Live By Faith

How else can I live, Lord, but by faith in you and your never failing love for me?
How else can I overcome the calamities that befall me because of my own sinfulness and lack of wisdom?
How else can I walk through each day without fear the enemy will utterly consume me?How else can I know there’s truly hope for tomorrow, and my life is not doomed to end in destruction?
How else can I know my breath will still be with me in the morning, and my sight in the evening?

It is faith that upholds me.
It is faith that enables me to stand in the midst of the darkness of this world.
It is faith that helps me understand that this life is not fair, but you are always just.
It is faith that shows me the trials in my life are only present to perfect me in your ways.
It is faith that keeps me walking toward the prize of the high calling of God, not knowing the path I will have to tread.
It is faith that heals me, faith that delivers me, faith that upholds me, and faith that encourages me.

This faith does not come from the world around me that is so untrustworthy.
This faith does not come from the famous, or the wealthy, or the powerful.
This faith is not placed on the things or people of this world.
This faith is not a condition of my works, or of my words.
This faith is not placed in the stars above, or the moon, or the natural things of this world.

My faith is in the Lord Jesus Christ, His Father in Heaven, and His Spirit who dwells within.
My faith is in the creator of all things, and the upholder of the earth and all the heavens My faith is in the one who calls the stars by name, and numbers the hair on my head. My faith is in the one who makes nations rise and kings fall.
My faith is in God.

He will sustain me.
He will uphold me.
He will encourage me.
He will heal me.
He will deliver me.
He will direct my steps.
He will never leave or forsake me.
He will keep me from harm.
He will make all things work for my good
That is why I can live by faith, walk by faith, talk in faith, and trust in God.

Trust in God

I Can Trust in Him

The goodness of the Lord

Is watching over me
Keeping me from harm
Holding back the enemy
He holds me in His arms
And always holds me close
I know I can trust in Him

The mercy of the Lord
It covers all my sins
It cleanses my iniquities
And makes me whole within
His mercy overwhelms me
Each time I go astray
I know I can trust in Him

The grace of the Lord
Is what I love the most
He gives me all His treasures
And He never lets me go
I bask amid His riches
As they are so freely mine
I know I can trust in Him

God Never Changes

God never changes.
If there are troubles in your life,
God can change them to miracles
If you have doubts,
God can change them to faith
If you are sick,
God can change you to healed
If you're in sorrow,
God can change it to joy
If you're trouble,
God can change it to peace
If you're heart hurts,
God can change it to comfort
If your lost,
God can change you to found
If you're in sin,
God can change you to righteous
If your alone,
God can change it to oneness with Him
God never changes in His character,
but he is ever changing our character if we let Him.
Allow Him to change you as He sees fit
It's always for the best.
Effective Prayer

He Has the Power

He has the power to take my troubled past
And turn me into a a blessing that will last
He has the power to free me from my sin
And make me whole way down deep within

He has the power to turn my longing heart
Into a vessel that bursts it’s seems apart
He has the power to take this washed up soul
And make it new again in service for my Lord

He has the power my sorrow to erase
And bring out joy in every single case
He has the power to calm the raging storm
And bring me peace as I walk along the shore

He has the power to take the old man out
Create a new man who walks without a doubt
He has the power to cast my fears away
With His great love that follows me each day

He has the power to take the hardest things
He hears my prayers and all my answers brings
He has the power to walk with me each day
And gently guide me along His blessed way

In the beginning, God spoke the world into existence, brought light by merely saying “Let there be Light” and brought all life into this world by His words. He brought 10 plagues on the Egyptians, parted the Red Sea for the Israelites, brought them manna in the wilderness and quails in abundance and then opened up the flooded Jordan River to they could pass into the Promised Land. He knocked down the walls of Jericho with a shout, gave Joshua battle plans for victory against all His enemies, gave Caleb the strength to claim his inheritance and caused Ruth to come to Boaz. He gave Gideon a plan, strengthened Samson’s hand, guided the stone from David’s sling saved Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego from the fiery furnace, and shut the lion’s mouth for Daniel. He healed the leper, gave the blind man sight, made the lame man walk and the dumb to talk. He raised the dead, made water into wine, fed five thousand with a young boy’s lunch and took all of our sins to a cross.

When we see the mighty works of God throughout the Bible, how can we not have the faith to know He can take care of our needs? He has the power to do anything we ask Him to do. He may not do it exactly as we have asked, but He will answer our prayers. He promises this over and over again in His word. Will you believe Him today for the things in your life that are lacking?

Jeremiah 33:3 King James Version (KJV)
3 Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.

On Christ Alone I Stand

Faith rises up within me
As on His word I stand
There is no greater mercy
Than Jesus Christ commands
My surgery behind me
My healing quickly comes
I stand upon His promise
My victory is won

On Christ alone I stand
I’m healed by His great hand
There is no greater plan
On Christ alone I stand

I had hernia surgery two days ago. It was quite a thing to go through. I had no fear, no trepidation, as I knew it had to be done. I was so calm that my heart rate was down around 50 and my body temp was at 96. The nurse asked if that was normal and I said no, but I am calm, cool and collected about having this surgery. The nurse laughed and my wife gave me that look that only a loving wife can concern over the pain that would accompany my recovery, as they said they would give me hydrocodone for the pain, and I knew they didn’t prescribe that very often. But I was ready. The surgery went smoothly and I awoke in the recovery room slowly. When they tried to get me up on my feet, my right leg just gave way like rubber due to the local anesthetic they used. It took a little bit to get me walking. An hour later we came home.

Recovery has been aided greatly by my granddaughter being here to care for me. The hospital called yesterday to see how I was doing. They were so pleased that was walking around without any help, there was no swelling or bruising, no pain when just sitting or walking. There was a sharp ten pain when getting up, and about a five getting down again. But that is survivable. I am thankful for all those who have been praying for me. Jesus Christ is my healer and He is doing a swift job of it. By faith I will be better than ever in a few more days (maybe weeks, but I accept His timetable). In Christ alone I stand!

Isaiah 53:5 New International Version (NIV)
5 But he was pierced for our transgressions,
he was crushed for our iniquities;
the punishment that brought us peace was on him,
and by his wounds we are healed.
