Enduring Love

Nothing I have done. No riches I have gained
Nothing I have written. No fame that I’ve attained
Nothing in this life can ever take the place
Of your enduring love and your amazing grace

I look up at the heavens and see the stars so bright
The dawn will soon awaken and birds will sing delight
All nature points to you and sings their songs of praise
For your enduring love and your amazing grace

CHORUS
All that I am I owe to you
All that I’ll be. All that I’ll do
I will forever sing your praise
Enduring love. Amazing grace

I look back at my past and see all you have done
My sins you bore alone. My victory you’ve won
And now I can not help but sing my song of praise
For your enduring love and your amazing grace

BRIDGE
I look ahead to what the future holds
I know there’s much that you would have me know
I yield myself to run this lifelong race
Enduring love. Amazing grace

I am always amazed when I hear people say they don’t believe in God. All of nature shows Him to us. He gave us this creation so we could see how much He loves us. Do you really think this just happened by chance? That humming birds somehow gained the ability to fly in place, their wings beating at 10 to 15 times a second? Or that the stars just happened to align themselves to form a big and a small dipper? Or that one star could be at the center of all stars and show us true north, becoming a means of navigation? How could that happen if things just scattered at a big bang? How could one planet be exactly far enough away from a sun to form plant life? How could animals even start to exist without a divine creator to begin the process? How could DNA become so complex without a designer? These questions, and so many more, need to be answered if one does not believe in a God who gives us all things.

As for me, I know He is real. I know he loves me. I know He has had grace upon me. I know He is with me every day. I know He carries me when I am down, heals me when I am sick, delivers me when I am in bondage and encourages me when I am discouraged. He calms my storms and gives me peace. He bore my sorrows and replaces them with joy. I am so thankful for His amazing grace and His enduring love. I don’t want to live without Him

John 15:5 King James Version (KJV)
5 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing.

I Want To be Close To You

I want to be close to you
I want to be by your side
I want to know you’re near
In the darkest night
I want to hear your voice
Above the noise
I want to be close to you my Lord

Jesus you are my desire
Jesus you are my delight
Jesus you set my heart on fire
Draw me close to you
Draw me close to you

I have a tendency to wander. I am not sure why I wander away from God sometimes, but I do. I can easily find myself, all of a sudden, far from Him and I realize it is not where I want to be. I am lost amid a sea of doubt and confusion, of worry and sorrow. It is not a place I should be, but a place where I put myself. No one leads me there or takes me there. No one has come and convinced me it is the best place to be. I just make a decision to wander far off and I don’t want to be there. I want to be close to Him once again.

I want to be close to Him because that is where healing is. That is where deliverance is. That is where faith is, where peace is and where joy is. Next to Him is where I can rest, it is where my storms are stilled and where living waters flows. It is where I can eat of the bread of life and stand in the light. It is where I can once again find my way because He is the way. It is where love abides and where hope arises. Close to Him is where my desires are fulfilled and where my dreams come true. It is where the found of blessing is and where mercy is always extended. Grace is at His footstool and glory at His throne. I never want to leave His side.

James 4:8 King James Version (KJV)
8 Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you. Cleanse your hands, ye sinners; and purify your hearts, ye double minded.

Shine On Me

I’ve lost control. I am undone
Can’t fight the fight you already won

I put my faith in you alone
My God, my strength. Your light has shone

Shine on me to show me who I am
Shine on me to show my heart to me
Shine on me I do not know myself
Let me see who I should be

I lift my hands to give you praise
I cry Oh, Lord I need your grace

The light has come. The light has come
Into my heart. He overcomes
In all my sorrow and my shame
I fully trust in Jesus name

Shine on me to show me who I am
Shine on me to show my heart to me
Shine on me I do not know myself
Let me see who I should be

Shine, Jesus, shine
Search my heart, oh God
Shine Jesus, shine
Show me who I am

I love to walk early in the morning. It is quiet, there are no cars around and no one else is walking or running on the bike path on town. I can walk, raising my hands and singing along with my worship music and no one will hear me except God. It’s my quiet time alone with Him. Often this is when He speaks to me the words I put in my songs and poems. Other times, he speaks to me when I first get up in the morning. When the light hits my eyes and dispels the darkness in my bedroom, I am ready to sit down on my computer and type out His words. It is at this time I realize He has knees again brought the light of His Word into my heart and searched me. He ahs brought me to my knees once again as he has shown me who I really am. I am a sinner standing before the God of the universe, the King of Kings and the Lord of Lords. I have no right to be in His court because I have been walking in darkness. His court is full if light. There are no shadows, which seems odd to me. But then I realize that the shadows of my past sins are gone. They are no more. He has taken them away and I am standing in His pure light. There is no darkness at all. So I lift my hands to worship Him because he has brought me out of the darkness into His glorious light. I am a free man!

