A Simple Life

Written in response to the prompt from the daily caller

Life often gets  complicated

The time just slips on by.

With work, family and social things

I wish I could sometimes fly

 

I am often off running in circle

To get where I need to be

It’s not that I think it’s annoying

It’s just that I can’t schedule me

 

My Lord says to be a like a child

To live in simplicity

They don’t have a plan book or schedule

They just live by faith in mercy

 

Lord, help me to be like thia child

Who totally trusts in your love

Let me live a life that’s simple

Not complicated with stuff

 

 

His Matchless Name

Save me Lord and I will be saved

Heal me Lord, and I will be healed

For you are my Savior, refuge and strength

There is nothing too hard for thee

 

Deliver me Lord, and I will be free

Redeem me Lord, and my debt will be paid

For you are my rock and my hiding place

In you I will always be safe

 

Lift me up Lord, and I will have joy

Ease my sorrow Lord, and I will I have peace

For you give me hope for the future

And you’ll walk with me eternally

 

How can I ignore your mercy?

It is right with me every day

How can I not see your grace?

It protects me all the way.

 

So I will lift my voice in song

I will lift the highest praise

You alone are worthy Lord

Jesus is the only name

 

That name brings healing at its sound

Salvation lives in Jesus name

Deliverance comes where He abounds

Redemption from his name proclaimed

 

Joy and Peace come when I praise

The mighty mention of His name

My hope is resting as I say

His wonderful and matchless name

 

The name I say is Jesus

The loveliest of names

Jesus, Jesus, Jesus

He is all my praise

Bought my salvation

What A Change

I was sure

No one could hear my cry

No one could feel my hurt

No one could truly love me

 

Then I found

Jesus would hear my prayer

Jesus would heal my pain

Jesus would always love me

 

I knelt down

And prayed through in tears

And prayed for His peace

And prayed He would save me

 

He came in

And filled up my soul

And filled me with joy

And filled the void in my heart

 

Now I know

His love has no end

His love is by grace

His love shows His mercy

 

What a change He brought

To my longing heart

What a Savior He is to me

Because He has set me free

 

He’s all that I ever sought

To fill up my poor dead heart

And He’ll do the same for you

If you’ll only ask Him to

I once was a sinner
Deep in shame
I did not even
Like my name
I wandered lost
Through my life
Not caring if
I lived or died
Faith was not known
Hope was a dream
Love was so shallow
My heart just screamed
But then some words
A friend spoke to me
Led me to Jesus
And He saved me
Now I’m a sinner
Saved by grace
Hope is alive
I will see His face
Faith in my Savior
Accepts His love
Mercy from heaven
Grace from above
Who I am Now
Is saved by His grace
Washed in His blood
Awed by His face
Filled with His Spirit
Calmed by His peace
Thrilled by His joy
Faith is released
Who I am now
Is healed by His stripes
Delivered from death
Filled with new life
Bathed in His promise
Eternally His
Headed to heaven
Forever with Him
I will forever
At His feet bow
For He is the Lord
Of who I am now

I can have joy in the valley
I know that’s where I grow
But when I would see God’s glory
It’s up the mountain I’ll go
The view I can see from the valley
Limits just what I can see
But when I go up to the mountain
The view shows His majesty
I’d rather be up on the mountain
Because up just feels better to me
But when I am down, i can only go up
So the valley’s a good place to be.

Not yesterday
Today is the day
To praise the Lord
Today is the day
Not next week
Not last week
Today is the day
To worship Him
He is the one
Who gives us the present
He is the one
Who gives breath every day
He is the one
Who gives rythm to heart beats
Only my God
Can show me the way
Today is a present
All wrapped up in hope
His peace calms my spirit
His joy overflows
This wonderful present
Is mine for the asking
It comes every moment
From Jesus my King
He is the one
That showers with mercy
He is the one
Whose love reigns divine
He is the one
Who gives grace amazing
Only my God
Will always be mine
Today is the day
Today is the present
Today is my gift
From Jesus my Lord
Today I will praise Him
Today I will worship
Today is my chance
To give thanks to my Lord.

I didn’t know how much He loved me
Didn’t know how much He cared
When I used to curse and mock His name
I didn’t realize His passion
To fellowship with me
I just would not take the time to change
Then I heard the ancient story
Of a King who came to die
And I bowed down on my knees and cried
Now I know
