He Is The Answer

Why do I question my tomorrow when He’s got tomorrow in His hand
Why do I question my future when He’s always working out His plan
Why do I question what He’s doing when He’s doing good for me
Why do I question my decisions when He’s got His arms around me

Why do I wonder if I hear Him when His voice is deep inside me
Why do I wonder if He’ll heal me when breath is still flowing through me
Why do I wonder if He’ll hear me when He’s answered every prayer
Why do I wonder if He’s near me when He said He’ll always be there

I don’t have to question but I do
I don’t have to wonder what will be
I just have to rest in His arms
For He knows what’s best for me
Come trial or test
Come trouble or pain
I know I am His
I know I’ll be safe
I’ll trust in His love
For He is enough
Yes, He is the answer for me

It’s inevitable. At some point in our lives we will question God. We will question what He is doing. We will ask why we have to go through this trial or that struggle. We will wonder how our financial obligations will be met. We will be concerned over what the future holds when today looks so bleak. These question and many more are no problem for God. He is the answer to every question. He will answer you if you ask Him. That promise is repeated over and over and over again in His Word. Psalm 66:18, Jeremiah 33:3, John 14:14, are just a few of the many examples. He has no intention of leaving us in a place of questioning and doubt. His word is there to build our faith upon, to show us His ways, to reveal His plan for our lives. When questions start to arise, get into the word, for there you will find your answers. This world does not have the answer to these questions. I do not have the answer. But He does. Trust Him!

Matthew 7:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Alive In Me

Holy is He
Holy is He
Sweet Lamb of God
Risen Indeed
High and lifted up
For all the world to see
Jesus Christ alive in me

Worthy is He
Worthy is He
Lion of Judah
Victory indeed
Seated on the throne
For all eternity
Jesus Christ alive in me.

There is none like Him. No one came before Him. No one else helped in the creation of our world. No one else formed man with His own hands. No one else breathed life into that man. No one else left His throne in heaven to come to earth as a man. No on else was beaten, bruised, mocked, spit on, received a crown of thorns and was crucified for the sins of the world. No one has ever lived who has risen from the dead. No one has had a larger affect on all mankind. No one has left the legacy He has. No one has touched as many lives as He has. No one else can claim the throne in heaven. No one else will be coming back with His armies. No one else will judge the world. No one else will rule forever and ever. Jesus is the only One.

He is the Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end. He is the bright and morning star and the sweet Rose of Sharon. He is the wonderful counselor, the prince of peace and the everlasting Father. He is my Savior, my Redeemer, my deliverer, my provider, my protector and my Lord. He will never leave me or forsake me. He will dry my tears and ease my fears. He will bring peace in the storm and rivers in the desert. He is my rest and my release. He does all things for my good and he turns every trial into triumph. He forgives me and washes me with His love. He is Jesus Christ, God’s only Son.

John 1:29 King James Version (KJV)
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.

Nothing Is Impossible With God

One man heard from God when a flood was coming
His family got together and built them an ark
One hundred years that boat was in the making
All of them were saved since they listened to God

One boy came to the battle with a sling on his hip
The giant came out and hollered at the crowd
That boy grab some stones and ran to the battle
He flung that stone real hard and the giant hit the ground

CHORUS
Nothing is impossible with God
Nothing is too big, nothing is too hard
Nothing is impossible with God
Come to Him today. Don’t get scared away
Bring your biggest problems to the Lord

Three men decided they would not bow before a statue
The king got really mad and flared the furnace hot
He threw those three men in suspected they would burn up
Those three men trusted God and came out alive

CHORUS

BRIDGE
No battle too big. No mountain too high.
No river to swift. No storm can abide.
His power is greater. His love is immense
So give Him your battles. He’ll save you again and again.

CHORUS

Four years ago, the enemy put cancer in front of me. A difficult cancer. A hard cancer to go through. My blood was 63% cancerous. The enemy tried and tried and tried again to out fear in my heart. He tried to discourage me. He tried to bring my wife and I to a place where we questioned God. But he would not. We knew who we believed. We knew a god who performed miracles all the time. We knew a God who could never be defeated. We knew as long as we trusted in Him, everything would come out OK. We knew that he always took everything that comes into our lives and turns it for our good There was no doubt in our minds that God would bring us through victorious and would do wonderful things in our lives along the way.. We had the victory before the battle even started!

What are you facing today? What has the enemy of your soul put in front of you trying to draw you away from your faith and into doubt? God is big enough to bring you through also. Trust Him!

