The Celestial City
I can’t wait to get home to glory
Where my precious Jesus I’ll see
I;ll walk through those pearly gates
And onto the celestial sea
Golden streets will welcome my footsteps
Trees of healing will line the street
And I’ll sit at the feast He has made me
And then my Jesus I’ll meet
Oh what singing there ll be in that City
The Celestial City of God
All praises to Him will be lifted
I will stand before Him in awe
I urge you to make sure your ready
By making Jesus your Lord
And one day you’ll enter to heaven

True Worship
Sometimes Hallelujah does it
Sometimes Praise the Lord
But I find worship not just words
It takes in so much more
Jesus said to feed the poor
And help all those in need
This command is just as strong
As praying on our knees
He asked us His grace to show
To all we see each day
Yet often when that grace should show
We turn and walk away
Jesus said forgive them all
Our enemies and friends
But we hold grudges endlessly
And waste in bitterness
When will we learn that kind and gentle
Is our Savors hope?
When will we learn our highest aim
Is the lowest road?
When will we learn humility
Is His wish for us?
When will we learn His Spirit’s voice
And in Him put our trust?
So come on church lets rise and sing
With voices raised up high
And let’s be servants every time
A need should come on by
Verbal Assault or Verbal Healing
This is an excellent read from Susan Fox’s blog. Please take a few minutes.
I had a picture in my mind this morning of those little yellow markers placed on the ground in movies and TV shows when experts investigate a crime scene. In this case they did not mark bullets or shell casings. They marked deadly words.
I saw words shooting out of semi-automatic weapons and mowing down parents and children, homeless and housed, believers and doubters, victims and perpetrators, sinners and saints.
“What is this?” I asked.
“Verbal assault weapons.”
Is it my imagination or is verbal assault on the rise? Do people feel the need to arm themselves with harsher and stronger words to defend against rogue offenders on the internet – or complete strangers in news stories, for that matter?
We are becoming accustomed to hearing the insults and nasty innuendo that is politics-as-usual, but this week I am sick at heart at the cruel words aimed at parents who have lost…

Open Up
Have you closed your heart?
Have you shut your mind?
Is your spirit all cooped up?
Are you stuck in time?
Wondering how to change?
Then it’s time to open up!
Open up to the fact that God loves you
Open up to His mercy and grace
Open up to the knowledge He knows you best
And He cares for you more than you know.
Open up to the Spirit’s calling
His sweet voice is sounding your name
He will take all your sin and bury it
He will wash you as white as snow.
Are you wanting peace?
Joy and hope within?
Faith and love to win?
Then Open up today
To Jesus
Touch One
Your Mighty Name
I lift my praise to you
In all I say and do
I lift my arms to you
I long to worship you
For you alone are worthy of my praise
You give me breath each day
You tell he sun to raise
You put me on my feet
Your flowers smell so sweet
You keep me from the flood
You always fill my cup
You’ll never leave my side
From you I cannot hide
So I will worship you
In everything I do
I’ll give you all my praise
And lift your holy name
I will give my all
To glorify you Lord
You the only one
whom I will adore
You fill me with your peace
It sets my mind at ease
You flood me with your joy
It makes me want to soar
The hope you give to me
Just makes me want to breath
And your love tops it all
The greatest love of all
I praise you for the love
You give me from above
I don’t deserve your grace
You give it anyway
Your mercy flows so free
For all eternity
So I will always praise
Your mighty name
What a Universe!
Can you see the beauty of creation all around you
Flowers blooming in the springtime
Leaves falling in the fall
Do you stop and look at stars up above you
Or the way the sun keeps time
Or the way the stars can fall?
Does it ever occur to you
That there’s an order to it all
That cannot be just circumstance
The course of nature’s due
To one celestial call
It is not a matter of just chance
So the next time someone says
A bang is what explains
The start of this great universe we love
I’d ask you to take days
To speak to them real plan
And tell them of our precious God above
