Heaven’s Delight

He God commanded the Light to shine
The first day of creation
The fourth day the Sun moon and stars were made
He placed each in their station

So what was the Light that He made first
The one that He spoke into being
It was the Word of God come to illuminate all
From the darkness that had been reigning

Still today the sun moon and stars do shine
Dividing the day and the night
The first Light is still there to show us the way
From hell fire to heaven’s delight

Look to the Light of the World today
Jesus Christ the Word made flesh
He’ll take all your sorrows and sins away
And cover you with His grace

The Believers Walk

In His Image

He guides me by His hand
To walk within His plan
Day by day
He shows the way
To follow His command

He holds me in His arms
I never feel alarm
Tight and secure
I’m always sure
I’m safe from earthly harm

In His image He made me
To walk these daily steps indeed
But not by earthly form
His grace I do adorn
His mercy flows through me
His love to others seeps
This is the image He had planned for me

He walks beside my way
So I won’t go astray
He’ll pick me up
If I get stuck
He’ll make sure I’m okay

I am His hands and feet
I am His mouth and heart
I am His messenger
Through me He does impart
His mercy and His grace
Must flow through my embrace
So may I always know
His image I must show

In His image He made me

Let Your Prayer be Heard

I pray today that you be healed
Of sickness you may carry
Take up your bed
By God be led
Don’t let this sickness tarry

I pray today that you be free
Of finance that does bind you
Ask wisdom from
The Lord above
He’ll tell you what to do

God does authorize our prayers
Over all the power of the enemy
Nothing can stand against His word
He overcome the world for me

I pray today that you be free
Of sins that haunt your life
He died that day
On Calvary
Accept His sacrifice

I pray today that faith will rise
Within your new creation mind
And you will know
He loves you so
And will for all of time

No matter what your prayer may be
He authorizes you to speak
To quench the power of the enemy
So let your prayer be heard

God does authorize our prayers
Over all the power of the enemy
Nothing can stand against His word
He overcome the world for me

Your Child

You’re everything to me
Through all my days
In all my ways
Your child I’ll always be

You fill me with your spirit
You captivate my mind
My sin is gone
By your sweet love
Freedom in you I find

And when the storms come my way
I merely call your name
You calm the sea
Your arms hold me
I’m safe in your embrace

I’ll lift my praises to you
I’ll lift your precious name
I love you so
Jesus my Lord

All of these stories and so many more
Have been shared by folk down through the years
By consensus they are what we call fairy tales
Just to bring us both laughter and tears

But the story of Jesus is real my friend
He came down from heaven for you
He is King of Kings and Lord of Lords
He came to tell us the truth

God loved us so much he gave us His Son
Jesus died on the cross for me
Then He rose again to give us new life
Forever we are set free

If you’ve not accepted this gift today
The gift of His mercy and grace
Then confess your sin
Ask Him to come in
Then you will be saved today

I Had Been Good

I wandered aimlessly about
Not knowing I was wrong
Thinking all the while
That God would go along

He didn’t mind my sin
He really understood
After all most of my life
I really had been good

Then i heard that Jesus
Was God’s only true Son
I learned He died for me
So my sins would be gone

He took all my transgression
He nailed it to that cross
‘Twas then I realized
What my sin truly cost

I asked Him to forgive me
To wash my sins away
I told Him I would make Him Lord
I’d serve Him every fay

Now I am bound for heaven
I pray that you are too
Make Jesus Christ your Lord today
His love will pardon you

I Want to Thank You Lord

In appreciation of all the psalms, poems, songs and worship choruses the Lord has given me over the past 8 years, I am posting my favorite one for the daily prompt this morning.  My singing is not the best, but the message is from my heart.  Even through my battle with cancer, I never stopped thanking Him for His mercy.  We serve an awesome God.

I want to thank you Lord for your mercy in my life
I want to thank you Lord for your great sacrifice
You have given me your all
Help me give my all to you
I want to thank you Lord

You deserve the highest praise
You deserve the highest praise
You deserve the hghest praise
My heart can give

I think we all should be aware
That we all touch the lives
Of people all around us
In ways that might surprise

Some might be like pepper
Hot and full of zip
Others more like lemon
Sour words that nip

Some might burn like cinnamon
Some garnish like parsley
Some are sweet like sugar
Some are like rosemary

As a Christian I am called
To be salt of the earth
This spice has many uses
But one is to preserve

I am called to help you through
The roughest hours and days
To keep you through the storms
By building up your faith

Salt does not tear down or hurt
It only helps survive
May all who say they follow Christ
Be salt to others lives

No One Knows

No one knows the depth of sin that once ruled in my heart
No one knows the damage that this sin to me imparts
No one knows the chains that bound my mind to think I’m smart
No one knows but Jesus

No one knows the depth of love that God showed me that day
No one knows the cost He bore to give His Son away
No one knows how much it took to change my sinful ways
No one knows but Jesus

He knows my every sorrow
He knows my every care
He knows when I am hurting
His love is always there
He knows my inner struggles
He knows my wandering heart
He knows deep down I love Him
His love never departs

No one knows how much I want to serve Him with my all
No one knows exactly what will be my lifelong call
No one knows how often I still stumble and then fall
No one knows but Jesus

He gave His all for me
That day on Calgary
He died to take my sin and set me free
He knew what it would take
This was no mistake
He bled and died
Then rose on high
To bring me victory

He knows my every sorrow
He knows my every care
He knows when I am hurting
His love is always there
He knows my inner struggles

He knows deep down I love Him
