Greatness Out of This Great Mess

(This poem was written in 2016, while I was in the midst of cancer treatments.  I am now cancer free, praise the Lord!  But I never posted this poem for some reason, so I am adding it today?)

Riddled with cancer
Shoulder just quits
Neuropathy covers my feet
Two stem cell transplants
Weakness ensues
God will make some greatness out of this great mess

Jesus the master healer 
He supplies all the strength that I need
I fill all my days
With words of His praise
As His healing starts working in me

First I walked with a walker
A cane followed closely behind
I walked just a block at a time
But my drive just kept up
With my faith in my Lord
Now a mile a day isn't long

My shoulder would not move at all
The doctors could not understand
They said maybe never would heal
Movement came in ten months 
Therapy started at once
Now full range of motion is here

Jesus the master healer 
He supplies all the strength that I need
I fill all my days
With words of His praise
As His healing starts working in me

God will make some greatness
Out of this great mess
Cancer is no longer found
I'm healed from above
With doctors involved
In the therapy of Jesus love

Holy, Holy Is The Lamb

I come into your dwelling place where you are on throne.
King of Kings and Lord of Lords, with praise you are adorned.
High and lifted up for all the saints to see.
Your glory and your splendor, and all your majesty

There is no one that’s higher, no one who’s worth my praise.
No one who can redeem me, no one who beat the grave.
No one who can restore me and give to me new life.
There’s only one in all creation, His name is Jesus Christ

I will lift my hands and sing.  Glory to the King of Kings.
He alone is worthy of my praise.
I will lift my voice aloud.  Glory to the Lord of Lords.
He alone is worthy of my praise.

Forever we will be with Him in heaven high above.
Lifting up our praise to Him for His unending love.
We’ll all join in together and sing the wondrous song.
Holy, holy is the Lamb who is seated on the throne.

Sweet Release

I fell into the devil's snare and tried hard to get out
I fought and clawed and kicked real hard I even tried to shout
But no one on this earth could come and free me from this trap
I finally succumbed to him and thought my life would pass

I found myself get comfortable in all the evil ways
But deep inside I knew my life was doomed to be a waste
I tried to medicate my mind and drink myself to joy
But all I did was deeper go into this sin and toil

Then one day someone told me of a man from long ago
Who came to set us free from sin so we could be made whole
I could not believe that such a simple step would pay
But nonetheless I called to Him and this is what I said

"Dear Jesus, I was told one day that you'd forgive my sins
That you died on a cross that day to come and live within
I am weak and tired Lord of fighting off this load
So won't you please forgive me now and I will make you Lord".

Then suddenly the pain was gone, I felt a sweet release
I knew that something changed in me because I now had peace
The drink and drugs were gone and now I only wanted Him
Because He rescued me that day and took away my sin

How wonderful is Jesus to all who call on Him
He'll come and make you whole again and give you peace within
If you don't know the Savior then why not pray my prayer
And you can be made whole again.
Please pray this prayer today?

"Dear Jesus, I was told one day that you'd forgive my sins
That you died on a cross that day to come and live within

So won't you please forgive me now and I will make you Lord".

His Precious Gifts

Lift your praises high to Him, our soon and coming King
Give your worship every day to God for everything
Sing loud, rejoicing in the fact that this day you can bring
An offering of praise and thanks to Jesus Christ our King

Lord, I pray that you'll go with me through this day to come
I pray my eyes will take in all the wonders you have done
From the darkness of the night that becomes a brilliant dawn
Through a day that's filled with miracles when evening's sun is gone

First the stars are sparkling in the darkness of the night
Until the clouds are sprinkled with the first hint of sunlight
Slowly come the golden borders of the clouds in sight
Until it overwhelms my eyes with beautiful delight

Birds start chirping, sending songs throughout the morning sky
As spring time dew starts falling on the ground that's oh so dry
The flowers start to open as they greet the morning light
And I wake up to song and light from a long and restful night

Now breath does fill my lungs with air, a gift from God most high
My eyes are opened up to see, the miracle of sight
I hear the birds sing sweetly at the beautiful sunlight
And I marvel at the song they sing in praise to God most high

I could go on and on with all the miracles He gives
And fill a thousand pages with my praise at all He did
On this one day in a million that He's given me to live
But I'll stop right here and simply say I'll give my praise to Him

For every breath, and every sight, and every sense or sound
Is another gift from God most high, His precious gifts abound
From lighting up the sky to all the wonders on the ground
He never will forsake me, He'll always be around

So lift your praises high to Him, our soon and coming King
Give your worship every day to God for everything
Sing loud, rejoicing in the fact that this day you can bring
An offering of praise and thanks to Jesus Christ our King

Ask Him to forgive your sin
Ask for His reward
When you do these things in truth
And turn your heart to Him
New life will rise within your heart
And you'll be born again

Won't you give your life to Him
And have a brand new start

New life He gives to you
Receive the love of Jesus Christ
Accept His gift to you.
