The Painting

The old man didn’t know if he had one more painting in him, or what his shaky fingers could do
He had painted many things through the years so long ago that now he could not figure what to choose
Then he looked out of his window to see a bright sunset and he knew this was a moment not to lose
He zoomed his camera in on the brilliance of the sun rays and decided to just let his fingers loose

The young man stood there weeping at the graveside of his father who had passed away so swiftly in the night
For years they’d been apart and just lately Dad had called him and wanted to make sure he was all right
For the next few weeks they talked and talked and grew quite close again and the future started looking very bright
And as he stood there in the twilight tears flowed down his face as he fought the hurt and anger at his plight.

God paints the sunset every day
A million different colors changing hue from ray to ray
And the beauty he creates cannot be matched by any man
Because every evening sunset is a gift that God created
To please the eye of every single man

The old man finished painting and he laid down his brush, then he heard a voice he hadn’t heard for years
The voice of God spoke softly that he should write a note, and place it with the picture he held near
God instructed him to take the picture to the local store, with the note neatly tucked in to the rear
And give the painting to a man who walked into the store with eyes that had been filled with tears

The young man wandered aimlessly through the streets of town, not knowing what direction he would go
When he happened in the store where the old man stood there smiling, the picture in his arms form him to show
And the tears once again welled inside the young man’s eyes as he saw the painting staring out so bold
He could not believe what the painting of the sunset right before him, so looked it over once and one time more.

God paints the sunset every day
A million different colors changing hue from ray to ray
And the beauty he creates cannot be matched by any man
Because every evening sunset is a gift that God created
To please the eye of every single man

The young man finally spoke and asked where this painting had come from, it was a sunset he had seen before
And the old man answered back he had painted it just recently, just 5 days had passed since he was done
That painting shows the sunset that was there on the day I last said my goodbye’s to my Dad
I’ve been trying to find something to remember him forever, and now this painting comes into my life

Now the old man said just wait, this picture is for you – no charge because it’s from the masters hand
And he handed him the note that he had penned upon completion of the painting of that sunset days before
As the young man read the note, the tears started flowing, a sob or two came forth amid the joy
And he read aloud in broken voice the words the note contained, and the shop keeper just bowed his head in thanks

I painted this sunset just for you today
Knowing that your heart was full of pain
As you look upon it’s beauty, just remember that I love you
For only God can paint the sunset just for you.

God paints the sunset every day
A million different colors changing hue from ray to ray
And the beauty he creates cannot be matched by any man
Because every evening sunset is a gift that God created
To please the eye of every single man

My Part

I often sit and wonder,
In my quiet little place –
If this love will last forever,
And a smile comes on my face.

Again, this is so different –
The feelings are immense,
My first life has been spent
Without question of expense.

I can feel his love so deeply
In my heart throughout the day,
And I know that I will always be
Walking in his Holy way.

And I truly thank you Lord of all
For the love you bring within;
I have heard your true and Holy call,
I will never turn again.

You fill my life with joy
In a world where I was lost,
I no longer feel that I’m a boy –
I’m a man; I’ve paid the cost.

Now Jesus lives within me,
And a love does fill my heart
That I wish to share with all of you
To fulfill my rightful part.

I Long For You

I long to behold Him
To be in His presence
To sense His glory
To have Him smile upon Me
To here His voice.
I long to serve Him
To share His presence with others
To declare His glory
To bring a smile to someone else's face
To introduce someone to Him
I long to worship Him
To dwell in His presence
To bask in His glory
To bring a smile upon His face
To lend Him my voice
I long for His touch
The touch of His presence
The touch of His glory
The touch of His delight in me
The sweet touch of His voice in my ear
I long for Jesus,
My Lord and my Savior
My King and my Comforter
I long for you.

I Can’t Help But Praise His Name

When I consider all that He has done for me
When I consider all the love that came from Calvary
When I consider that he died so I could be set free
I can’t help but praise His name

When I look up to the heavens and see His majesty
When I see the trees to colors and the wind blow mightily
When I hear the bird sing sweetly as the sun dawns in the East
I can’t help but praise His name

He is always there to guide me
Always right beside me
Always there to pick me up if I should start to fall
He is there to hear my prayers
He is there to dry my tears
That is why I praise His name

When I lie my body down, and try to go to sleep
I can hear His voice speak softly as the day fades quietly
He whispers in my ear “My Son I love you, Oh so dear”
I can’t help but praise His name.

