The Believers Life

I Am Guilty

I have to admit I am guilty
I dissemble most every day
I write these short little verses
But I have quite more to say

The reason is not just to answer
The prompt that’s before my eyes
But to talk to you about living
For my Savior Jesus Christ

I want to see you in heaven
By these poems I reach out
And tell you about salvation
So you won’t have any doubt

He came to show you His kingdom
He died to free you from sin
He rose to give you eternal life
Today give your life to Him

The Believers Life

Your Friend

I’ve met many people
Who hold their lives
Inside them like seeds in a melon
They think that suppressing
The feelings they have
Will somehow bring safety to their lives

I just want to hug them
And open their minds
So they won’t be so lethargic
If they will just talk
To the Lord in their plight
They will find He can be quite cathartic

Because He has the answer
To all of our questions
He provides peace and contentment
So if you are harboring
Feelings down deep
Give Jesus a chance to be your friend

Bless the Lord

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Bless the Lord oh my soul
Bless His holy name
Bless His holy name
Come bless the Lord oh my soul

He has done great things for me
He has showed His love to me
He has given grace
For my worst mistakes
Bless the Lord oh my soul

He has given life to me
I was lost but now I’m free
When my lift goes wrong
He comes right along
Bless the Lord oh my soul

Out of my darkness
Into His light
Out from my bondage
Into His life

Bless the Lord oh my soul
Bless the Lord oh my soul
Bless His holy name
Bless His holy name
Come bless the Lord oh my soul

Those Who are Lost

Those who are Lost

I brewed me some coffee quite early today
Then went on the deck for the sunrise
The air was quite crisp as I sipped from my cup
And I watched as the light filled the skies

Above me a brood of robins appeared
They soared in majestic fashion
I watched as they headed south for to warmth
And wished I could take that vacation

As I said there I thought this world of ours
I brood over those who are lost
I decided that I must to more every day
To tell them about Jesus Christ

He came to this earth to teach us God’s ways
Then He died on a cross for our sin
He rose from the dead to give eternal life
I pray that you will accept Him

The Believers Life

Constant Change

It amazes me to this day
That we’re alarmed by climate change
God created the heavens above
He created the winds and waves

There’s a constant change going on
It’s the way it was made to be
But we acquiesce to the thought
That man can destroy God’s decree

Man also desires to dispel
The truth about Jesus Christ
That He is the only way
To procure eternal life

Our choice is plain you see
Will we listen to God or man
I for one choose my God
And always trust in His plan

Jesus Life

The Lamb That Was Slain

I entered the gate
The pearl of great price
Into the throne room of God
The elders were singing
The angels were winging
The sound of praise was alive

With Cherubim soaring
And Seraphim roaring
I fell on my knees in awe
For right there before me
In all of His glory
Was the precious Lamb of God

They sang blessing and glory
Honor and power
Unto the Lamb that was slain
Holy Holy
Lord God Almighty
Was the sound of their refrain

I joined in the chorus
With saints gone before us
‘Twas the sound of perfect praise
We lifted our hands
As the prayers of the ages
Rose before Him as sweet smelling grace

Our eyes beheld His glory
Our lips sang His praise
Our hearts leapt in worship
To the Lamb that was slain

We sang blessing and glory
Honor and power
Unto the Lamb that was slain
Holy Holy
Lord God Almighty
Was the sound of their refrain

The Believers Life

Colors Overdue

Through days and days of gentle rain the cloudy skies held close
I was wondering if the sun was hiding or if it soon would show
This morning I awoke to a clear and starry sky
And I knew the dawn was coming and the sun would then arise

The leaves were turning color but the clouds did hide their hue
This morning I would surely see their colors overdue
Nature’s plan would once again fulfill its solemn script
Winter spring summer fall never will they slip

But this plan is a minor thing compared to one I know
Where God sent His anointed Son His love to us to show
The brilliant plan was set in time so many years ago
Now we are promised more than life here on this earth below

For God sent His begotten Son that all who would believe
Would not face eternal death but live eternally
His promise is to all of those who ask Him to be Lord
I pray this plan lives in your hear and fills your longing soul

The Believers Life

Two Paths

I saw two paths before me both led a different way
Yet both looked so enticing the choice was mine to make
The first road led to pleasure in things this life could bring
I saw the people walking as funny songs they’d sing

Songs of playing games and of being insincere
Songs of being free to travel anywhere
No restriction hindered them there were no big mistakes
Fun was all they cared for this earth was their escape

The second path was harder demanding me to yield
To a greater force outside me that followed certain rules
The people walking this path seemed calm and free
They had a joy about them their peace was plain to see

The first path seemed to call me so carefree and so fun
The pleasures were everything I’d done
The second path was waiting for me to give my life
All my earthly lust would be sacrificed

Suddenly I got a glimpse at where the roads would end
My eyes were opened to the fact that this was not pretend
The choice I had to make would stamp my destiny
The roads both led to life for all eternity

The first road led to fire and horror at its worst
Once this life was over all pleasure would be lost
The second led to harmony with love that filled the air
No suffering or sadness would ever be found there

Two paths are waiting for you two paths you stand before
Pleasure for a moment or peace forevermore
These paths stretch out before you please make no mistake
The choice is up to you which road will you take

Time to Remember

It’s time to remember
What Christ has done for us
When He came down from heaven
To die upon that cross
Too often we forget
The price He paid for us
It’s time to remember
What Christ has done for us

He left His royal throne
To be a mortal man
Leaving all His majesty behind
He left the angels worship
He left His Father’s side
To come to this world and be despised

He walked on this earth
And spoke the truth in love
But leaders of the day all sought His death
Miracles and wonders
Were everywhere He went
Yet They hated Him with fury in their breath

They brought Him to trial
In the middle of the night
They broke their own laws on that fateful night
Accusing Him of blasphemy
Condemning Him to die
They had the trial until the break of light

They beat Him and mocked Him
Then another court was held
This time with more hatred than before
Pilate had Him beaten
His wounds were open wide
His blood was seen by all the watching hoard

They placed a crown of thorns
Upon His weary head
The sharp ends cut into His naked brow
Then they put a robe upon Him
And beat Him with their fists
Before Him they would mock Him as they bowed

They lead Him to Golgotha
His own cross He did bear
He struggled up the hill without a sound
They took the rugged cross
From off His blood-streaked back
And laid Him down upon it on the ground

They took the long hard spikes
And ran them through His hands
Stretched out on the cross that fateful day
They folded up His feet
Then ran a spike through them
Then they dropped the cross down in the hole they’d made

Six agonizing hours
The crowd watched all the while
The sky was darkened from the time of noon
Finally he breathed His last
But not before these words
Forgive them for they know not what they do

These words have passed through time
To every one of us
For Jesus has forgiven every sin
Take time to remember
The price He paid for us
To give each one of us true peace within

Colors of my Life

Colors of the Leaves

Wouldn’t it be wonderful if our life would show
All the lives we’ve touched while here on earth below
Perhaps we could turn colors as the leaves upon the trees
And flutter to the earth on the whims of gusty breeze

Each color could then show the kindness that we gave
One color could be loyalty another might be prayer
One color could be mercy and another may be grace
I wonder what my colors would in the end display

Would they be a vibrant mixture of every color known
Or would they just fall to the earth simply dead and brown
I pray that when the time is come for my life to be gone
The colors of my leaves will give joy to everyone
