Sweet Words

I am constantly reminded of my failures
By the enemy that lurks inside my mind
Hew takes every opportunity to mock me
And to make me feel I’ve really missed the mark

It’s so easy to give ear to what he’s saying
For I always seem to think that I fall short
But if I listen closely there’s another voice
Speaking words that cause me peace and joy

Sweet words of Jesus
Words of life
Words that bring healing
Words that end strife
Sweet words of wonder
Words of grace
Words that uplift me
To a higher plane

Now I choose to shut out the enemy
Who would fill my mind with fear and doubt
I will listen to the words of my Savior
In the midst of my trials He’ll bring me out

Sweet words of mercy
Words of faith
Words that deliver
Words that save
Sweet words of His love
Spoken in my ear
Words that bring life
To all who hear

Open up His word
Listen everyday
There is so much
He has to say
Sweet words of Jesus
Spoken to you
Follow His word
In all you do

When the sky is getting darker all around you
When the clouds above begin to churn

Don’t worry and don’t fret
The Lord is coming yet
He will turn the skies to bright sunshine
Just open up your ears
Soon you’ll begin to cheer
As you hear the Lord speak words of life

I can depend on you
When all the world does not know truth
I can point to you
I can trust in you
You will never fail me
Or forsake me
Your truth is a testament I can rely on
Your promises are true
Your warnings are true
Your judgments are true
Your prophecies are true
I never have to wonder
Or doubt
Or question
Because they were true
They are true
And they always will be true
When I struggle
When I have trials
When I have worries
Or sorrows
Your truth will revive me
Your truth will pull me out
When I question my way
Your truth will show me the way
When I am without good health
Your truth says You are my healer
When I fall into a dark place
Your truth says you are my deliverer
When the enemy comes in like a flood
You will raise up a standard against him
That standard is your truth
I never have to live in fear
Or wonder if I will make it through
For you are my truth

When trials take over

And they fill you with doubt

Sulking in a corner
Downstairs in my room
Thoughts of taking my life
All is doom and gloom
I can’t see a future
When I see my past
Why don’t I just end it
This misery will last

Isolated
All alone
The enemy attacks here
Going crazy
Hope is gone
Why am I in such fear

I search my inner being
I find a ray of hope
There’s something deep inside me
That rises like a smoke
It fills my mind with wonder
Then I can sense a joy
The Holy Spirit rises up
His peace I now employ

I won’t get isolated
I won’t go off alone
I won’t look at my past
That robs me of my hope
I’ll look to the future
Where God has plans for me
And in His loving arms
I will always be

Don’t get isolated
Don’t crawl inside your head
Allow the Holy Spirit
To bring joy instead
He is waiting for you
To summon Him today
Rise up from that depression
For God will show the way
