Jesus Life

Forgive Them

Has someone said some words
That are absurd and caused deep hurt
They have sent you reeling
Hurt your feelings
Now you’re dealing with these thoughts
They have wrought
In your heart
Forgive them, for they know not what they do

Has someone done something
That starts to ring and leaves a sting
To your pride
Down deep inside
You try to hide and want payback
Except you lack
A plan of attack
Forgive them, for they know not what they do

Have people whipped you hard
Beaten with a rod for who you are
Put thorns on your head
Falsely accused and led
To death
Upon a cross crucified
Left to die
Forgive them, for they know not what they do

We do not have
A life that is so bad
Yet we complain
Of the pain
That others cause us
And we discuss
Those things that sting
With those who can do nothing
To fix the pain
And we disdain
From what God said
In His word
Forgive them, for they know not what they do

The next time you feel hurt
Become the person God intended
Bring an end to any strife
Give out life
As you forgive them
For they know not what they do

The Believers Life

When Life Seems Lost

In autumn we view many things
That make us marvel at our God
The brilliance of a lowering sun
The clouds produce a show of awe

This is a time of cooler days
When leaves in sunlight start to glow
Deciduous trees light up the air
Their yellows, reds and oranges show

Then these brilliant leaves do fall
Adorning all the earth and sod
The trees lay bare but still raise high
Their branches lifting praise to God

We’d learn a lot to take their cue
To lift our eyes when life seems lost
For even though the winter comes
Spring will soon be greeting us

My Dog Bandit

The Chair Thief

My chair awaits
My dog Bandit
My lapdog Bandit
Is lying in my chair
Keeping it warm
Warm for me
Hoping I will sit with him
Not on him

I walk over
Looking at him
Talking to him
As if he were human
“Do you like my chair”
“is it warm enough for you”
“Can I sit down”
He looks at me
Cocking his head
As if to say “Huh?”

I start to sit
He moves over to the side
He stands there as I sit
Then he steps over
Walking on my lap
Licking my neck
My face
Giving me love
Like he’s thanking me
For keeping him warm
On this chilly day

Only Jesus

She woke up in the night from the pain
That had plagued her since her teenage years
No relief would come from the torment she went through
Unless she got her hands on drugs not hers

He woke up In the night from the thoughts
That plagued his heart and soul everyday
He could not right his mind from the sin that lurked within
Unless he started looking once again

What they need is Jesus, only Jesus
What they need is time spent in the Word
As they turn their thoughts toward Him
Their minds won’t turn within
And the struggles of this life will quickly dim

This life can be a catalog of struggles
That can captivate our mind and soul
But when we turn our hearts and minds to Jesus
His Words will bring us out of this old world

Only Jesus can save us
Only Jesus can raise us
Out of the murky land of sin
Only Jesus delivers
Only Jesus rescues sinners
Out of the guilt and shame within

What we need is Jesus, only Jesus
What we need is time spent in the Word
As we turn their thoughts toward Him
Our minds won’t turn within
And the struggles of this life will quickly dim

The Believers Life

Richer Than This World

This world sees abundance in so many things
Possessions are what we most crave
My God makes me richer than this world can know
In the wonderful things that He gave

Abundant in mercy that forgives my sin
Abundant in grace for the moment
Abundant in love everlasting and free
Jesus my all in all

Abundant in peace that calms every storm
Abundant in joy never ceasing
Abundant in hope that endures for all time
Jesus my all in all

Abundant in healing my body and soul
Abundant in faith through His word
Abundant in patience for me and my ways
Jesus my all in all

All these blessings and more are mine today
Because He gave His life on the cross
If you give your life to Jesus today
Your days will also be blessed

The Believers Life

I’m Holding On

I’m holding on
To the promise of redemption by His grace
On the cross He bore my sins and took my place
And one day soon I’ll see His blessed face
I’m holding on

I’m holding on
To the promise of the comforter He gave
When He sent the Holy Spirit in His place
To teach me truth and guide me in His ways
I’m holding on

I’m holding on
To the promises His Word provides for me
Every day they guide me to my destiny
He is making me what He wants me to be
I’m holding on

I’m holding on
To the promise that He’s coming back one day
And all those who are saved will fly away
Then by His side is where we’ll always stay
I’m holding on

Praise & Worship

Mighty Creator

Who paints the sunrise and sunset each day
Who calls the wind to blow
Who placed the stars in the heavens above
Who made the oceans below

Who gave us ears to hear natures voice
Who gave us eyes to see
Who gave us arms to reach out and touch
All those who might have a need

Mighty Creator
Ruler of all
You placed the stars with your hands
Lord of all Heaven
Jesus the Lamb
Now and forever be praised

Who came from heaven down to this earth
To become our sin sacrifice
Who died for us and then rose again
To give us eternal life

His name is Jesus
His name is Jesus
His name is Jesus
Jesus my Lord

Mighty Creator
Ruler of all
You placed the stars with your hands
Lord of all Heaven
Jesus the Lamb
Now and forever be praised

Pictures of Nature

In this world there are many beautiful things
Like a sunset at night and a bird on the wing
But nothing compares to the cool autumn days
When foliage turns and ripens with age

I used to live in New England you see
Fall is the one time that homesick hits me
Every year we would ride through the mountains and hills
Seeking the colors that gave us all thrills

Yellows and reds oranges too
Blue spruce and evergreens added their hue
Purple was there to add to the sight
To top it all off was the brilliant sunlight

I’m so glad that my God created this place
To be of such beauty and filled with His grace
He paints all the pictures of nature each day
So you can be blessed as you travel your way

Don’t forget to give thanks for His wonderful gift
Of sunrise and sunset and hillsides all lit
Give thanks for the gift of His Son every day
Who died to take all your sins away

Oh The Blood

The blood of Jesus rescued me
From living Satan’s destiny
I am not longer bound to sin
His grace has washed me from within

The blood of Jesus purchased me
From living life in misery
I am no longer bound by shame
I am alive in Jesus name

Oh the blood
Oh the blood
Washes white as snow
Oh the blood
Oh the blood
By His blood I am made whole

The blood of Jesus made me free
Hell is not my destiny
I now am bound by His great love
A home in heaven waits above

Oh the blood
Oh the blood
Washes white as snow
Oh the blood
Oh the blood
By His blood I am made whole

The Day Escapes

It happens way to often
Because my wandering mind
Is concentrated elsewhere
And I lose track of time
The day escapes me quickly
And suddenly I find
My birthday wish is once again
Belated and behind

It’s common to be late
We think it’s quite all right
But soon will come a time
When late will pay a price
If you do not know Jesus
When the trumpet sounds
We’ll all rise to heaven
And you’ll stay on the ground

Today’s the day to make the choice
Make Jesus Christ your King
You’ll bow before Him one day
Why not give Him everything
This world and all its riches
Will soon decay and die
But if you do know Jesus
You’ll have eternal life
