My Constant Friend

When I’m fighting in the battle
When I’m lost and all alone
When I’m struggling in the valley
When I can’t find my way home

It is then I turn to Jesus
He’s my constant friend indeed
He will strengthen my convictions
He’ll supply my every need

Then I’ll see He’s walking with me
Then I’ll hear His blessed voice
Then I’ll know my prayer is answered
Then my soul will fill with joy

I do not have to go through life alone. Jesus said he will never leave me or forsake me. So when I come up against a trial, or when a wall blocks my way, I can turn to Him and He will always be there. This promise is made many times in His word, so I know it is true. There is no reason to doubt it. I could list all the scriptures that say he will hear me when I call, and I could list many scriptures that tell me He will answer my prayer. I am not going to do that because they can easily be found with the great internet service we all enjoy.

The struggle comes when we don’t believe them all the time. We don’t think He has answered, or that He is going to answer. When these times come, we need to ask God for wisdom because chances are He has answered, just not in the way we want Him to. His ways are higher than ours, and His thoughts greater. He always knows what is best for you and that is always what he will give. If your in a difficult situation and it seems to get worse and worse, then perhaps God is showing you just how much you can bear, how strong you really are in Him. Keep praying, keep believing, keep trusting His word. At the same time listen closely, because he may be telling you what you should do and your worries are drowning out His voice. His still, small voice is always there to guide and direct. Listen closely, and hear His answer.

Matthew 11:28 King James Version
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

He Is The Answer

Why do I question my tomorrow when He’s got tomorrow in His hand
Why do I question my future when He’s always working out His plan
Why do I question what He’s doing when He’s doing good for me
Why do I question my decisions when He’s got His arms around me

Why do I wonder if I hear Him when His voice is deep inside me
Why do I wonder if He’ll heal me when breath is still flowing through me
Why do I wonder if He’ll hear me when He’s answered every prayer
Why do I wonder if He’s near me when He said He’ll always be there

I don’t have to question but I do
I don’t have to wonder what will be
I just have to rest in His arms
For He knows what’s best for me
Come trial or test
Come trouble or pain
I know I am His
I know I’ll be safe
I’ll trust in His love
For He is enough
Yes, He is the answer for me

It’s inevitable. At some point in our lives we will question God. We will question what He is doing. We will ask why we have to go through this trial or that struggle. We will wonder how our financial obligations will be met. We will be concerned over what the future holds when today looks so bleak. These question and many more are no problem for God. He is the answer to every question. He will answer you if you ask Him. That promise is repeated over and over and over again in His Word. Psalm 66:18, Jeremiah 33:3, John 14:14, are just a few of the many examples. He has no intention of leaving us in a place of questioning and doubt. His word is there to build our faith upon, to show us His ways, to reveal His plan for our lives. When questions start to arise, get into the word, for there you will find your answers. This world does not have the answer to these questions. I do not have the answer. But He does. Trust Him!

Matthew 7:7 King James Version (KJV)
7 Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you:

Your Name Is Worthy

He is with me fighting all my battles
He is with me calming every storm
He is with me in the midst of danger
He is with me when I feel alone

Oh my God how great is your name
Lifted high above all else
Oh my God your name is worthy
To be raised.  To be praised

Jesus, mighty Savior
Jesus Lamb of God
Bore my sin a failures
On the cross.  On the cross

He is with me when I bow before Him
He is with me when I cry in prayer
He is with me when my hands are lifted
He is with me when I give my praise

Oh my God how great is your name
Lifted high above all else
Oh my God your name is worthy
To be raised. To be praised

Jesus, My redeemer
Rose up from the grave
Coming back in all His glory
All of heaven praise His name

I never have to wonder where Jesus is.  I never have to worry is He will  hear my cry.  I never have to worry if He will come and rescue me from the storms and trials of life.  He is always ready, willing and able to help me in any situation.  When I cry out to Him, He always hears me and He will always answer. It may not be the answer I am looking for, but it will be the best answer for my situation.  When I am weary, He may tell me to praise Him.  When I am in financial trouble, He may tell me to give.  When I need help, He may tell me to help my neighbor.  When storms come He may tell me to run into them, not away from them. He always knows what is best for me, for He is the one who formed me in my mother’s womb.  He knows everything about me and every thought I have.  He is never caught by surprise when I turn away from Him and He always knows what it will take to bring me back. He is always merciful always patient, always kind.  What an awesome God we serve!

Jeremiah 33:3 King James Version (KJV)
Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

I’m Tired

I’m tired of waiting. Waiting for you
For you to come through in this hour

I’m tired of hoping. Hoping that you.
Will carry me through with your power

Lord, I need you now. I don’t know how I can go on in this life
Lord, I need you now. Come set me free with your hand of mercy

I’m tired of watching the waves rolling in
The struggle within growing stronger

Then suddenly I hear your voice
You say to me my child rejoice
Your prayer has been heard in heaven
My mercy and my grace is here
There is no longer need to fear
The answer to your prayer is given

Lord, I thank you now. I don’t know how I could have doubted your love
Lord, I thank you now. With all my heart I lift my voice to praise you
With all my heart I lift my voice to praise you
With all my heart I lift my voice to praise you

There are often times when we get anxious about our prayers. We wonder if God has heard us. We wonder if God will answer our request. We wonder why He is taking so long to let us know His decision. We are not alone in this anxiety. Fourteen times in the Psalms David asks the Lord “How long?”. Job asked this of the Lord 7 times. I would say we are in good company when we ask how long, Lord. Daniel waited 21 days for an answer. Abraham waited seventeen years for an heir. The children of Israel waited 40 years before they entered the promised land and seventy years they toiled in exile before their prayers of deliverance were answered.

Take heart. God does hear your prayers. He will most assuredly answer them in His time and in His way because He loves you

Jeremiah 33:3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.