Proverbs 3:5-6 KJV
Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not unto your own understanding
In all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your path

Effective Prayer

He Has the Power

He has the power to take my troubled past
And turn me into a a blessing that will last
He has the power to free me from my sin
And make me whole way down deep within

He has the power to turn my longing heart
Into a vessel that bursts it’s seems apart
He has the power to take this washed up soul
And make it new again in service for my Lord

He has the power my sorrow to erase
And bring out joy in every single case
He has the power to calm the raging storm
And bring me peace as I walk along the shore

He has the power to take the old man out
Create a new man who walks without a doubt
He has the power to cast my fears away
With His great love that follows me each day

He has the power to take the hardest things
He hears my prayers and all my answers brings
He has the power to walk with me each day
And gently guide me along His blessed way

In the beginning, God spoke the world into existence, brought light by merely saying “Let there be Light” and brought all life into this world by His words. He brought 10 plagues on the Egyptians, parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, brought them manna in the wilderness and quails in abundance and then opened up the flooded Jordan River to they could pass into the Promised Land. He knocked down the walls of Jericho with a shout, gave Joshua battle plans for victory against all His enemies, gave Caleb the strength to claim his inheritance and caused Ruth to come to Boaz. He gave Gideon a plan, strengthened Samson’s hand, guided the stone from David’s sling saved Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fiery furnace, and shut the lion’s mouth for Daniel. He healed the leper, gave the blind man sight, made the lame man walk and the dumb to talk. He raised the dead, made water into wine, fed five thousand with a young boy’s lunch and took all of our sins to a cross.

When we see the mighty works of God throughout the Bible, how can we not have the faith to know He can take care of our needs? He has the power to do anything we ask Him to do. He may not do it exactly as we have asked, but He will answer our prayers. He promises this over and over again in His word. Will you believe Him today for the things in your life that are lacking?

Jeremiah 33:3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

Honestly

Honestly
I must admit that I fail woefully
But you still show me that your mercy’s free
Honestly

Honestly
I don’t deserve the grace you give to me
All around are blessings I can see
Honestly

Nothing before me. Nothing behind me
Nothing below or from above
No other power, strength or dominion
Can ever separate your love (from me)

I am so good at deceiving myself into thinking God doesn’t know that I am doing this thing or that. Or that He doesn’t care if I am disobeying one of those little Old Testament commands. After all,. Jesus paid for my sins when He died on the cross. I’m covered by grace, after all, and the Old testament law has been abolished. I’m under the New Covenant now, which means I am saved by grace and God has forgiven all my sins. Doesn’t that mean I can go about my own business and not worry about following ever command He gives? Doesn’t that mean if I do sin, He will forgive me readily and apply His grace once again?

The answer to the first question is no. Willful sin is not something we, as Christians, ought to be doing. When we accept Christ, we die to sin. In Galatians 2:20, Paul said he was crucified with Christ, and yet He lived. He died to the flesh just as Christ did, and he now lives in the Spirit, just as Christ does. He goes on to say that the life He now lives in the flesh is only by the grace of God. God’s grace keeps us from hell. It makes us a new creation, old things are supposed to be passed away! New things are supposed to come alive in us. When the enemy comes and tries to lure us back into our old ways, we musty stand against Him with the full armor of God! Walking into old sin willfully can be a serious offence, as we are commanded to walk in His word by the Spirit.

The answer to the second question is yes. He will forgive because His love never ends. It never dies. He always loves us and will always forgive us. But we have to come to Him and confess that sin and repent to go the other way. He does not forgive us so we can just go and sin again. he desires that we are clean and spotless, and we should do all we can to stay away from the dirtiness of sin. Nothing can separate us from His love!

Romans 8:38-39 King James Version (KJV)
38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.

(Here’s How the Chorus goes!

My Father Loves Me

He is always with my
Walks beside me
Guards behind me
Leads before me
Whispers to me
Words of love
Words of mercy
Words if grace
He is as patient as the bee
Waiting for the flower to bloom
He is as joyful as the bird
Who teaches her young how to fly
He has plans for me
Plans greater than I can see
His plans for this universe
Are no match for His plans for me
He always wants what us best
He always brings good
Out of everything that comes my way
The hardest trial brings the greatest victory
The deepest valley brings amazing growth
The fiercest storm brings rainbows of treasure
Because He brings good out of all things
I never have to fear
I never have to worry
I never have to doubt
I never have to wonder
What He says He will do
Because He cannot lie
He says He hears my cry so He does
He says He will answer my prayers so He will
He says He will show my His ways so I shall see
He says He will speak to me so His words will come
I can depend in Him like the sunrise
I can rely on Him like the stars at night
He is everlasting
He is almighty
He is glorious
He is wonderful
He is amazing
He is my King
He is my Lord
He is my Savior
He is my redeemer
He is my God
He is my Father
And He loves me.

