Chosen Star

I look up at the stars

And I see the Master’s plan

He placed them one by one

Before our time began

All down through the ages

Those stars have shown their light

Always in formation

To guide us in the night

Then one night, change was seen

One star was singled out

To shine much brighter than the rest

A loud celestial shout

Oh brightest star, Oh chosen star

You shine your glorious light

To lead us all to Christ the King

On this most Holy night

This star then found its special place

To shine those brighter rays

It took its place above a town

Where God’s own Son was laid

Three kings had seen the star so bright

From lands so far away

They came to bring gifts to the child

In a manger filled with hay

Gold, because He’s royalty

As priest, the Frankincense

Myrrh, anointing for His death

Which would be so intense

On brightest star, Oh chosen star

You shine your glorious light

To lead us all to Christ the King

On this most Holy night

Millennials in The Workplace

This is well worth your time to watch (15 minutes). What he has to say is crucial for those of us in the older generation to understand/ Somethings even made me take a hard look at myself. Please take the time !

People today are constantly trying to figure out this elusive group.  Here is a great video on Millennials in the workplace.

Avoid Angry Bees

If I saw a fire approaching me

Or a sand storm with dust the eye could see

Or even a swarm of angry bees

I’d flee

If a lion was running toward me

Or a tornado that I could see

Or another swarm of angry bees

I’d flee

So how is it then that I don’t see

The danger that sin does have in me

If I knew the fate that awaited me

I’d flee

I’d flee to the Savior who died for me

Gave His life so I’d be free

Then gave me life Eternally

Jesus Christ, my Lord

The Great Payment

Have you ever thought it strange

That a baby in a manger

Would be the one who came to set men free

And have you ever stopped to think

About the fact that Heaven’s King

Left His throne to come and die for you and me

You may think it’s fable

He was born in lowly stable

But the story has withstood the test of time

And I thought that you should know

Why I’ve come to love Him so

For I want you to know this Lord of Life

You see, He changed my life

When I came to Him that time

That my life was spinning out of control

He forgave all of my sin

And He put His spirit in

Now He walks with me wherever I may go

Because this baby in the manger

Was no ordinary stranger

But the Son of God who came to earth that day

He shared the Father’s love

And brought healing from above

And He said He was the truth the life the way

His teaching brought division

Put the leaders in derision

They decided that He must be put to death

So they shouted crucify Him

On a cross they railed against Him

And He gave His life in one last gasp of breath

The final price was paid

For the sin of human race

And now we are set free forevermore

And it all began that day

In a stable filled with hay

And a baby who the blessed Mary bore.

This Christmas don’t forget

The great payment for our debt

That was made by that baby in the hay

He was born to die for me

And to set the captive free

Let us celebrate His birth this Christmas day

Celebrate Him

Some trust in gazing

At stars in the sky

Thinking their future is told

Some trust in cards

That are turned one by one

Their story they hope to behold

But now it is Christmas

And many there be

Who wonder if it’s just not cynical

To have such a frenzy

About gifts and food

Around something that seems so mystical

A baby was born

So long ago

And He is our reason for joy

He came to redeem

All of mankind

From the curse of sin here below

So please don’t be fooled

By the gifts and the food

Those things are second to Him

He came to save

We give Him our praise

This Christmas, let’s celebrate Him

What Can I Do But Pray

When a distant friend is down with pain

And his family doesn’t care, again

There is no one close

Who can lend a hand

What can I do but pray?

When I hear of someone who’s been hurt bad

From an accident that they’ve just had

There too far away

For me to be there

What can I do but pray?

When a trial or test is taking its toll

And there’s no one else that they have told

It is mine to bear

For the burden’s large

What can I do but pray?

I can send a card with a message bright

I can give an encouraging word each day

I can keep upbeat when we talk at night

That’s what I can do while I pray

When a friend is in the hospital room

And I just can’t get there to see them soon

They won’t be there long

They’ll be out of touch

What can I do but pray?

When a death has come to a family

And I know that they’re not real close to me

The funeral is soon

But I’m out of town

What can I do but pray?

I can bring some food to their house for them

I can offer to clean or to lend a hand

I can give them rides or run errands

That’s what I can do while I pray

It’s the Golden rule that we must obey

Do unto others is the good Lord’s way

That when I want to do more than pray

I can think about what I would need

And then when the time has come for aid

I can give of my time and give of my day

And then when I have done all I can

I can rest peacefully and pray.

The Reason

Shoppers are shopping

Mailmen are walking

Delivering gifts bought on line

Trees all are glimmering

Houses are shimmering

Lights hung to cheer us in time

Carols are ringing

Sleigh Bells are jingling

Songs of the season are here

Bright lights are glowing

Egg nog is flowing

All midst the words of good cheer

We all are running

From each day’s beginning

To celebrate Christmas each year

But how about stopping

Take time from shopping

And realize the reason where here

The star was a’shining

The cattle were lowing

When Mary gave birth to a son

Shepherds were praising

Sheep were there grazing

A Savior for all had now come

He went ‘round teaching

And gave many healing

His words filled the hearer with life

But leaders were seething

And they started pleading

To have Jesus crucified

He went through the suff’ring

And became the off’ring

For all of the sins of mankind

The grave not confining

He came out a’rising

Defeating death for all of time

This is the reason

For Christmas season

Let’s not forget why we sing

For this is God’s son

Who became the one

To save all of us from ours sin

So, I will sing praise

To His wonderful name

I will lift up my voice to the King

He’s always the same

And His love will remain

He has given to us everything

Forever Mine

Life has it’s little ups and downs

As we go about our day

And often in our travels

We seem to lose our way

It’s nice to know that there’s a place

Where we come home to hide

From all the troubles that we face

A place where we abide

That place for me is Jesus

He is my hope secure

Whenever I need comfort

He’s there I can be sure

He said He’d never leave me

Or forsake me for all time

So I will rest in Him alone

He’ll be forever mine

In response to the daily prompt Abide

Fulfilled Heart

The drugs I was abusing

The booze that I was drinking

The girls that I was kissing

Did not fill my spirit from the start

The money I was making

The laughter I was faking

But something still was missing

That would satisfy my longing heart

Then He came and saved me

Jesus Christ gave me His mercy

From my past sins I was set free

And I got a barnd new start

Now my life is filled with love

That was sent down from above

And joy and peace enough

To fulfill my grateful heart
