It’s been a long four days
For this recent hospital stay
Pneumonia is gone
I’m going home
I’m so thankful to all who have prayed
Most of all I thank my Lord
He never spoke with a slur
He said I was healed
His truth is revealed
By the power of His Holy Word

In high school I took languages
French and Spanish you know
Today I may still know some words
But to translate I’d be a no show
Now I can open my Bible
I read the words of my Lord
And His Spirit helps me to know
What blessings He has in store
I do not need a translator
To know what He has to say
Because He is living inside me
He speaks to me every day

The gossip mills were churning
In my younger years
They said all kinds of nasty, juicy things
Most of them were true
As I was quite a wreck
I deserved the words their gossip brings
But then I met the Savior
Who took away my sin
And set me on a course to new life
Now I’m full of fruit
The Spirit gives to me
My juicy life is much more sweet and nice

My life was such a mess back then
I gave death little thought
I always lived my life down here
Like I didn’t give a squat
But then I learned there was a hell
And it was not for me
I didn’t want to burn down there
For all eternity
So I accepted Christ as Lord
And the price He paid for me
And I will live in heaven above
For all eternity

With great anticipation
I awaited the day
That my love was going to come and take me home
The first part of my life
Was spent in Massachu
Now Iowa would be where I would roam
With great expectation
We drive those many miles
Knowing God was guiding all the way
Now thirty-eight years later
Our love is still alive
And life keeps getting better day by day

I brush my teeth three times a day
In hopes that this will curb decay
Cold water’s not the choice I make
I prefer lukewarm
As I lift my hands in praise
I give my all to lift His name
Regarding Christ, I’m hot all day
And never lukewarm
If you’re lukewarm, He’ll spew you out
If you’re lukewarm, you’ll be kept out
So please make sure you spirit’s hot

I once had stinking thinking
When my head was screwed on wrong
When I got drunk and high on drugs
I thought good things would come
For several years I wandered far
And messed up my own life
But then one day I thought a sec
And opened up my eyes
I couldn’t help but criticize
The mess I’d made so far
I quickly came to realize
That life was one big scar
So I gave my heart to Jesus
And He healed me inside out
Now I have a joy and peace
My life has all worked out
