Mercy For Every

For every storm
For every pain
His mercy comes again

For every doubt
For every fear
His mercy’s always near

For every sigh
For every shame
His mercy still remains

For every sin
For every stain
His mercy is my gain

There’s no end to His mercy
There’s nothing that prevails
For every situation
His mercy never fails

For every one
Who’s lost in sin
His mercy is for every

For every one
Who feels left out
His mercy is for every

For every one
Who has some doubts
His mercy is for every

For every one
Whose lost their shout
His mercy is for every

There’s no end to His mercy
There’s nothing that prevails
For every situation
His mercy never fails

Every father, every son
Every daughter, every one
Every mother in her love
His mercy is for every

Digging Up Clams

My Grandpa lived in Maine
Not a long ways from the bay
He farmed a little land
We helped to gather hay

When chores were all completed
Down to the shore we’d go
Digging up the clams
Encrusted in the soil

We’d clean the dirt off carefully
Then in the pot they’d go
All cleaned from dirt and grime
With butter we enjoyed

Our lives are like those clams
The dirt of sin and shame
Has captured us from birth
We cannot clean it’s stain

God gave us His son
To clean us from all sin
His sacrifice of love
Will cleanse our hearts within

Isn’t It a Wonder

Isn’t it a wonder when the sun slowly sets
The clouds scatter out on display
The glistening light
Forms a beautiful sight
The painting takes my breath away

Isn’t it a wonder that stars roam the sky
Their brilliance is always displayed
The patterns we see
Are truly unique
They remain constant day after day

Isn’t it a wonder that flowers can bloom
From one little seed in the ground
Some water and light
Give them more than just life
When I come close their fragrance is found

Isn’t it a wonder how birds fly so free
Their wings carry them through the sky
Mere feathers and bones
Arranged in a row
They can soar without knowing why

Isn’t it a wonder that I can stand here
When I am but dust of the earth
He formed me by hand
Made me who I am
My make-up has so little worth

Isn’t it a wonder that I can see
I can speak and I even hear
This small pile of dust
Was formed out of trust
That I would praise Him who formed me

Isn’t it a wonder that God would love me
He’s always right there by my side
He still cares for me
Even when I displease
His mercy and grave override

Isn’t it a wonder that God sent His son
To die on a cross for me
When I give Him my life
He will raise me up high
In heaven one day I will be

No Regrets

I forgot to publish this yesterday and just found it, so thought I’d post it now. This is yesterday’s prompt!

My wife’s a country bumpkin
Now I’ve become one too
Since the day I moved to Iowa
I was raised on city life
The bright lights spoke to me
Then my first sight of her I fell in love

The city had its beauty
But my life was a mess
I had to move or stay within that rut
No compromise could come
It was country or my past
The choice to move I never will regret

One other place we all
Must make a firm hard choice
Is if we will accept our Saviors’ love
There is no compromise
Because for you He died
Decided today to make Him Lord of all

In response to the daily prompt Compromise

Nothing Sound

One day hot the next day cold
One day sun then clouds enfold
One day dry the next day rain
Patterns never are the same

One day right the next day wrong
Morals wain as sin is strong
No more can we know the truth
No more can we trust their fruit

Ever changing world around
Nothiing constant nothing sound
Reeling in a world of duubt
Willl the truth ever come out

Only one thing always stays
One thing still remains the same
Jesus loves you, thiis  know
For the Bible tells me so

How Can I Keep Silent

How can I keep silent
When birds sing out their praise
They greet the sun each morning
With songs that lift His name

How can I keep silent
When sunrise lights the sky
The colors give Him glory
As gilded clouds shine bright

How can I keep silent
While trees wave praise all day
The rustling of their leaves
Shout out in lofty praise

Can you hear their worship
Can you see their praise
Lifted up to heaven
Honoring His name
Their song lifts up to heaven
Their glory fills the skies
How can i keep silent
While nature testifies

How can I keep silent
When babbling brooks proclaim
A song of hallelujah
Proceeds throughout they day

How can I keep silent
When stars praise in the night
Twinkling in wonder
Of His power and might

Will you rise and worship
Will you rise in praise
Sing out hallelujah
Glorify His name
My heart beats in wonder
My soul leaps within
Longing to rejoice
And lift my voice to Him

I will lift my eyes to heaven
I will raise my hands up high
I will not be silent
I will testify
Glory to the King of Kings
Glory to the Lamb
I will sing His praises
I will worship Him

The Treasure

I’ve wandered through the valley
I’ve scaled the mountain heights
I’ve travelled down the rivers
Below the stars so bright
In all my earthly travels
And exploits far and wide
Jesus is more beautiful than all

I’ve tasted of the finest foods
I’ve smelled sweet odors vast
I’ve heard the songs of whippoorwills
Deep in the heartland grass
In all that I’ve partaken
Throughout this blessed life
Jesus is the sweetest of them all

Diamonds don’t compare to Him
Rubies fade away
Emeralds lose their luster
Gold is dull and gray
He shines as brightly as the sun
He glimmers in my eye
Jesus is my treasure
Today and for all time

I’ve been with men of high estate
I’ve tasted of that life
I’ve had my days of wealth and fame
I’ve scaled the corporate heights
With all the people I have met
Their power and their might
Jesus is the mightiest of all

In all of His greatness
His mercy covers me
In all of His grandeur
His grace is all I need
Powerful and Mighty
King of Kings is He
Yet He loves me more than I can see

Diamonds don’t compare to Him
Rubies fade away
Emeralds lose their luster
Gold is dull and gray
He shines as brightly as the sun
He glimmers in my eye
Jesus is my treasure
Today and for all time

The Present

Today is the day
Not tomorrow
Not yesterday
Today is the day
To praise the Lord

Today is the day
Not next week
Not last week
Today is the day
To worship Him

He is the one
Who gives us the present
He is the one
Who gives breath every day
He is the one
Who gives rythm to heart beats
Only my God
Can show me the way

Today is a present
All wrapped up in hope
His peace calms my spirit
His joy overflows

This wonderful present
Is mine for the asking
It comes every moment
From Jesus my King

He is the one
That showers with mercy
He is the one
Whose love reigns divine
He is the one
Who gives grace amazing
Only my God
Will always be mine

Today is the day
Today is the present
Today is my gift
From Jesus my Lord
Today I will praise Him
Today I will worship
Today is my chance
To give thanks to my Lord.

Give Them Away

He gave to me mercy
So I could be free
He gave to me grace
So my eyes could see
He gave to me joy
It gushes in me
On top of all that
He gave me His peace

Oh what a blessing to live for the Lord
I am so glad He’s the one I adore
He gives me so much
He tells me I must
Give to others what He’s given me

He gave to me hope
Now heaven is mine
He gave me forgiveness
He’s good and He’s kind
He gave me His love
So faithful and true
He gave me all this
So I’d give it to you

Oh what a blessing to live for the Lord
I am so glad He’s the one I adore
He gives me so much
He tells me I must
Give to others what He’s given me

These things that He gave me
These gifts of His love
Should flow out of me to touch you
These things should give life
To all who know me
If His will I’ve decided to do
They’re not for hoarding
Or holding on to
I need to give then away
When I follow Him
With all that I am
I’ll give them away every day

Oh what a blessing to live for the Lord
I am so glad He’s the one I adore
He gives me so much
He tells me I must
