True Worship

Sometimes Hallelujah does it

Sometimes Praise the Lord

But I find worship not just words

It takes in so much more

 

Jesus said to feed the poor

And help all those in need

This command is just as strong

As praying on our knees

 

He asked us His grace to show

To all we see each day

Yet often when that grace should show

We turn and walk away

 

Jesus said forgive them all

Our enemies and friends

But we hold grudges endlessly

And waste in bitterness

 

When will we learn that kind and gentle

Is our Savors hope?

When will we learn our highest aim

Is the lowest road?

 

When will we learn humility

Is His wish for us?

When will we learn His Spirit’s voice

And in Him put our trust?

 

So come on church lets rise and sing

With voices raised up high

And let’s be servants every time

A need should come on by

Favor Undeserved

You deserve the glory
You deserve the honor
You deserve highest praise
You deserve my worship
You deserve my reverence
I will worship your sweet name
All the mercy you give
Freely into me, Lord
I do not deserve your love
Mercy that does pardon
All of my transgression
Mercy from your throne above
Then you pour your grace out
Favor undeserved, Lord
Freely you bestow your gifts
I can’t begin to measure
The blessings your grace brings me
Every day they help me live
Finally your love comes
Overwhelms my spirit
That you’d love a wretch like me
I am, oh, so thankful
You would look on me Lord
To wash away my sin and set me free
And soon you will came back
To take me home with thee
And I will praise your name
Through all eternity
You deserve the glory
You deserve the honor
You deserve highest praise
You deserve my worship
You deserve my reverence
I will worship your sweet name

No More Struggling

Struggle  Written in response to the Daily Prompt

I used to blame God for my hardships

It seems He was out to get me

I wandered in drugs and  some drinking

And thought He’d abandoned me

 

But one day I turned toward His mercy

And I asked Him to enter my life

I can still remember His answer to me

As He walked in and opened my eyes

 

He said my struggle was not against Him

But against my own sinful heart

But now that I had Him walking with me

The path would not be so hard

 

He said He’d walk with me every day

And help me with anything hard

So I smiled and I took hold  of His hand

And my struggles all seemed to depart

 

Closer

I want to be closer.  Closer to your side

I want to be nearer.  Never let me hide

I want to be purer.  As I walk through life

I want to be yours.  In you I will abide

 

There is never a time you will leave my side

But I may wander away

When I do I can rest assured you abide

In my heart each and every day

 

You promised you’ll never leave or forsake me

Even if I should mess up

When I find myself far from where I should be

You come and fill my cup

 

When I cannot hide from the trials I face

I just want to walk away

But you come and guide me to a peaceful place

Where I can bow and pray

 

These are the reasons I trust in you

Every promise I know is true

You will be with me my whole life through

Jesus, my Lord

Sometimes my understanding

Is with knowledge and with words

Ignorance is banished

My mind is now renewed

But only when I’m understanding

The wisdom of the Lord

Can I truly have the wisdom that I  need

For understanding God

Is to stand under His shadow

And be infused with His knowledge

Which leads to all understanding

So ‘ll be Under Standing God

And walk in all His mercy

And the wisdom He imparts

Will light my way.

I saw the Lord
Seated on the throne
All the earth He owns
He Reigns
I heard His voice
Echoing through time
Every word divine
He Reigns
He spoke to me
Words of life and grace
I lift up my praise
He Reigns
He heard my cry
Answered every prayer
He is always there
He Reigns
He healed my pain
By His sacrifice
He gave me new life
He Reigns
He rose again
From death He is alive
To give eternal life
He Reigns
He will return
To call His children home
And make us all His own
He Reigns
I will sing with highest praise
Jesus is His mighty name
All the earth sings out His praise
He Reigns
Jesus who has set us free
Jesus who brings victory
Jesus who always loves me
He Reigns

I praise  You for the bird that sings

I praise 3You for the rain in spring

I praise You for the bells that ring

I praise you, Lord, for everything

 

I praise You for the morning light

I praise You for the stars at night

I praise You for the sun so bright

I praise you, Lord, you are the Light

 

I praise You for each blessed day

I praise You for he hears me pray

I praise You for each word He says

I praise you, Lord, you are the way

 

I praise you for your sacrifice

I praise you for you bled and died

I praise you for from death you rise

I praise you, Lord, you are my Life

 

I praise you for each blessing shown

I praise you for your grace bestowed

I praise you for the fruit you’ve grown

I praise you Lord, It’s me you own

 

From dead of night

To full daylight

I’ll praise you, Lord

With all my might

With every breath

I take each day

My lips are filled

With His sweet praise

Wonderful Jesus
Lord of my heart
You rescued me
Out of the dark
You gave your life
So that I could be free
When you died sinless
On Calvary’s tree
Bought my salvation
A debt that I owed
Your love has paid
So I could have hope
Rose from the grave
Up to heavens door
Where I will dwell
Forever more
Wonderful Jesus
Lord of my heart
I know that you
Will never depart
You promised me
You’d stay by my side
From this very day
‘Til the day that I die
Then when I rise
To my heavenly home
I’ll spend eternity

What A Change

I was sure

No one could hear my cry

No one could feel my hurt

No one could truly love me

 

Then I found

Jesus would hear my prayer

Jesus would heal my pain

Jesus would always love me

 

I knelt down

And prayed through in tears

And prayed for His peace

And prayed He would save me

 

He came in

And filled up my soul

And filled me with joy

And filled the void in my heart

 

Now I know

His love has no end

His love is by grace

His love shows His mercy

 

What a change He brought

To my longing heart

What a Savior He is to me

Because He has set me free

 

He’s all that I ever sought

To fill up my poor dead heart

And He’ll do the same for you

If you’ll only ask Him to

I once was a sinner
Deep in shame
I did not even
Like my name
I wandered lost
Through my life
Not caring if
I lived or died
Faith was not known
Hope was a dream
Love was so shallow
My heart just screamed
But then some words
A friend spoke to me
Led me to Jesus
And He saved me
Now I’m a sinner
Saved by grace
Hope is alive
I will see His face
Faith in my Savior
Accepts His love
Mercy from heaven
Grace from above
Who I am Now
Is saved by His grace
Washed in His blood
Awed by His face
Filled with His Spirit
Calmed by His peace
Thrilled by His joy
Faith is released
Who I am now
Is healed by His stripes
Delivered from death
Filled with new life
Bathed in His promise
Eternally His
Headed to heaven
Forever with Him
I will forever
At His feet bow
For He is the Lord
Of who I am now