1 John 1:7 King James Version
7 But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.

Back Into His Hand

My life has ups and downs
Like a yo-yo spins around
Falling closely to the ground
Then back into His hand

My life is like a boomerang
That flies by its own plan
The circles back again
Back into His hand

I have a tendency to wander
Every time I turn and stray
I yearn again to find my way
Back into His hand

When I seem so far away
I fall on my knees and pray
Father please bring me safely
Back into your hand

There’s no place I’d rather be
When my troubles surround me
Then returning home again
Back into His hand

The nation of Israel is an amazing story of a people who had plenty of ups and downs/ The were captive in Egypt for over 400 years, slave laborers to Pharaoh. Their burden was heavy. Then God called Moses to bring His people out of that bondage, a fulfillment of a prophecy given to Abraham 400 years earlier. Through a series of 10 miracles, God freed them from their slavery only to lead them into the wilderness. For 4 years He led them circling around the wilderness before they finally got to their destination. Once there, they faltered and wandered even more. Only this time it was their spiritual life that faltered. They forgot the God that saved them, freed them and delivered them. The forgot the God who fed them , protected them and fought for them. God assigned judges, then kings to guide the, but they never could be consistent. Up and down, close to God then far away.

I am too much like them, unfortunately. I have days when I feel real close to god and others I walk way from Him. It’s not that I want to be outside of His protection. I just find myself wandering there and then wishing I had not. I cry out to Him and every time He brings me back into His loving hands. What mercy He shows, what grace He bestows whenever I call on His name!

Matthew 14:31 King James Version
31 And immediately Jesus stretched forth his hand, and caught him, and said unto him, O thou of little faith, wherefore didst thou doubt?

My Shield

My enemy came against me.
He started talking to me with enticing words.
He told me I should go my own way and do those things that I wanted to do
even though they would not be pleasing to God
I raised my sword the word of God defend myself
but all the knowledge that I had was not enough to quiet his voice.
It was not enough to dispel those thoughts.
They keep coming back to me.
My sword was quick and my sword was strong
but it still was not enough
because the fiery darts were firing so fast and from so many different directions.
I needed more in then my sword.
I lifted up my shield,
the Lord is my shield and with faith I dispelled those fiery darts of the enemy.
I praise God that He gave me my shield to protect me from my enemies
My Lord be my shield forever so that I might walk in Victory

I often hear people say that quoting the scripture is enough to get rid of the enemy. It is enough to bring healing into our lives. It is enough to set the captive free, to open blinded eyes and deaf ears. The Word is enough to bring someone victory over sin. All we need is the Word of God. After all, when Jesus finished His sojourn in the wilderness, He quoted scripture to Satan and Satan had to flee. Can’t I use that same formula to bring my enemy to his knees and run from me? The answer is no.

Through the years, I have acquired a vast knowledge of scripture. There are many with much more knowledge than I, and many who can quote verses and addresses with ease. Reading through the Bible over 6 times and studying various books, words and lessons, God has developed in me a great deal of knowledge that I can draw from in all types of distresses. This knowledge is wonderful to have but I need something else to activate this knowledge and make it applicable in tough situations. Paul told us that the Word of God is our sword in battle, our only offensive weapon.. But He also said we needed our shield. The shield protects us from our enemy by dispelling the thoughts he throws at s all the time. Paul says the shield is our faith. The psalmist says it is the Lord. Combine the two and you have faith in the Lord. Attach that your knowledge and you can move mountains!

Psalm 59:11 King James Version
11 Slay them not, lest my people forget: scatter them by thy power; and bring them down, O Lord our shield.

Worship Him Alone

Holy is the Lord
Seated on the throne
Clothed in royal majesty
Worship Him alone

Holy is the Lamb
Worshiped and adored
Let His name be magnified
Jesus Christ my Lord

Jesus, my Lord
Jesus, my Lord
I lift my hands up to the sky
I lift my voice to magnify
Your name is worthy of my praise
Jesus Christ my Lord

All I want to do is praise Him. From the mornings dawn to the setting sun, I lift my hands in praise. As I gaze up at the wonders in the glorious stars, I can’t help but stand in awe of His creation. I lift my voice to magnify His name, His wondrous name. he is not seated on His throne in heaven. He paid the price for my sin and has been raised by His Father, who loved Him. His Father sent Him to show how much he loved each one of us. He loves all of us so much. He loves you more than you can imagine. He loves me more than I can fathom. That is why I praise Him. That is why I glorify His name. That is why I sing this song today, and each song He gives me every day. Because He is worthy of my praise. Not because He provides for me, protects me, delivers me, saves me and does so much for me. I praise Him simply because he is worthy.

Psalm 8:9
O LORD, our Lord, how majestic is your name in all the earth!

Be Unto You

From the rising sun ‘til the new day dawns,
I lift my praise to thee.

