Misunderstood

Some people will believe a lie instead of seeking truth
Some people will tell gossip tales that end up harming you
Some people drink their alcohol each night so they feel good
Some people do their harmful drugs and stay misunderstood

Some people think it’s quite alright to swear in Jesus name
Some people think that causing pain is all just fun and games
Some people cannot say a word unless they swear and curse
Some people will refuse to listen and their life just gets worse

None of this is natural
It’s not what we’re made for
This world has got it all wrong
When His word they do ignore
We were made to walk with Him
In the garden He prepared
So put aside your wicked ways
And praise His name instead

A Sanctuary

I awoke this Monday morning
Looking forward to the day
I rose to greet the sunrise
As it lightened up the gray
I ate a bit of breakfast
With coffee on the tray
Then I walked out of my house
And I began to say

Thank you, Lord for giving me
Your mercy on this day
Thank you Lord, for your sweet grace
Which blesses me always
Thank you Lord for peace of mind
Provided by your grace
Thank you for the joy you give
And hope that always stays

Thank you Lord for this creation
Beautiful and wise
Thank you Lord for singing birds
Filling up the skies
Thank you Lord for flowers and trees
Colors for my eyes
Thank you Lord for loving me
And helping me through trials

As I finished my short song
Of praise unto my King
I thanked Him once again
For providing everything
And in that moment I could feel
The Spirit praises bring
My porch became a santcuary
For the King of Kings

The eLifve

The Lab of Life

I used to love the science room where we could have real fun
Mixing up those chemicals could bring up things that stunk
I also like the movies that scared us half to death
Frankenstein was one of them I think he was on meth

Our laboratory fun was a place of learning much
But most of us grow older leaving lab work in the dust
Yet if we really seek the truth the lab of life still runs
We are an experiment until we think we’re done

I know in my daily walk with Jesus Christ my Lord
The tests and trials that will come are things I can’t ignore
For each is there to help me grow and become all I can be
I just want to be the clay while God is making me

Without Apps

Email is so nifty
It gets there very quick
Messenger is just as fun
And WhatsApp is real slick
Instagram exposes you
Pinterest your likes
The phone is always handy
A letter finds a smile

All these different ways
To touch each other’s lives
Yet all of them are lacking
In portraying what’s inside
Today’s communication
Lacks time for face-to-face
To see their true expression
To hear a voice that’s raised

Let’s try to put aside
Our gadgets and our apps
To walk up to our neighbor
And share a heartfelt chat
Perhaps then love will win out
Over all the ugly ways
That have captured so much news
In too many of our days

The One

I think of all the things that God has done

Through Jesus Christ His one an only Son

Ìn awe I stand Amazed

At the wonder of His ways

I read His word and know that He’s the one

The one who saved my soul

The one who ser me free

The one who rose for me

Ths one who made me whole

The one who took my sin

The one who dwells within

The one who healed my pain

The one whose peace I gained

The one who guides my day

The one who makes a way

The one who holds my hand

The one who has a plan

The one who answers prayer

The one whose always there

Now I sing hallelujah to the Lamb

Glory, glory, glory to the great I am

Ali lift up all my praise

To honor His sweet name

Jesus Christ whosw honor I proclaim

Our Salvation

White as Snow

We used to build big snowmen
When young and full of fun
Our imaginations were on fire
We rolled the balls real big
And set them one by one
We always wanted to go so mush higher

Abominable was not our aim
With this massive man of snow
We hoped that it would be a work of art
We did all that we could
To make it look real good
Carrot, buttons, scarf and a top hat

If your really want that something
That defines unpleasantness
Something much worse than gruesome men of snow
Then simply turn your back
To the mercy Jesus shows
When life is over pain is all you’ll know

Right now it’s not too late
To avoid hell’s horrid fire
And a future so abominable
Just give your heart to Jesus
Ask forgiveness for your sins
He’ll make your heart as white as snow

Our Salvation

Your Grace Abounds

Through deepest valleys and darkest days
Through all my trials and through my pain
Through every storm and all my fears
Your grace abounds to me

Through days of sorrow and sleepless nights
Through shattered hopes and tears of plight
Through times alone when my peace is gone
Your grace abounds to me

Your grace abounds to me
It fills my every need
When troubles come
Your grace has won
Giving me victory

Your grace abounds to me
Open my eyes to see
In my despair
You are still there
Your grace abounds to me

Through every heartache and every tear
Through every putdown that I might hear
Through deep depression when I am down
Your grace abounds to me

And when my trials seem more than I can bear
I know your grace will always find me here
If I just keep a watchful eye
You’ll satisfy every time

Your grace abounds to me
It fills my every need
When troubles come
Your grace has won
Giving me victory

Your grace abounds to me
Open my eyes to see
In my despair
You are still there
Your grace abounds to me

Every Cry

There was a day when I was young
So many years ago
My wife would bear three children
Before I was to old
Before the time did come for birth
They said we should expect
A child would come no doubt to us
Their cry we would protect

Today I have a different task.
To pray for those in need
The word of God said pray in faith
Expect results to be
Help me have that faith dear Lord
My expectations high
That you will answer every prayer
And hear my every cry

In response to the daily prompt Expect

Two Things

There’s only two things you must know
To be all you can be
Thing one is His great mercy
Thing two is grace that’s free

Mercy reached out to touch our lives
When Jesus came from above
Took the form of a baby
Because of His great love

Mercy was with Him every day
As He healed all that would come
Taught the ways of the Kingdom
Truly was God’s Son

Mercy then took Him to the cross
Where He bled and died for me
Mercy rose Him up from the grave
So I’d live eternally

The greatest show of mercy
The world has ever seen
Is something I must know deep down
Because it was done for me

Grace has supplied my every need
From the moment I was born
From the fresh air that I breath each day
To the sunrise every morn

Grace followed us as we grew in years
For it truly gave us life
Each trial that we faced has passed
And grace helped us survive

Grace gave the greatest gift of all
When we asked the Savior in
By grace are you saved through faith my friend
It is grace that makes you win

This grace that’s so amazing
Grace always blesses me
He gives it freely to us
Supplying ever need

When you are looking out ahead
At what your life may bring
Make sure that grace and mercy
Are the most important things

National Pride

Restore our Nation

In years gone by I hung around the bar ’til late at night
We’d drink our beer and hard stuff until the mood was right
Then we’d drive around the countryside until the morning light
Not caring about anything at all

But those days have been replaced by my faith in Jesus Christ
Now I linger at the altar as I seek His guiding light
My soul seeks His assurance when I go to sleep at night
My desire is to heed His sacred call

Put aside your earthly habits to come and join the fight
To restore our nations heart and set it’s morals right
Seek the Lord and all His wisdom so that all will see the light
Before our nation suffers from a fall
