Paisley Rainbows

I’ve seen pink elephants in a drunken dream
Acid rainbows in a paisley scheme
Horror movies that made me scream
These things all have stuck in my mind

These eyes have seen much in their sixty plus years
But the notable act that will bring the most tears
Is when someone accepts the love Jesus brings near
As He washes over them His grace so divine

There is something about a soul being saved
That brings out much joy in in an ocean-like wave
If you don’t know Him why not call out today
He’ll give a new heart and a new lease on life

Try to Scare

I used to be a paper boy

So many years ago

A long and uphill road I walked

With daily news in tow

It never failed along the route

A cur would try to scare

But I delivered faithfully

Ignoring dog beware

When circumstances come in life

That rob us of our peace

God is right there to come beside

And set our minds at ease

Never turn away from troubles

That would test your faith

But joyfully walk on with hope

That answers won’t be late

Colaborating With God

They say that I have a way with words

It seems that they might be right

When i sit down to write a story

My fingers just start to take flight

It’s really hard to explain it

So I will not elaborate

I’ll simply say God guides my finger

With Him I colaborate

From start to finish i marvel

At what’s flowing out of me

I’ll give the Lord all the glory

Without Him this blog would not be

The Day of Salvation

I dreamed I was rising to heaven
Jesus waited for me in the clouds
He had come back just as He promised
The trumpet had sounded aloud

I could see others rising beside me
All colors and ages were there
This day we had all been awaiting
When we would meet our dear Lord in the air

Then I looked for my friends and my neighbors
There were many making the flight
But several were not rising with me
I feared they had not seen the light

They had not asked the Lord to forgive them
Of the sins that He died for that day
They had not asked Him to be their Savior
They had not followed in His way

I know I had told them the good news
That Jesus had died for their sins
But they never decided for certain
Thinking there would be time in the end

For a moment a sadness was present
At knowing they were left behind
But His joy quickly came in and calmed me
As His presence filled up my mind

I hope if you’re reading this poem
That Jesus is Savior and Lord
If not take a moment this instant
To give Him your heart and your soul

For we don’t know the hour or the moment
When He comes there will be no more time
Today is the day of salvation
It is time to make up your mind

Cancer Testimony Video

Several of you have asked for me to post this video, so here it is.  This is from our service at church Sunday night, April 22.  This service went well and we had an opportunity tom pray for several who were sick at the end of the service.  It was a blessed time in the Lord.

I am going to post this on both of my blogs, so if you are following both, you will see this on my God’s Maintenance Man blog as well.

I pray it blesses you!

The Bonus on Top

This world can give much that we all hunger for
Great riches and fame and power untold
A bunch of good friends and a family too
All of these things we can see and can hold

But Jesus bestows on us much greater gifts
His love and mercy bring peace to our life
Joy, faith and hope come so freely from Him
All because He paid your sin sacrifice

If you are missing these great gifts today
Why don’t you come to the Savior’s side
He gave these gifts to all who obey
With the bonus on top of eternal life

Jesus Is Enough

With all this world does offer
To me most everyday
From wealth and fame and fortune
To pleasures when I stray

With all it’s glitch and glamour
That try to pull and tug
The one thing I have found
Is that Jesus is enough

Jesus is enough
His mercy fills me up
His grace pours down each day
His Spirit guides the way
His love is everlasting
His joy exhilarating
His peace does fill my cup
Yes Jesus is enough

I’ve seen the charms of this world
I’ve tasted many times
I though I had a good life
But I was dead inside

I heard about a Savior
Who cares not if I’m rough
Since I gave Him my life
I know that Jesus is enough

Jesus is enough
His mercy fills me up
His grace pours down each day
His Spirit guides the way
His love is everlasting
His joy exhilarating
His peace does fill my cup
Yes Jesus is enough

I do not need riches
I do not need fame
I do not need pleasures
I am not the same

Jesus is enough
His mercy fills me up
His grace pours down each day
His Spirit guides the way
His love is everlasting
His joy exhilarating
His peace does fill my cup
Yes Jesus is enough

Competing Sources

So many things in this world
Are not clear at all
With news reporting differently
On stories near and far

To sort out truth is difficult
To know who’s right is hard
Both sides pick their favorite source
And arguments are made

As far a heaven i concerned
The Bible is not vague
Jesus said be born again
He told us He the way

If you have a question
That concerns eternity
Please put it in the comments
I’ll answer as God leads

Basking In Liberty

I want to have more of Jesus
More of His love and His grace
More of the joy He gives me
I want to see His face

I want to partake of His blessings
Abundant they are to me
I want to live in His fullness
And bask in His liberty

There’s only one way to do this
I must daily abide in His word
His life-giving message is written
So I can know just what’s in store

His promises are everlasting
His mercy and grace will endure
As long as I stay close beside Him
And make Him my Savior and Lord

500 Followers – Thank you

From the bottom of my heart and the depths of my spirit, I thank you.  Thank you for reading, for commenting, for your encouragement, for your commitment.  You are all a blessing to me.

The words posted on this blog are not my own, they are God’s.  He pours them through this vessel onto this page.  They are given for you, His church. They are given to encourage, to uplift, to praise and worship.  I have long not understood why He uses me for these words, except for the fact that I have learned to listen.

Most of these poems and songs start with either one line or one verse when I start writing, and within 15 minutes most of them are complete.  Once my fingers go to the keyboard, the words flow like a river from the throne of God.  The enter my Spirit by His voice.  I just copy them down and post them.

So again, I thank you.  This is a labor of love between God and me.  It is a labor of love for you.

Be blessed!
