Quite Insurmountable

The legend of Yeti is quite insurmountable
He’s known as a snowman who’s quite abominable
Fiction as fact and mostly not affable
He lives in the lore of old times

But one much older than him is not so abominable
And the deeds he has down are quite insurmountable
Or God in heaven is always most affable
And I love to give him my time

I talk to Him in my prayers every day
I talk to Him when I praise Him always
I sing my songs to His wonderful name
For He is the author of time

Let us forget the myth that takes up our time
And think on the one who gives us our time
He loves to be with us and near us at all times
Give Him everything that you are

Jumping For Joy Cancer Update

I published this on my God’s Maintenance Man blog and decided to reblog it here as well.

Pete's avatarGod's Maintenance Man

Still in complete remission and no active lesions! Blood counts all look good. Praise the Lord.

This was the report I received Monday in Iowa City. I also found out my last day chemo is Sept 27th. Everything is progressing nicely. I am walking an average of 2 miles a day and biking 4+ miles a day. This is the most exercise I have ever done in my life!

On the “still believing God for complete healing” side, my neuropathy has not changed, but I am functioning better with it. And my fatigue level has slightly deteriorated (Maybe I exercise too much?).

I also have 4 opportunities to share the healing story of faith in the next two months, and continue to look for more open doors. Any suggestions?

Again, thank you for all your prayers and support. Janeen has drawn strength from them as much…

Our Salvation

Pass the Test

These days of summer seem so long
The sun just seems to linger on
And when the final rays are gone
I lay my head to rest

When I awake to skies so hazy
I think the day will turn out lazy
To try and work outside is crazy
So I sit in my house

But in those times when body rests
My mind will try to pass the test
Being turned to God is best
To grow in Him each day

So even when my body rests
My Spirit will rejoice
For this is time that I can spend
In praise with lifted voice

The Sovereign One

Desire of my heart
The song of my soul
That’s what my God is to me
Protector
Provider
Deliverer
Restorer
All by His mercy

Creator
Redeemer
Forgiver
My Savior
His grace daily covers me
And when I lie down
In my bed at night
His Spirit will watch over me

So I will praise Him
My heart will adore Him
For all that He is
And all that He’s done

And I will worship
In awe and in wonder
Majestic is He
Holy is He
Worthy is He
The Sovereign one

We will discover
That there is no other
Of such awesome power
And wonderful love

So I stand amazed
At His grace and His mercy
For He rules the heavens
And He is enough

Jesus Life

Who Do You Trust?

Some say Superman, Batman and Flash
Will go on forever and ever
Some think that Buddha and Allah and Zen
Are bound to die out never

Some think their various sports stars
Have legacies that will endure
Some think that actors in block buster film
Are enshrined in eternal grandeur

But only our God is immortal
Only our God will be here forever
Only our God can stand by our side
Until the end of time

So don;t place your trust in super heroes
Don’t place your trust in those gods without power
Don’t place your trust in sports and film
Place your trust in the God who placed the stars

Come To The Altar

Perhaps your week has been hectic
You haven’t had time to pray
You feel all alone
Things seem so wrong
All that can change today

Maybe your whole life’s been filled up
With the cares of this world we’re in
God’s been squeezed out
Now you’re filled with doubt
There’s a place you’ll find peace again

Come to the altar
Cry out to Jesus
He’s longing to hear your voice
Seeking His mercy
Grace everlasting
Let’s come to the altar of God

At the altar you’ll find forgiveness
You can pour out your heart to Him
He’ll hear your heart’s cry
When you kneel at His side
Bring all your burdens to Him

Come to the altar
Cry out to Jesus
He’s longing to hear your voice
Seeking His mercy
Grace everlasting
Let’s come to the altar of God

He is here He is here
He is near He is near
Come and cry out to God
He is ready to answer your prayer

Come to the altar
Cry out to Jesus
He’s longing to hear your voice
Seeking His mercy
Grace everlasting
Let’s come to the altar of God

Quite a Ride

I’d love to go on a safari
In darkest Africa
Where animals roam the plains
And the night really shows the stars

I’d see lions and tigers and antelopes
Running around with glee
I’d see many birds I can’t name
And chimpanzees up in the trees

I’d really look for this one breed
Called the hippopotamus
In the midst of all these big animals
I’d remain equanimous

And the reason my peace would remain
Is because it is deep inside
Jesus will calm all my fears
And the trip will be quite a ride

That’s When Jesus Calls

In the midst of your troubles when life seems so hard
You try to find rest but don’t get very far
Life just seems so messed up wherever you are
That’s when Jesus calls

In the midst of the pain and illness you face
All of your body seems out of place
One thing or another makes your health a waste
That’s when Jesus calls

He calls us to show mercy
He calls us to show grace
He calls us to take heed and look above
When you are at the bottom
Be still and hear His voice
He’s calling you testify
He’s calling you to lift Him high
He’s calling you to tell of His great love

When it seems that we’re in the worst battles of life
And wherever we turn it just adds to our strife
That’s when we have to give praise we’re alive
For that’s when Jesus calls

In the midst of struggle
Mercies are all new
In the midst of struggle
His grace still blesses you
In the midst of struggle
Be careful what you do
This is the best time to praise His name

He calls us to show mercy
He calls us to show grace
He calls us to take heed and look above
When you are at the bottom
Be still and hear His voice
He’s calling you testify
He’s calling you to lift Him high
He’s calling you to tell of His great love

Bandit is His Name

We’re getting a puppy on Monday
It has been decades without
He’s really quite small
A lap dog after all
We’re starting to ready the house

There’s one thing that makes my uneasy
And makes my stomach quite quesy
I’ll be the one
To train our cute friend
I hope it’s heuristic and easy

Show Me

Show me your mercy
Abounding to me
Show me the grace
That set me free

Show me the peace
That calms the storm
Show me your joy
Increasingly more

Show me the hope
That endures forever
Show me your love
That fails me never

Show me deliverance
Break every chain
Show me salvation
All over again

Show me your healing
Wipe out my pain
Show me the freedom
That in you I gain

Show me your Spirit
Who guides me each day
Show me the Shephard
Who prepares my way

Show me the cross
Where you bled and died
Show me the glory
That you sacrificed
Show me the throne
Where you reign on high
Please show me Jesus
And I’ll testify

I’ll testify of His great love for me
I’ll testify how He set me free
I’ll testify of all he has done
I’ll show them Jesus one by one
