My Heavenly Father

I once had a Father on earth

Who I barely knew at all

He left us when I was young

And He hardly ever called

 

We would get a gift at Christmas

And a visit here and there

But through time I grew bitter

And didn’t even care.

 

The anger inside grew mighty

As I reached my teenage years

I got into things angered my mom

And had her often in tears

 

I could not find my way through life

I struggled just to survive

The time had to come to turn around

Or I might take my life

 

Then a friend from a long time ago

Came and told me a story I knew

But He told it in such a different way

I listened and heard the truth

 

I have a heavenly Father

Who loves me very much

A heavenly Father up above

Who came my heart to touch

 

He gave His own son

To die in my place

And covered my sin

With amazing grace

 

His mercy is greater

Than all my shame

He’ll live in my heart

And call me by name

 

And one day he’ll come

And take me home

To a life everlasting

Around His throne

 

I love my heavenly Father

He takes care of all my needs

My heavenly Father

He’ll always be there for me

Today the Lord had mercy on me
He kept away the enemy
And reminded me that I’m set free

Today the Lord has blessed me much
All day I felt His spirits touch
His presence was around so much
Again
Today His grace filled me with peace
He gave my soul a sweet release
All day I felt calm and at ease
Again
Again and again He’s there for me
He always meets me at me need
He listens to my prayerful pleas
Again, and again, and again
Today He flooded me with love
As vast as all the stars above
And I can know that it will come
Again
Again His mercy will be mine
Again His blessing He’ll assign
Again He’ll give me grace each time
Again
But high above all these great things
The greatest gift that He does bring
Is His great love, of that I’ll sing

I lift my praise to you

In all I say and do

I lift my arms to you

I long to worship you

For you alone are worthy of my praise

 

You give me breath each day

You tell he sun to raise

You put me on my feet

Your flowers smell so sweet

You keep me from the flood

You always fill my cup

You’ll never leave my side

From you I cannot hide

 

So I will worship you

In everything I do

I’ll give you all my praise

And lift your holy name

I will give my all

To glorify you Lord

You the only one

whom I will adore

 

You fill me with your peace

It sets my mind at ease

You flood me with your joy­­

It makes me want to soar

The hope you give to me

Just makes me want to breath

And your love tops it all

The greatest love of all

 

I praise you for the love

You give me from above

I don’t deserve your grace

You give it anyway

Your mercy flows so free

For all eternity

So I will always praise

Your mighty name

Can you see the beauty of creation  all around you

Flowers blooming in the springtime

Leaves falling in the fall

Do you stop and look at stars up above you

Or the way the sun keeps time

Or the way the stars can fall?

 

Does it ever occur to you

That there’s an order to it all

That cannot be just circumstance

The course of nature’s due

To one celestial call

It is not a matter of just chance

 

So the next time someone says

A bang is what explains

The start of this great universe we love

 

I’d ask you to take days

To speak to them real plan

And tell them of our precious God above

Now I Know

I didn’t know how much He loved me
Didn’t know how much He cared
When I used to curse and mock His name
I didn’t realize His passion
To fellowship with me
I just would not take the time to change
Then I heard the ancient story
Of a King who came to die
And I bowed down on my knees and cried
Now I know
You love me so
You gave your life
So I could thrive
I’m aware
How much you care
I give my all
To heed your call
Now I know
If you just cannot see His mercy
‘Cause your life is such a mess
Let me tell you I have felt the same way
I was living in a frenzy
I was lost in misery
And I didn’t understand His grace
But one day He whispered softly
My son, I love you so
If you listen He will call to you

I gave my life
So you could thrive
Be aware
How much I care
Give your all
To heed my call
Don’t you know
It doesn’t take a genius
To see His great love
It only takes a moment
To open up your heart

My Father

I have a Father
Who loves me so much
He blesses me all of my days
Daily He listens
To hear every prayer
And leads me in all if His ways
When I am weary
I ask Him for strength
And He sends the spirit of life
When I am sick
I pray He will heal
And He gives me patience to fight
Oh, what a wonderful Father
Mercy and Grace are His ways
I know He will love me forever
So I’ll worship Him all of my dayslov
When I have trouble
I ask Him for help
And He sends me peace in the storm
When I am lonely
I call out His name
And He holds me safe in His arms

Mercy Is All

There are so many times
I know in my heart
His mercy is all that I need
From the most desperate days
To the oft sleepless nights
He mercy will cover me
When I’m sick in my bed
And a daze fills my head
His mercy is all that I need
Because no matter how long
It takes healing to come
His mercy will cover me
Oh mercy of God
So large and so free
There is none that can compare
To the marvelous trust
I can have in your love
Because your mercy is always there.
When I feel down and out
And I just want to shout
His mercy is all that I need
Because I know that He
Is right there with me
His mercy will cover me
When the enemies strong
And I don’t have a song
His mercy is all that I need
He’ll raise up His hand
And help me to stand

I’ll trust in the Lord

I’ll acknowledge Him

I want to be with you, Lord
To dance around your throne
To praise your name forever
To make heaven my home

To walk the streets of gold
To see those gone before me
To no more getting old
Yes, heaven will be wonderful
A lovely place to stay
But I won’t wait for heaven
To walk with you each day
Because you said you’re with me
And will never leave my side
I choose to walk with you, Lord
While I on earth abide

To weather every storm
To see me through my trials
To keep me from all harm

To guide me day by day
To teach me by your Spirit

I’ll pass through heavens gates
So if you want a heav’nly home
Then make this your daily chore
Walk with Jesus here on earth

Closer

Each passing moment
Brings me closer to you
Whether through trial
Or whether I’m blue
Because every time
I am feeling my worst
Your always there
To quench every thirst
Each passing moment
Brings more of your grace
When I can’t feel your touch
When I can’t see your face
I know that your near me
Only by faith
And that while I am waiting
Every tear you’ll erase.
Closer to you through the weakness in me
Closer to you when I bow on my knees
Closer to you when I can’t find my way
Lord draw me closer to you every day
Each passing moment
Brings mercies untold
You spare me from things
That would damage my soul
And fill me with hope
That will soon overflow
Because great is your love
For me.

Closer to you when my path is obscured
Lord draw me closer, please help me see you
Only through trials
When my faith is tried

So Lord let the trials
