My Heavenly Father

I once had a Father on earth

Who I barely knew at all

He left us when I was young

And He hardly ever called

 

We would get a gift at Christmas

And a visit here and there

But through time I grew bitter

And didn’t even care.

 

The anger inside grew mighty

As I reached my teenage years

I got into things angered my mom

And had her often in tears

 

I could not find my way through life

I struggled just to survive

The time had to come to turn around

Or I might take my life

 

Then a friend from a long time ago

Came and told me a story I knew

But He told it in such a different way

I listened and heard the truth

 

I have a heavenly Father

Who loves me very much

A heavenly Father up above

Who came my heart to touch

 

He gave His own son

To die in my place

And covered my sin

With amazing grace

 

His mercy is greater

Than all my shame

He’ll live in my heart

And call me by name

 

And one day he’ll come

And take me home

To a life everlasting

Around His throne

 

I love my heavenly Father

He takes care of all my needs

My heavenly Father

He’ll always be there for me

Hard times hit us all
Even happy people fell
Even we have days that cause us harm
But when we get real low
We know just where to go
Back to our Father’s loving arms
He holds His arms out wide
He’s ever at my side
He’s there to pick me up when I fall down
And if I bruise my soul
He heals me ’til I’m whole
And sets my feet on solid ground
He loves me
More than anything
He loves me
So amazing
He loves me
Even when my love grows cold
He loves me
Through my troubled days
He loves me
When I’ve lost my way
He loves me
I cannot escape His love
His grace will cover me
Whenever I’m in need
His blessings come in every size and shape
His mercy overflows
My selfish, prideful soul
And helps those things to quietly escape
His sweet perfection slides
Into this heart of mine
Without me even knowing it’s His hand
And then one day I see
His humility in me
And I realize that this is what He planned
He loves me
He fills me with joy
He loves me
His peace is employed
He loves me
More than I can ever know
He loves me
I will sing His prsise
He loves me
I’ll worship His sweet name
He loves me
I cannot escape His love

Today the Lord had mercy on me
He kept away the enemy
And reminded me that I’m set free
Again
Today the Lord has blessed me much
All day I felt His spirits touch
His presence was around so much
Again
Today His grace filled me with peace
He gave my soul a sweet release
All day I felt calm and at ease
Again
Again and again He’s there for me
He always meets me at me need
He listens to my prayerful pleas
Again, and again, and again
Today He flooded me with love
As vast as all the stars above
And I can know that it will come
Again
Again His mercy will be mine
Again His blessing He’ll assign
Again He’ll give me grace each time
Again
But high above all these great things
The greatest gift that He does bring
Is His great love, of that I’ll sing

The Celestial City

I can’t wait to get home to glory

Where my precious Jesus I’ll see

I;ll walk through those pearly gates

And onto the celestial sea

 

Golden streets will welcome my footsteps

Trees of healing will line the street

And I’ll sit at the feast He has made me

And then my Jesus I’ll meet

 

Oh what singing there ll be in that City

The Celestial City of God

All praises to Him will be lifted

I will stand before Him in awe

 

I urge you to make sure your ready

By making Jesus your Lord

And one day you’ll enter to heaven

The Celestial City of God

High Above

Let’s all rejoice
And lift our voice
The King is on the throne
He Reigns on high
His glory shines
And He calls us His own.
Lift up His name
Shout out His praise
He rules in majesty
He’s high above
All other gods
And sets his heart on me
He sends His mercy to my side
Each time I trip and fall
Such mercy is too much for me
I don’t deserve it all
His grace pours blessing in my life
That overwhelms my soul
I can’t contain the gratitude
That He has made me whole
But greatest of the gifts He shows
Is His great love for me
He gave His life upon a cross
That day at Calvary
This love is so amazing
So wonderful and strong
That every moment I’m awake
I sing my worship song
Let’s all rejoice
And lift our voice
The King is on the throne
He Reigns on high
His glory shines
And He calls us His own.

Can you see the beauty of creation  all around you

Flowers blooming in the springtime

Leaves falling in the fall

Do you stop and look at stars up above you

Or the way the sun keeps time

Or the way the stars can fall?

 

Does it ever occur to you

That there’s an order to it all

That cannot be just circumstance

The course of nature’s due

To one celestial call

It is not a matter of just chance

 

So the next time someone says

A bang is what explains

The start of this great universe we love

 

I’d ask you to take days

To speak to them real plan

And tell them of our precious God above

You Promise

Where else would I go Lord?

Where else can I find

All the promises you’ve given

Coming through in my life?

 

You promise refuge from the storm

A hiding place for my soul

So I will not be fearful

When the days grow cold

 

You promise a fortress around me

To strengthen me when I am weak

The walls of your mercy rise mighty

To keep out the enemy

 

You promise me health and deliverance

From all that has gone before

I now longer walk in my past life

I can walk in your victory, lord

 

You promise me peace and joy

In a world where these are lost

You fill me with both of these virtues

And promise there won’t be a cost

 

You promise me salvation

Redemption from my sin

A new life birthed within me

Your Holy Spirt within

 

But more than all these things above

You promise me your steadfast love

It’s crowned with grace and mercy sweet

I will bow before your feet

For you are worthy of my praise

For all the wonder of your name

I’ll lift you high in all my days

And praise you for your promises

He Satisfies

To evening blaze

He satisfies

From night of dark

To morning lark

He satisfies

 

No time of day

Can slip His gaze

He satisfies

He always gives

What makes us live

He satisfies

 

The air I breath

The light need

He satisfies

The bird that sings

The rain in spring

He satisfies

 

The flowers bloom

The blessings loom

He satisfies

The food we eat

The grows at His feet

He satisfies

 

But more than all these things above

He satisfies us with His love

His peace and joy does fill my soul

He satisfies and makes me whole

 

His healing flows to every part

His deliverance is for my heart

His salvation, pure and free

He satisfies my ever plea

 

There’s nothing I can ever need

That my God doesn’t fill with glee

So I am here to testify

That my God always satisfies

When I’m Under Standing

Sometimes my understanding

Is with knowledge and with words

Ignorance is banished

My mind is now renewed

But only when I’m understanding

The wisdom of the Lord

Can I truly have the wisdom that I  need

For understanding God

Is to stand under His shadow

And be infused with His knowledge

Which leads to all understanding

So ‘ll be Under Standing God

And walk in all His mercy

And the wisdom He imparts

Will light my way.

Not yesterday
Today is the day
To praise the Lord

Not next week
Not last week
Today is the day
To worship Him
He is the one
Who gives us the present
He is the one
Who gives breath every day
He is the one
Who gives rythm to heart beats
Only my God
Can show me the way
Today is a present
All wrapped up in hope
His peace calms my spirit
His joy overflows
This wonderful present
Is mine for the asking
It comes every moment
From Jesus my King
He is the one
That showers with mercy
He is the one
Whose love reigns divine
He is the one
Who gives grace amazing
Only my God
Will always be mine
Today is the day
Today is the present
Today is my gift
From Jesus my Lord
Today I will praise Him
Today I will worship
Today is my chance
To give thanks to my Lord.
