Hallelujah, Jesus Reigns

There’s a song in my heart
And it’s easy to sing
It’s a love song to Jesus
His praises I bring
Won’t you sing along
And give praise to the King
I’d love you to sing with me

Hallelujah, Jesus reigns
He is worthy of my praise
I will lift His Mighty name
Hallelujah, Jesus reigns

Now if you missed it
The first-time through
I’ll tell you what
I’m going to do
I’ll sing it again
Just for you
And hope you will sing along

Hallelujah, Jesus reigns
He is worthy of my praise
I will lift His Mighty name
Hallelujah, Jesus reigns

That’s all there is
To this simple song
I am so glad
That you sang along
Please take it with you
And sing it to God
Whenever you have the chance

Hallelujah, Jesus reigns
He is worthy of my praise
I will lift His Mighty name
Hallelujah, Jesus reigns

And if you should
Forget the tune
Just make up your own
That wouldn’t be rude
Just lift up your voice
And sing it real soon
So the melody’s fresh in your mind

Hallelujah, Jesus reigns
He is worthy of my praise
I will lift His Mighty name
Hallelujah, Jesus reigns

Today is The Word!

The word that comes forth
From  my  mouth way to much
Is someday
I use this word often
To answer when I need to change
I need to be better at prayer
And doing devotions
But every time I try to
Make a change I put it off

So I have decided
That someday needs to be
Today
I’m tired of my old routine
So I’m changing it now
I’ll get out my prayer list
When I awake in the morning
Then take time in the word
So I can draw closer to Him

No more someday for this guy
Someday has just bit the dust
Someday is gone from my word choice
Today is the word that I’ll trust

Prayer Time

I cried out to Jesus this morning
Lord please hear my humble prayer
I come to you seeking your mercy
For so many friends out there

One of my friends needs your guidance
About things going on in his life
I ask you to give this friend wisdom
To deal with this mountain of strife

Two friends need help with a new job
That came as an answer to prayers
These next few weeks they’ll be learning
Help them listen and learn as they train

I know that you hear my prayer
And I know that an answer will come
I trust in your perfect timing
I will pray they’ll have strength all along

Still others need your touch to heal them
From cancer, or aches, or disease
I ask that your mercy surround them
As I pray to you down on my knees

There’s a friend who has asked me to pray
For protection in foreign lands
I make my request to you Lord
To keep them all safe in your hands

I close out my prayer time this morning
By lifting my voice in praise
My spirit is lost in your worship
I lift up your holy name

I thank you for listening to me
And the prayers that I send your way
Take care of my friends this morning
And give them your mercy today.

Deep In Praise

When all is said and done
And the daytime light is gone
I will lift to God my song
Of praise

And when the stars do shine
And nighttime moon aligns
I will know it is the time
To praise

For within each passing moment
There’s a time to worship Him
With each breath I’m reminded of His love
So I’ll lift my praise to Jesus
And I’ll lift my hands to Him
He just showers down His blessings from above

Now when the morning light
Brings daytime from the night
I’ll know it’s only right
To praise

The birds all start to sing
And then they take to wing
The sun their following
To praise

If all creation knows
It’s time to praise the Lord
Then why should I do anything that’s less
I’ll lift my voice up high
So all can hear me sing
Because I want to give my very best

And then the day has passed
I’ll settle down at last
As I run out of gas
I’ll praise

I’ll settle down too sleep
My soul I know He’ll keep
Because I lived so deep
In praise

Why Am I So Surprised?

Why am I so surprised
When healing starts to come
My feet are feeling better
My toes are much less numb
I can feel floor beneath mike
And it feels like solid ground
I’m amazed it’s feeling better
Than it has for many months

Why am I so surprised
When peace comes in the storm
I can’t explain the reason
That I feel no alarm
The waves and wind are higher
And the feeling is not warm
Yet I am sitting calmly
In the center of this storm

His promises come calling
At every time of day
And when we least expect it
They come and overtake
Our healing our deliverance
Our peace and joy and hope
Are all just waiting for us
To take us by surprise

Why am I so surprised
When joy just bubbles forth
I just was lost in sorrow
And was feeling deep remorse
Then an overwhelming feeling
Of unexpected joy
Came up from deep within me
And made my heart rejoice

I shouldn’t be surprised
That His promise comes to pass
But I am
I shouldn’t be surprised
When He answers all my prayers
But I am
His promises are true
His mercy has no end
His grace is so amazing
His love is not pretend

His promises come calling
At every time of day
And when we least expect it
They come and overtake
Our healing our deliverance
Our peace and joy and hope
Are all just waiting for us
To take us by surprise

Fallen Tribe

It’s really quite ridiculous
That sometimes I give in
To what my flesh desires
And I let the devil win

The fight is so uneven
With God right by my side
The power of the universe
Against a fallen tribe

I really need to walk with God
Throughout all of my days
He will keep me going right
By His amazing grace

I Bow At Your Feet

I bow at your feet

My Lord and my Savor
You make me complete
You give me your favor
There’s never a day
That I can’t depend
On your mercy and grace
To carry me through

There are days that I wander
Away from you Lord
My path just meanders
To places unknown
Yet you search me out
And you bring me back home
So then once again
I can rest in your arms

You love me so much
Every day of my life
I don’t deserve such
A love so divine
You keep bringing me back
When my path goes astray
Your grace comes a calling
To show e the way

So, I bow at your feet
My Savior and Lord
You always pursue me
With your loving heart
There’s never a day
That I can’t depend
On your mercy and grace
To carry me through
