Shall the Dead Arise?

I was dead
Wrapped up in sin
Held back by doubt
Darkness was all around me
I could not see where to go next
I could not imagine getting free
God was quiet
I wondered if He even heard my cries
I felt so alone
So far away
Like a dead man in the grave
Stinking with sin
No hope
No future
No life

Then Jesus came
Commanded the stone be rolled away
And it was
Light flooded into the room
My sin exposed
My shame announced
Blinded by the light
I covered my eyes
I could not stand before Him
The sinless Son of God
I was not worthy to even approach Him
I smelled of death
I walked like death
Sin all over me
No power
No strength
Ashamed

Then He cried out
“Come Forth”
His power stood me up
His love started my feet to moving
Still wrapped in my sin
I could not hold back
I could not stay where I was
I had to come out
Out of that grave
Out of that sin
Out of that death
Into the brightness of His glory’
His mercy
His grace

Then He said
”Unwrap Him”
The bindings of sin started to unravel
I could feel the weight slip off of me
I could feel the freedom all over me
I was free
Free
Free from sin
Free from doubt
Free from fear
No longer bound
Basking in the light of His love
Drinking of the living water
Drawing from the well
No more pain
No more suffering
No more darkness
No more shame

Then I praised Him
I thanked Him
I gave Him all the glory
Shall the dead arise?
Indeed they shall!
They shall arise to praise Him
Arise to bring Him honor
Arise by the power of His mercy
His grace
His love
Shout His praise
Shout
The victory is ours
The stone has rolled away
The bondage is all erased
I am free!

How Long?

How long will I wait for my healing?
How long will my prayers need to rise?
How long will I have to stay on my knees until your answer arrives?

How long will my finances fail me until your provision prevails?
How long will I seek for deliverance from this feeling that I have failed?

Your timing is different than mine
You will always answer in time
I may think it’s urgent
But you have a purpose
For stretching my patience each time

How long will the enemy chase me before you will cast him away?
How long will I wander in darkness before your light shows the way?

Your timing is different than mine

Yet when I ask for mercy, it is here
When I ask for forgiveness, it is here
When I ask for your grace, it is here
And when I ask for your love, it is always neat.

So, when your timing is different than mine
I’ll rejoice for your answer on time
I’ll rejoice that you love me
I’ll rejoice for your mercy
Ill rejoice that you’ve given me patience
I’ll rejoice that you’ve given me grace
I’ll rejoice that your answer will come
When it fits into your perfect plan.

God made me     me
He made me what He wants me to be

His Masterpiece

Murray made a model out of clay one day
He molded it and fashioned it and put it on display
Buit then he found a flaw in the model he had made
So he flattened out the model and restarted with the clay

The second time the model became a lovely vase
He hardened it with fire and put it on display
But when he put some water into that little vase
It leaked and all the water was all over the place

He broke it once again, and flattened out the clay
He carefully and thoughtfully remolded that vase
His hands did the work, his feet set the pace
Once done he once again out that vase out on display

The potter is the master, the clay is his friend
His feet work the wheel round and round, and round again
His hands form the clay into his final plan
Then he puts it on display and his work is at an end

I am but a piece of clay. I am uniquely made
The potter is my God above, and I’m a simple vase
He fashions me once, and then He’ll see a little crack
Then He lovingly will break me down and shape me back again

I am His masterpiece. I am His creation
I am like a child of His, made to reach the nations
He is the master, and He does all that He can
To mold me and shape me into His perfect plan.

When He sees a flaw
When He sees a leak
When He sees that I still need a gentle little tweak
He will break me down and start the wheel again
With love He forms me over ‘til I meet His perfect plan

His feet work the wheel
His hands form the clay
His feet make the wheel; go round and round again
He’s feet always working, His hands always forming
Not stopping for a moment just to keep me growing
He lovingly and patiently, with care and tender grace
Will take this lump of clay and make a lovely vase
I am His lovely vase
Made with grace
