways. I started anew
For the rest of my days I’m living for you.
No turning back because I’m breaking through
For all that I want is to live for you

In the heat of the day with a cool morning dew
I’ll make the decision to live for you
When storms come around me with waves crashing through
I don’t have to worry I’m living for you

And when people ask why I have such Joy
I’ll say I found Jesus and He fills my soul
Because every day and every hour
You give me strength and you give me power

Precious Lord Jesus thanks for the cross
For so many years I counted it loss
But now I’ll give my life and all that I have
I’ll live for you until this life is passed

So when this old life is finally through
I’ll meet you in heaven because I live for you

Where would I be if I had not traveled to visit a friend of mine half way across the country in 1976? Where would I be if I had not gone to church with him that night and heard that message? The message that convinced me I was headed for hell and I made me know I did not want to go there. Where would I be if the pastor had not come to my friends’ house the day before I left and asked if I wanted to get saved and live for Jesus? Where would I be if I had not prayed that prayer and, with sweat coming from deep within and drenching my clothes, knew that something had changed inside me?

I believe with all my heart that the night I prayed that prayer would have been my last if I had not sincerely prayed that prayer. I travelled 70,80,90 mph all the way home from Iowa with a wobble in my front left tire. When I took it to my mechanic he could not believe I had just come all the way home from Iowa. I had a broken tie rod! I have no doubt that if I had not prayed that prayer, I would not have had God’s protection on the way home that day and the tire would have fallen off, as it should have. I would have had a terrible accident and be serving a life sentence in a hell none of us want to go to.

Have you prayed that prayer today? Have you been Born again, which Jesus says is a requirement to even see the Kingdom of Heaven? Are you living for Jesus? If you have not, please do it today. It may be your last.

Romans 10:13
“For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved”

I Can Trust In Your Love

In the Still of the Night
You are there by my side
And I know I can trust in your love

At the dawn of the day
You provide me a way
Then I know I can trust in your love

As the Sun rises high
You will strengthen my life
So I know I can trust in your love

When the sun paints the sky
And the day has gone by
I have known I can trust in your love

There’s never am hour
When I don’t need your power
For I know who I can trust in your love

Keep me close by your side
For in you I’ll abide
There I know I can trust your love

I know there are times that I don’t love Him like I should. After all, He gave up a throne in heaven to come to earth as a babe because He loved me. He walked all over the nation of Israel, healing and preaching about the ways of our Father in heaven because He loved me. He took the ridicule and harassment of the religious leaders because He loved me. He was beaten and laughed at, mocked and ridiculed. He carried His own cross on which He was crucified because He loved me. He took the nails in His hands and feet and He cried out Father forgive them because He loved me. He rose again and sent the Holy Spirit Comforter to help me because He loved me?

And what do I do? How much time do I spend with Him each day. Every day he reminds me of His love for me by appearing in the little things, in nature all around me, in the people I meet and talk to. Every moment He is giving me breath and sight, hearing and taste and so many other things I do not deserve. And he will always do that because He loves me.

Romans 8:32-39 King James Version (KJV)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

Weary Soul

Weary soul
Can you not find peace
Look to the one
Who calms the seas

Weary soul
Can you not find joy
Look to the one
Who never annoys

Weary soul
Can you not find rest
Look to the one
Who says your blessed

Weary soul
Can you not find hope
Look to the one
Who helps you cope

Weary soul
Can you not find love
Look to the one
Who lives above

It’s easy to find myself looking inside my soul and trying to figure out why I am lacking in so many ways. Inside is where my trouble is, after all. My misgivings, misunderstandings, bad thoughts and evil desires all dwell within. They to do not come from outside of me. The lack of joy, peace, hope and rest in my day to day life is caused by outside factors, but it is within me that I have the power to overcome these shortcomings, isn’t it?

I have found the answer to that question is no, it is not a look inside myself that will fix any of those things that stem out of pride. The only way to have those attributes inside myself is to look above, to look to Jesus. He is all of those things and so much more. Lay your burdens at His feet and he will lift you up out of your weariness and into His arms.

Jeremiah 31:25 King James Version (KJV)
25 For I have satiated the weary soul, and I have replenished every sorrowful soul.

The Believers Life

Safe in Your Arms

When I walk through the valley I am not alone
Because you are with me wherever I go

When the storms come upon me I am not afraid
Because you’ll give peace in the midst of the rain

CHORUS
Conqueror, deliverer Savior and friend. Jesus right with me again and again
Mighty Jehovah, Majesty on high, Holy of Holies. I give you my life

When trials surround me I feel like I’ll lose
I don’t have to wait long for you to rescue

CHORUS

Safe in your arms. I am safe in your arms. I am safe in your arms always (REPEAT)

CHORUS

It had been quite a day for the disciples. Lepers were healed, as was Peter’s mother, and a number of great stories were told. Jesus was a great story teller. He took the simple principles of life and turned them into lessons about God that people could relate to and remember. It was truly remarkable how He could each into everyone’s life right where they were. The people flocked to Him partly because of the miracles and partly because of His amazing way with words.

The crowds had gone back home and Jesus and his disciples got into a boat to go to the other side of the Sea of Galilee. In the middle of their crossing a sudden storm came up. The disciples worried they would drown, but they found Jesus asleep. The cried out to Him “Master, aren’t you worried we might perish?”. Jesus got up and said “Oh ye of little faith” and He quietly calmed the wind and the waves. All was at peace.

Sometimes we think Jesus I not there with us. We feel alone, abandoned and afraid. We are not sure how we will make it through this test, this storm. But He is always there just waiting for us to call to Him. He will calm the storm, take away the pain, dry the tears and soothe the mind. Nothing is too hard for Him!

Isaiah 61 King James Version (KJV)
61 The Spirit of the Lord GOD is upon me; because the LORD hath anointed me to preach good tidings unto the meek; he hath sent me to bind up the brokenhearted, to proclaim liberty to the captives, and the opening of the prison to them that are bound;
2 To proclaim the acceptable year of the LORD, and the day of vengeance of our God; to comfort all that mourn;
3 To appoint unto them that mourn in Zion, to give unto them beauty for ashes, the oil of joy for mourning, the garment of praise for the spirit of heaviness;