From the mountains high to the oceans deep,
I lift my praise to thee.

All is yours. All I see.
I will bow down at your feet.

Honor, Glory, Power and dominion
Be unto you. Be unto you.
Praise and worship, all my ovation
Be unto you. Be unto you.

There is no one else in this universe worthy of our worship. People worship all kinds of things and all kinds of people. They go to places of worship and sing worship songs. They lift their voices and bow their heads in reverence to a variety of so-called gods. They pledge their allegiance and put their trust in a variety of hopeful ventures and pursuits. Many are so consumed by work, or play, or leisure or even ministry that they miss the whole point of our existence. We were made to worship. We were made to have fellowship with God. He desires to walk in the garden with us and not have us hide our face from Him. He desires that we be honest with Him and not try to shift the blame. He desires that we obey the simplest of rules because there are so few that really matter. Yet we pile on rules and laws just like the Pharisees did in Jesus time. Jesus only said we “must” do two things. Be born again and worship Him in spirit and in truth. Simple truths.

Are you caught up in worshiping something or someone other than Jesus? Are you bound up by rules and laws that say you must do this or that in order to gain your salvation? Did Jesus say you must do it? I implore you today to look to the Lamb of God, slain from the beginning of time for your sins. Worship Him alone!

Revelation 5:13 King James Version
And every creature which is in heaven, and on the earth, and under the earth, and such as are in the sea, and all that are in them, heard I saying, Blessing, and honour, and glory, and power, be unto him that sitteth upon the throne, and unto the Lamb for ever and ever.

In Your Presence

I look up at the stars and wonder why you are
So in love with me
You send your spirit down to follow me around
He is there eternally

In your presence there is peace
In your presence there is joy abundantly
I can rest every day in your presence
In your presence

All my life you have been near lending me an ear
You know my every prayer
You give shelter in the storm and shade when life gets warm
In troubles you are there

In your presence there is hope
In your presence truth I know
I can rest every day in your presence
In your presence

What a wonderful truth to know
That you’ll always be by my side
What a wonderful gift you give
Your sweet Spirit will abide with me

I will rest in your presence
I will rest in your presence
I will rest in your presence
Every day

Why do worry and doubt even come into my life when I know that Jesus is right there with me. He can calm every storm, heal every wound, cast out every demon, give life to every dead gift and deliver me from any enemy, When I have Jesus as my friend, He is always with me, always watching over me, always providing for me, always protecting me and always listening to my prayers. He told us that he would never leave us or forsake us, so why do we go through the uncertainties that crowd out our faith. Feel His presence there with you and block out the endless trash talk of the enemy. Only there will you find true peace and joy.

2 Corinthians 3:17 King James Version
17 Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty.

Overflow

The priceless love of Jesus
Flows down from heavens throne
His precious blood was spilled for me
That day He died alone

All that he did for me
On the cross of Calvary
Is written in His word
For all to see

I want to know your love, Lord
I want to have it in my heart
I want to know your love, Lord
Fill me up, Fill my cup

Overflow, Lord, overflow
Let the river of your love flow through me
Overflow, Lord, overflow
Let the river of your love flow through me

In John Chapter 4 Jesus told the Samaritan woman that rivers of living water would be given to her if she would drink of the water He had to give. She looked around and saw that he had no cistern or cup, and had nothing to draw water from the well. She asked how he could give her water when He had no way to draw it. What is this living water? How can rivers of it flow through me?

The answer to that has taken me years to figure out. I may still not have it quite right but I will share with you what the Lord is sharing with me. The living water is those precious fruit of the Spirit that come to dwell inside us once we get saved. These attributes of love, joy, peace, long-suffering,, gentleness, goodness, faith, meekness and temperance are not only ours to enjoy, but also ours to distribute to others. These things should flow out of your life to everyone you meet, so much so that they want what you have. We must make a habit of regularly filling ourselves up again so that we have more to distribute. We can’t just sit back and enjoy our salvation and do nothing. These things will flow out of your life at first, but then they will slowly get corrupted, as a vehicle does with rust, until the fruit are all of no use anymore and have been replaced by opposites. Lover is replaced by .fear, joy by sorrow, peace by turmoil, patience by anxiety, gentleness by a mean spirit, goodness by a disregard for others’ needs, faith by doubt, meekness by pride and temperance by gluttony.. When you start to spread these things around, people disapprove. Your witness becomes boring and typical to them. They expect Christians to fail and be just like them.

Don’t allow your fruit to become moldy! Let the living water overflow from within you so that rivers are formed in the desserts of other people’s lives!

Isaiah 43:18-19
21st Century King James Version
18 “Remember ye not the former things, neither consider the things of old.
19 Behold, I will do a new thing; now it shall spring forth; shall ye not know it? I will even make a way in the wilderness and rivers in the desert.