Jesus More

More than all the riches this world can afford
More than all the power I can find
More than all the glory man may cast my way
I need Jesus more

More than all the wisdom I can yet attain
More than all the knowledge I could gain
More than all the things this world can offer me
I need Jesus more

He gives me life and hope
He gives me peace and joy
He gives me grace abundantly
He gives me pardon for my sin
He gives me life so deep within
There is nothing I would not give
To have Jesus more

There is so much I have to learn. So much I want to know. So much I can yet attain if I would just spend more time with Him. He is the source of all knowledge and wisdom, the source of all that I could ever want. It is not the riches or fame of this world that will satisfy the human soul. It is not attaining great fame that will bring me pleasure in this life. Many have walked that road and failed to accomplish the one thing that all desire – happiness and contentment. That is what the human soul longs for more than anything else. We try our drugs, alcohol, sinfulness, power grabs, riches attained and all those other worldly things but in the end they do not bring these two things. They only bring a desire for more in us. There is never enough to fulfill our lust for this world and for satisfying the flesh.

Desiring more of Jesus is different than desiring the things of this world because He is the source of all things good and right. In Him we can find contentment even though we still seek to know Him more. In Him we can be blessed even though we do not have the trappings of this world’s wealth. Indeed, we are much opposite to that. When we have more of Jesus, we are poor in spirit, we mourn, we are meek, we hunger and thirst for righteousness, we are merciful, we are peacemakers. When we have more of Jesus we do for others as we would want them to do for us. We do not have to satisfy this earthly flesh, but have a much higher calling to please Him. More of Jesus is truly the place of blessing and contentment for our lives.

Philippians 4:11 King James Version (KJV)
11 Not that I speak in respect of want: for I have learned, in whatsoever state I am, therewith to be content.

On Christ Alone I Stand

Faith rises up within me
As on His word I stand
There is no greater mercy
Than Jesus Christ commands
My surgery behind me
My healing quickly comes
I stand upon His promise
My victory is won

On Christ alone I stand
I’m healed by His great hand
There is no greater plan
On Christ alone I stand

I had hernia surgery two days ago. It was quite a thing to go through. I had no fear, no trepidation, as I knew it had to be done. I was so calm that my heart rate was down around 50 and my body temp was at 96. The nurse asked if that was normal and I said no, but I am calm, cool and collected about having this surgery. The nurse laughed and my wife gave me that look that only a loving wife can concern over the pain that would accompany my recovery, as they said they would give me hydrocodone for the pain, and I knew they didn’t prescribe that very often. But I was ready. The surgery went smoothly and I awoke in the recovery room slowly. When they tried to get me up on my feet, my right leg just gave way like rubber due to the local anesthetic they used. It took a little bit to get me walking. An hour later we came home.

Recovery has been aided greatly by my granddaughter being here to care for me. The hospital called yesterday to see how I was doing. They were so pleased that was walking around without any help, there was no swelling or bruising, no pain when just sitting or walking. There was a sharp ten pain when getting up, and about a five getting down again. But that is survivable. I am thankful for all those who have been praying for me. Jesus Christ is my healer and He is doing a swift job of it. By faith I will be better than ever in a few more days (maybe weeks, but I accept His timetable). In Christ alone I stand!

Isaiah 53:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.

You Are Always There

In my trials and tribulations
In my sorrow and my pain
In the midst of all my battles
You are always there with me

When I feel like I’m abandoned
When it seems I’m off the road
When my fear and doubt have risen
You are always there with me

You will calm the storm that rages in me
You will heal each dread disease
You will hold me up in the shadow of your wings
Because you are always there for me

We remember the words of Jesus so easily. He told us He would never leave us or forsake us. There are times in our life when it would be easy to think that God has forgotten us. When I go t that cancer diagnosis in March of 2016, it would have been easy to think that God has pulled His protection out from under me and I was alone. But than I remembered that Jesus wasn’t the first one to recognize God was always with us. David had many times where he could have doubted God was with Him. When Saul threw the javelin at him twice, I’m sure he wondered, When Nathan came to him and exposed his sin, he went into mourning. When he had to flee from his own son to avoid death, I’m sure he wondered where God was in all of this. But he knew God was there with him, as witnessed by these beautiful words from Psalm 139.

Psalm 139:7-13 KJV
7 Whither shall I go from thy spirit? or whither shall I flee from thy presence?
8 If I ascend up into heaven, thou art there: if I make my bed in hell, behold, thou art there.
9 If I take the wings of the morning, and dwell in the uttermost parts of the sea;
10 Even there shall thy hand lead me, and thy right hand shall hold me.
11 If I say, Surely the darkness shall cover me; even the night shall be light about me.
12 Yea, the darkness hideth not from thee; but the night shineth as the day: the darkness and the light are both alike to thee.
13 For thou hast possessed my reins: thou hast covered me in my mother’s womb.

When you’re facing your battles, do not fear and do not doubt. The everlasting God Surrounds you with His love and will always bring you good out of every situation. He will always guide you back to His path if you just trust Him. He is always for you and never against you. When it seems like He is not there usually He is doing His greatest work. So rest in Him, be still and know that He is God!