I Can Trust In Him

The goodness of the Lord
Is watching over me
Keeping me from harm
Holding back the enemy
He holds me in His arms
And always holds me close
I know I can trust in Him

The mercy of the Lord
It covers all my sins
It cleanses my iniquities
And makes me whole within
His mercy overwhelms me
Each time I go astray
I know I can trust in Him

The grace of the Lord
Is what I love the most
He gives me all His treasures
And He never lets me go
I bask amid His riches
As they are so freely mine
I know I can trust in Him

Hosanna to the Lord

When the sun comes up
And the day begins
I will lift my hands
To praise Him

When the day is done
And the sky's ablaze
I will lift my voice
And shout His praise

Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord
Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord

When the clouds roll in
And the sky turns gray
I will lift my eyes
In wondrous praise

When the north wind blows
With a mighty roar
I will lift His name
Forevermore

Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord
Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord

Sing His praise
All the day
Sing it loud
Sing it long
He us worthy
Of all praise
Forever and ever

Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord
Hosanna, hosanna
Hosanna to the Lord

Hallelujah

Hallelujah! what a word
So much fun to sing
Lifting high our praises
To Jesus Christ our king

Hallelujah makes a song
Sound more than heavenly
Our hearts are lifted by its sound
We sing to royalty.

I love the sound of Hallelujah
Ringing through my ears
It lifts me up and fills my heart
And takes away my fear

I love to sing His Hallelujah
Jesus Christ my Lord
This word that’s sung in heaven
To the one that we adore

Sing Hallelujah to the Lamb
Who sits upon the throne
Hallelujah to the Son
Who came to die alone
Hallelujah to our King
Jesus crucified
Hallelujah to our Lord
Rose to give us life

Lover Of My Heart

My heart sings out your praises
Joyful Hallelujahs
Worshiping your presence
Lifting up your name

Glory in the highest
Highest adoration
You alone I worship
Lifting up your name

Jesus, blessed Savior
Lord of heaven and earth
Jesus, mine forever
Living in my heart

Jesus, King of all Kings
Master of my future
Blessed Lord of all things
That is who you are!

So I will sing your praise
And magnify your name
Jesus, Lovely Jesus
Jesus, Lord forever
Jesus, blessed Jesus
Lover of my heart.

It’s Pretty Amazing

It's pretty amazing what God has done
He loved us so much He gave us His son
It's pretty amazing what God has done for me
It's pretty amazing to realize
He rose from the gave to give us new life
It's pretty amazing what God has done for me
What have I done to deserve this precious grace?
How can I even think His mercy is so free?
All of my life I've hidden from His face
Yet He has always been there calling out to me
So I finally realized that Jesus loved me
And I knelt down at the cross of sin and shame
I asked Him to forgive me and live inside of me
And I promised Him I'd start to praise His name
I heard the Holy Spirit whisper softly
My child you have become a Son of God
Now raise up on your feet and tell your story
That is why I shout and sing His love
It's pretty amazing what God has done
He loved us so much He gave us His son
It's pretty amazing what God has done for me
It's pretty amazing to realize
He rose from the gave to give us new life
It's pretty amazing what God has done for me
Sing highest praise to the Lamb
Shouting hallelujah with our praise
The highest praise to His name
Jesus, Lord forever, Him we raise

This is My Prayer

Bowing before you, down on my knees
Humbly I cry out in prayer
I know you meet all me desperate needs
I know that you are there

Waiting before your glorious throne
Hands held in prayerful pose
I ask to feel your sweet touch overflow
To my body, my mind and my soul

This is my prayer, This is my plea
I come before you down on my knees
Waiting and watching, hoping you'll see
How much I need you.
How much I need you, Lord

Your Spirit awakens my soul deep within
My heart feels your presence again
My faith is uplifted, I'm free from my sin
My body no longer in pain

I praise you Lord, for hearing my prayer
Answering softly, meeting my need
I praise you Lord, I know you will hear
Every word, every plea

This is my prayer, This is my plea
I come before you down on my knees
Waiting and watching, hoping you'll see
How much I need you.
How much I need you, Lord
